  • Fuck the lesson, i am in love with his teaching style.

  • I have a question do Rhythm guitarists do solos and scales as well? Not just chords?? Cuz that's what this one guy told me at Guitar Center but I'm not sure now..

  • Ok so how do i do this while standing up cos its impossible to put your fingers into those positions at that angle

  • fuckin` good teacher!!!!!!!

    Perfect!

  • YES I'M SOLD. BRING IT!!

he hit nail with that statement

  • Thanks for the Video

  • @LuisAlvarado03 Stop trolling.

  • @thatguyyoudontfeel I think you misunderstand Luis. Currently his website is down but I bought something at the site and didn't receive a single thing. When you contact Vguitar they don't reply at all. The website is a total fraud, this guy is an imposter. That's such a pity because these lessons are actually quite good.

  • Nice Guitar

  • Are Your Sold? Me: yes!.... Good:D

  • 1 more plz

  • I learned a lot and it's not confusing at all. Thanks a lot

  • 1 more plz

  • u r jz outstanding dude...u r way of teaching is gr8....thx for sharing this knowledge with the world :)

  • LOL You are amazing Teacher send by god :D

  • @guitarlesson. Hey if we leave the 5th fret bared does that count?

  • I know it's getting off the subject, but when he played the first few notes on the A blues scale I recognized the opening notes to Led Zeppelin's "Heartbreaker"!

  • It's SO hard to hammer with your pinky on an accoustic guitar!

  • HE IS MY HERO! I love guitar MMMMMMM

  • MY GOD THE SPEED IS SO FUKING HARD TO DO IT

  • yeah red hot chilli peppers..lol!

  • i love this man

  • MY LITTLE FINGER! I'm hammering with the pinky using a thimble from now on. That smarts!

  • does the hammer on and the pull off work on the acoustic guitar? cuz doesn't seem 2 work for me :S???

  • @PapaAced well im doing it without an amp

  • @PapaAced it works for me, you just have to listen very closely.

  • can

anybody get their freakin pinky to the other fret? i keep using my other hand to try and spread my crippled looking hand but i fear itll break my fingers lol

  • @victortorres lol i can do it. but the hammeron and pulloff part is harder

  • Hammering with the pinky finger hurts real hard. I got sort of a mechanical pinky lol. What a great lesson. Really easy and fast paced in a safe way.

  • Anyone else's little finger hurts after this?

  • He's Friendly lol

    i like that

  • i like the the guitar

when ha do his preformans i don't like

  • what is "preformans"

  • hey, I thought this is the pentatonic? the blues scale is different, I think?

  • your so cool

  • Ah dang it! i have super short/small pinkies!! nooooo!! lol

  • You're just amazing! I'm learning a lot with your vids, my problem is that my little finger is really small and i can't put it on the 6th string! But I'm trying! ^^,

    Thanks a lot, really!

  • @Catzxhorror get a smaller guitar?

  • @nguyenjohn357 Yeaa, that would be a good idea! But I'll continue with a normal sized guitar, I think it's just 'cause I'm a beginner and I don't have a good agility with my fingers yet!

  • top guy..will you be my brother ? ha ha.. nice one mate well informative . thanks

  • You are an excellent and passionate teacher. I've been playing guitar for 33 years and I would take lessons from you anyday.

  • why is a guitar player who's been playing for 33 years is watching guitar lessons ?

  • For counting the frets on a tab, going from the bass string, low E, to the high E, this is the name of each note on the string in standard tuning from that order:

E A G B D E. So instead of counting 1-6, you can also practice the string names for standard tuning using EAGDBE :) of course this varies for alternate tuning, but maybe that way will help you as well instead of counting with numbers good luck :) This guy is amazing, truly amazing :)

  • i have the tab down but i just cant seem to remember the frets numbers with out counting 1,2,3,4,5 down the guitar can you or anyone help p.s great vids God bless you for this dude

  • If you look at the neck of your guitar, you will see dots (or something else, but for a beginner guitar it's usually dots...). These are good for quickly finding frets, so pay attention to them and memorise them.

the dots should be on fret 3,5,7,9,12,15,17,19, 21 (and 23 if you have a 23fret guitar)

  • i have an acoustic guitar and hammering its quite a challenge :)

  • really good but i gotta say its almost not doable on an acousting guitar

  • God thought it was best to give me short pinkies!

    I dont :(

    Good vid tho

  • good lessons yet ur site is bad... i mean im not paying for lessons, thats not cool.

  • do you need adobe flash reader 9

  • Can anybody tell me why i can't download thid video clip using realplayer plz

  • And the best way to practice that and gain speed is to do it with metronome.... For beginners the best speed to start at is 60bpm and u can later increase speed........ :D

  • Hammering on an acoustic guitar is quiet hard tbh.

  • tnx you help mevery much

  • hey,

anyone know what guitar hes using, look sreally nice..

    thanks,

    ~Sam

  • paul reed smith

  • i think its a fame

  • buying guitar lessons is not worth it its a waste of time. You are wonderful teacher, I always learn fast from you.

  • dire straits "sultans of swing" is a great song to hear for hammer ons and pull offs

P.s well organizes lesson. Great teacher. Love his accent !

  • What he shows isnt the blues scale..its the normal A minor pentatonic scale ....the blues scale use the 6 fret on the 5 string the d# / e(b)

was er zeigt ist ncit die blues skala...es ist die normale A moll pentatonic skala...die blues skala benutzt das dis (es ) im 6ten bund auf der 5ten seite

  • @Syyriss maybe he want to teach us practising using the fourth finger

  • im liking this^^ thanks :)

  • i.m.h.o. a-c-d-e flat-e-g-a

  • Remember (in a minor) :

    a

A-C-D-E FLAT-E-G-A is better.Than ordinary blue scale. Also u may combie major tercia (Clapton style)

  • Thanks alot, this helped me very much

  • I really like this guy. Wish he had been my teacher. It would have made life a lot easier.

  • what the fuck this isn't the blues scale its the minor pentatonic. the blues scale has a sharp after each third note.

  • Comment removed

  • ohh am sorry VAN HALEN if you knew it already why the fuck did you see the video?

    smart ass duche

  • wow yea no i shouldn't have pointed that out. we all want the beginners out there to think that they are playing the blues scale when they are playing the pentatonic, because some douchebag guy with an accent told them the wrong thing. its impossible to get this shit mixed up. and i watched this video because i used to watch this guy to get lessons before i started taking official ones. and you don't need to be Van fucking Halen to know the difference between the blues and the pentatonic.

  • Great Video Though - Good Job!

  • LOL! Pause Video At 7:18

  • what? whats so fu nny?

  • Comment removed

  • great job! i made it so far and i can play everything.! Thanks so much and I cant wait to learn some of the next lessons

  • What a great teacher. Mohawk man ( no put down intended) is easy to understand.

  • i wanted to give it:D:Dthanks to this guy i wanted to play and paly and play:Done day you will hear about me:Dmy name is MARKO

  • what a great teacher this guy is and the best thing about its free lessons you would pay up to £600 to get lessons like this in a school

  • i don't find this sort of stuff that too bad but strumming is a bit of a bitch lol. perhaps its my cheapo guitar, i have to press harder on the strings and my fingers hurt

  • i thought the same thing... it turns out my technique was off.

  • to be exact tts the A pentatonic scale.. the blues scale is a variation of the A pentatonic scale which has additional notes..

The actual blues scale has these additional notes:

    5th string, 6th fret

3rd string, 8th fret / 2nd string, 4th fret (its the same note)

try out the scale with this 2 additional notes, it will sound very blues-sy..

btw.. the A pentatonic scale is a MUST know for rock and metal..

  • im tryin my hardest to do the 5-8 notes but my hand arent bigenough hav u any tips for that????

  • you are the best teacher in guitar...thank you so much...iloveyou man..

  • tell me why i tried learning this from someone else and i couldnt do it. but from this guy i learned it in literally a few short minutes, to an hour? cuz this guy knows not only how to play, but to teach as well.

  • Arbiter1190 becuase there shit

  • U OWN ^^

  • I LOVE THAT YOU DO!

It Will Be SOOOO GOOD IF ALL CAN LEARN LIKE YOU DO !!!

  • But the hammer on and the pull off is it as important for the acustic guitar and the electric guitar ?, because i'm on a acustic and when i'm doing the hammer on the sound isn't as strong, and it's just realy veak

    :S :S

  • omgoshhhh .. i cant hammer on , i keep missing the string!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that blues scale is a minor pentatonic scaloe

  • Nice try, but it's also got the half steps in it to make it the blues scale. But you're right-- it is based off of the minor pentatonic

  • lol i finelly understood what xHy means XD

    thx man

  • he didnt mention system of a down at 8:18 :(

  • oh man..

you make it look so easy

  • I am almost positive that my guitar is incapable of doing pull offs and hammers. Firstly because I don't have an amp to plug it in to (lol). And second because I have a very old electric guitar with thick metal strings.

  • That may be a bass guitar dude.

  • its so hard to do a pull off

i just cant make a sound!!!

  • Thx.

These lessons are really usefull. I'm doing brilliantly on the electric guitar!!!

  • Um... I'm using an acoustic guitar.

When my little finger hammers on the 6th string, fret 8. It always touch the 5th string accidentally.

Can anyone tell me that if this is right?

Or, little fingers are not supposed to do so.

    Thx

  • my little pinky is touching all the string..

    lol..

  • dude i cant even hammer off but like the dude says in the video just practice

  • i thought it was called a pentetonic scale

  • It is called one or the other actually.

  • holy balls this is so fucking hard, cant bend my fingers like that... this is going to take at least a week for me to barely be able to do it... sigh :(

  • is hammering supposed to make a sound on acoustic?? i'm hammering as hard as i can and i seriously don't hear anything.. i'm probably doing it wrong though

  • No, it's very hard trying to to hammer ons on an acoustic guitar. If you compare the strings of an electric and the strings of an acoustic you'll notice that an acoustic has thicker harder strings. This is mostly because electric guitars need amplifies which.. well.. AMPLIFIES their sound. An Acoustic on the other hand makes a beautiful percussion (makes sound on it's own without needind another thing or factor to alter it) sound because there's a hole in the middle of the acoustic guitars.

  • i started playing guitar about 2 months ago.i also had trouble in the beginning with my pinky not reaching the string,at first i thot i was never gonna pull off the hammer on with my pinky, i practiced and practised it like a madman and now i can easily do that.

practice practice and practice more youl get the hang off it in no time

  • Ok I can't do the hammering, I have the same problem as supertubes, my fingers are to short, and im 13, any help?

  • Practice and practice some more, don't worry about how long your fingers are as long as you use good technique and work on flexibility you'll get better

  • i cant hammer frm 5 to 8 cos my fingers arnt long enough how sad im 16 any tips?

  • you can't use your first finger on 5 and hammer on with your pinky finger on 8? if that's not possible, I'd recommend sliding from 5 to 8, it gives it a cool effect and you still get what you want

  • Your epic win

  • omg i love u,iv only watched 2 of youre vids and have learned loads, thank u :) very cool

  • im using acoustic guitar, the hammer and pull-out doesn't seem to work right. is hammer and pull-out only applicable to electric guitar?

  • Yeah. I'm un accoustic and it doesnt really work well. I think its only for electric so dont worry.

  • thanks!

  • I am playing the acoustic too. For me, both work. The problem is that I guess my hammer ons are not forceful enough (and then again, I am playing an acoustic...), so they are faint. I'm able to do the pulloffs pretty well.

  • Well,I too play the accoustic.I find the pull offs quite faint on the upper four strings but the hammer ons fairly easy and clear on all the strings.

  • I just did them both on an acoustic.. Only works if you put force onto the hammer action, (make it a quick movement). If you just hold down the string firmly it won't work.

  • Great, perfect!

    Grazie from Italy

  • The tab at the bottom and side of the video is a great idea. I knew about hammer on but not about pull-off. Thanks !

  • omg how does he do that@_@ i cant seem to get the hammer on down on the low e string

my pinky just cant reach that

i just noticed also that my pinkys a lil bit crooked T_T

evrything was goin supergreat untill the hammer on

    any tips!?

  • ya...keep practicing it! over and over again till you more strength in pinky as well as stretching it. I had that same problem too. When is tarted learning couple years back , I always avoided it by being a little more quick with my ring finger....but that was kinda cheating...

  • That's a pentatonic minor scale he demonstrated in the video. The blues scale adds a flattened 5th note (don't confuse yourself about understanding what that means, just go look up the REAL blues scale pattern). I respect this guy's videos a LOT because he got me started, but this is the only fluke in his lessons. Not a big deal really.

  • i have to agree with you because i use the blues scale all the time and it does have a flatted fifth what hes doing is minor pentatonic

  • i saw a different blues scale before, how do you determine which scale is the blues scale?

  • Yes, the hammer in acustic guitars is real

    XD

  • really this guy clears all dobuts

  • where is flat 5?

  • Oh he said fret 5,

  • can u hammer on and pull off on a acoustic guitar?

  • yep

  • Ha even I, playing for 5 or 6 months, know that this is a pentatonic scale not a blues scale!

  • iv been playing for 4, i dont know jack, lol self tought.. :P should i get lessons?

  • the penatonic is basically the blues scale bar one note. So that was totally pointless.

  • Man if we play your rule the number 1 is the same as number 2, because it's not a big difference bewtween them! I didn't say that that was a big big mistake cause i know that he is a great guitar player! Chill out!!!

  • you teach me a lot~

    THX

  • This guy's amazing!

  • y the heck does it freeze the those circle things spin around every1 like 5 seconds i hate my computer >:(

  • THANS VERY MATCH

  • This is an 'A minor' pentatonic scale not a blues scale... Sample246 comments are accurate

  • I really respect your technique, but could you pleez teach complex hammer on and pull off licks like the ones Satriani does?

  • you mean legato?

  • duh.

  • "are you sold? good!" lol.

  • This scale is actually the minor pentatonic scale. The blues scale is the same scale with an added flattened fifth aka the "blues note". Instead of giving my comment a thumbs down, look it up. I'm correct.

  • *several thumbs up*

  • his accent sounds nice...

  • that is the blues scale dumb ass

  • I love this guy. These videos kick ass.

  • can classical do the hammering?....it seems a lil impossible 2 do so....tho...

  • yes, it does work on acoustic guitars, but imho its much easier to do on an electric one

  • does hammering work on acoustic guitars? bc i'm using one and its not working as well

  • If that was the truth, you'd think you'd hear what your saying ALOT on his other videos. So far, I haven't seen any complaints anywhere. Maybe it's just you. Have you tried calling them? They also have a Forum and Community, post there.

  • (Reply to peteUpTown)

  • haha,, when i first so him,,,lol,,, but now,, he's great!

  • I'm really good at pulling off. you should watch me!

  • dude rly helped me out thx

  • thanks man! i´m really learning loads with all your lessons. you rock ;)

  • thank you MAH LORD!

  • got my starter grx70 coming on wednesday, im so excited

  • cool!!

  • Is it normal for my hammer downs to sound so quiet since ive just started trying it?

  • im wondering the same question

  • make sure you hammer on as close to the metal part of the fret as possible. Also make sure to go down hard on it and with the tip of your finger. Gives you more sustain and it helps out alot. hope that helped!

  • i dont think that my hands are strong enough to make a louder sound yet ;(
