@ronnel1124 No, you only need to crouch to initiate a pounce from the ground. Once your hunter is airborne, it is no longer necessary to hold the crouch button. In fact, I'm gonna share a little secret with you: if you jump against a wall with your back facing it, it is possible to pounce off of it as you would any other wall jump. This way, you can instantly bust out a pounce without ever making any noise!

OKAY! I'm gonna clear up some confusion. On PC, the 's' key is default for moving backward, so if you're on a 360 pad, when I say "hold 's'" you should hold backward on the left stick to strafe backward.

It's also possible to do sideways wall jumps. That's outside the scope of this basic tutorial, though. If you wanna do it, follow my same instructions but face parallel to the wall and strafe into it while you do it.

Additionally, this will work in both L4D1 and L4D2. Now get pouncin'! >:D

This is the the second of like 6-7 techniques. You have wall jump, vertical wall climb, kai jumping, corner juping, vertical kai jumping, straving, and this one is new because you use 2 walls, while you can do it with 1 wall. aim up 80-90 degrees, pounce, hold s down and when pounce recharges, immediatly jump again. with perfect angle you climb wall with incredible speed. If you want to learn this, download the addon map: 'hunter training map'. 20 challenges of practice. complete em, you're pro.

L4D2=Hunter unfriendly, The only hunter spots are probably in Dead center, I've seen nothing usefull yet except for bridges ect ect ect. The trees are suckish to do.

Eh. I had another technique for this, but it's a lot different. It's for high pounces. You go diagonally up the wall to the side. :x Probably already been figured out though.

you can do that with KAI jumps also, its more comfortable for me, but you gotta be very good to do that, this is a great way for newbies to get to that place, (KAI is when you jump on 1 wall pouncing)

And you can also have a look at hunter pouncings on my homepage. it shows u fractions of the level and you can see how to do the highest damage. thanks

download a hunter training map from left4deadmaps

if you start up a game, then in the main menu open console. type in "map l4d_vs" choose a map from the list. when you load up the map turn cheats on "sv_cheats 1", then type in "sb_all_bot_team 1" for reasurance type it "mp_gamemode versus" and finally type in "jointeam 3" that will put you on the other team and you can practice anything you want. If you get killed you can just type in "z_spawn hunter" and that will automatically spawn you as hunter. IM me if u want anymore info.

if u want u can also increase the life of the hunter so it is harder for them to kill u so u dont have to respawn or increase the damage of a claw attack or pounce just type in z_hunter and a list of things should come up. if u decide to leave it as it is I advise that u do this type in : bind 0 "z_spawn hunter" (with the brakets) that way everytime u press 0 itll spawn u after u died :)

Max dmg with pounce is 25. Only way you get instant incaps is if u pounce someone off of something, like a ladder, and get fall damage in addition to pounce damage.

kyle if you play PC version you can instant incap a survivor if the max pounce dmg on the server is at 100 or more but downside is finding a place high enough to do so.....top of no mercy hospital on the sewers map for instance.

@jdbnomad I found a server named, "| nO.Ob | 6v6 Fun Server", and you can get INSTANT-KILL pounces. If you pounce someone from REALLY REALLY far away, the pounce will do 140 dmg and kill the victim
