I dont know if there are different versions of the trick.. but the way i know it is.. 3 cards go on bottom and 3 cards on top of the other 3 stocks... same procedure goes with each stock (of course I'm just telling how the last part should be done...not actually revealing the "secret"... that is at least the way I know it)

I have to say if that's the best the masked nincompoop can do, then he is pitiful. Then they play that ominous music like from the movie "Jaws." which seems totally ludicrous and out of place for a dumb "Spectator deals cards in to endless boring piles " type of trick.
