  • What a pretty score.

  • not really sure how i got here from justin bieber, but them fiddles sure are playing some funny sounds.

  • Very nice :D

  • and I thought the painting was the score...

  • je ne comprends pas la violence de la discussion...

  • The only thing that stands between Brian "Ok Guys, just fake it" Ferneyhough and Michael Nyman is an enormous pile of bullshit. You may pretend to yourselves that this represents the final word in the overall Hegelian evolutionary development pof musical endeavour. You can even pretend that every work and every note is born from the profoundest thinking. Or you can simply look at how prolific these guys are and marvel at their commercial nous.

  • @egapnala65

Oh hey, is your username your name spelled backwards? That's so cool and cooky! I think that you should reread Hegel's lectures on aesthetics, though, assuming that you read them in the first place, because you don't understand him whatsoever. But I admit that he's a better namedrop than like . . . Nietzsche, or something. So he's second-to-last tier.

Love your poetry reading. Especially the breathy hissing and upturned collars on your polo shirts. Matches your 80's rims.

  • @John11inch So you didn't engage with anything he said, but rather simply engaged in passive-aggressive ad hominem.

  • @jismith1989

Neither did you. Do you really think that 500 character limited comments are the place to discuss something seriously? Do you honestly believe that serious discussion is what he's interested in? Get real.

  • @jismith1989 Why should John11inch have 'engaged' him? All egapnala did was say 'Ferneyhough sucks', the same thing every 11 year old does on every video of Justin Beiber. Then he dropped some names to include a bit of wieney-wagging , but all his comment amounted to was an insult to anyone who likes Ferneyhough.

  • @egapnala65 ..."commercial nous?"

call this what you will, but I don't think you could call anything about it "commercial"...

  • @egapnala65 i will take your ferneyhough hegelian evolutionary development conspiracy and raise you one bieber lacanian castration complex.

  • @egapnala65 You would do well to read a bit about what you despise. If you feel your blood boiling as you read, try to better yourself; if you can take anything away from it, know that "ok guys, just fake it" isn't a sentiment shared by most anybody else familiar with Ferneyhough. If anything, you might be most upset at the emphasis on the most employed technique for his pieces, mapping the rhythms to memory, which is surprisingly accurate in many cases. Very little faking involved.

  • brilliant performance.

  • Nice

  • Maybe this question exposes my ignorance, but who is the artist of the displayed visual?

    Beautiful music

  • Richard Galpin.

  • @John11inch .... and I thought it was the musical score.... Or is it? ...

BTW: Thanks for uploading this all, it is the only music I can work with, really.

  • Yes, of course. It the same with the first string's quartett of Lachenmann....

The Dioatima just played it there is several month....we can hope it will be recorded for a cd production !

  • wow! they play it with more spirituality than the Arditti's

  • nice.
