i read this book as a child, i cried then, and i cry now. i can only imagine what compelled the author to write such words....o how i wish the ending would be different. :...(
The amount of books that make me cry is extremely low, but this is too breathtakingly amazing. It's not quite so sad, I feel happy for the Prince. He's finally returned home.
Quite a contrast hearing this story as an adult 3 decades after hearing it as a child. The little prince was Antoine Exupery's spiritual conscience, introspective journey, and the immortality of the soul, not a seperate person. When I first heard it as a child I had thought the little prince committed suicide which is quite the contrary, it was Exupary surviving being stranded and plane wrecked in the middle of a vast desert (the Sahara).
i've have never cried in a book before

When I read the book I felt no emotion. But when I heard this reading, I cried. I finally understood what the story was all about.
