  • Hey man, I've been doing some research on this and I have found overwhelming evidence of the positive effects. I am having problems finding the dosage with both. I know how much L-arginine to take alone, but what is the ratio when together. Should i take more of one then the other or should i take the same amount. Second, should i take it on an empty stomach so the effect is more potent. Thanks! Nice video!

  • The recommendation is to take Arginine and Lysine together on an empty stomach at night in a 1:1 ratio. However, there are doubts about taking them together in their "L" form because they compete with the same receptors. At least one should have a non-L form, ie. Arginine Pyroglutamate

  • From a medical perspective, Arginine (if taken at night) increases Growth Hormone synthesis.

    Growth hormone-->-->-->Congestive Heart Failure is the most common cause of death from increased growth hormone.

    Arginine (if taken prior to weight lifting)--> vasodilator. The main hazard here is that after a while your risk 2 things: 1) hypotension-->passout 2) Highout put cardiac failure

    In otherwords, I do not recommend it

  • I enjoy your videos, but I caught one thing wrong. Lysine is a great supplement to take, but not before your workout. When it comes to nitric oxide production, lysine inhibits this. That is why it is recommended for cold sores, because cold sores are fueled by nitrogen/arginine. When taking lysine, you will bring your nitic oxide levels down so they arent through the roof all day! So when you workout, and you take arginine,your nitric oxide levels explode, because of the maintenence from lysine!

  • take both of those and spring vally zinc, magnisum, calcuim pills(all in one pill) it will help you grow so much as a teen like 5 inches

  • lol, 500 mg is generally not a 'workout dose'. However, by personal experience, I do think that 1500 mg is potentially an effective amount, but it must be taken every day.

  • Hey can anyone give me some advice? Going through puberty and just wondering what combination and dosages of GABA, L-Glutamine, L-Arginie and L-Lysine (or anything else) will help increase my height. thanks

  • @Sleightofhandsz Eat real meals everyday. Make sure you get your protein, fats and carbs in everyday and a good amount of then. I mean don't substitute gaming for a meal and don't substitute a candy bar, chips and a soda for a real meal. Doing that will make sure you grown to your full potential. Height as we know it today....is simply genetics. There is nothing you can really do.

  • Thanks for posting this. I have been doing research on Arginine. I want to have increased muscle mass, naturally higher testosterone levels, and higher HGH. I'm almost 21 but I'm a little short so I'm hoping it can make me a bit taller lol. I know some people who aren't done growing til their early 20s.

    I take 3000mg a day, before bed (I've heard on an empty stomach and/or before bed is best), but I am thinking about increasing the dose. Sometimes I'll take it before working out too.

  • @RocknCorruptrepublic Ya look at david robinson former spurs player, he grew like 8" at 22 or something like that. As for arginine, if you do your research you will find that the last 4 human studies that have been done show that it does not increase performance, does nothing for nitrate levels or blood flow. The Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition just came out with a recent on comparing GlycoCarn and arginine and still nothing....

  • Say, have you ever taken a decent amount of L-Arginine and didn't work out? Did you feel any difference ? I have taken about 1.5 - 2 grams of L-Arginine without working out and didn't feel any difference.

  • i agree. But I think people take pre workouts for that extra boost from the caffiene.(spelled wrong)

    I would recommend taking a black cup of coffee with l-arginie, and l-lysinine before every workout. You may not feel the same buzz from no xplode, etc. But im sure you would get the same results.

    **Oh and if u wanna add some creatine or anything of that nature, then take beta alanine or kre alkyn.
