  • It is Grass Pickerel i have 4 of them

  • Look at the barring on the pike in the first 5 seconds in the vid thats how i know its

    a pike

  • nice NORTHERN pike

  • the fish of a couple casts

  • @theYellowBooger You realize that even northerns start out small, right?

  • People, baby Pike have patterns that are similar to Pickerel or Muskie. That's why many people mistake it for a Pickerel or Muskie. As the baby PIKE grows, it's pattern will change and u will recognize more as a Pike now since it's grown it's true pattern when it's an adult in the wild. Hope this helps to ppl that are arguing. =)

  • To everyone debating over if this is a Pike or Grass Pickerel, the lake that I got it from does NOT have grass pickerel, it has Northern Pike. It's not a matter of opinion, its a fact.

  • @oOTerryTerryTerryOo Dude your right its a pike here in the netherlands we got a lot of them so i know for sure its a pike haha

  • northern pike havge yellow random marking down their body, chain pickerel have a chain like pattern around their yellow markings and grass pickerel almost have vertical bars down their body(like the one you have)

  • You cant tell unless it stops growing! markings on grass pike and northern pike are EXTREAMLY alike, IF it is a grass pike which i doubt it wont grow more than 14 inches or so but If its a northern pike which i think it is it'll get enormous like up to 5 feet long! (srry bout spelling) :)

  • minnow is saying oh shit, youre bigger than me, and have teeth... wait, what are you doing?aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

    R.I.P

  • minnow is like omg im screwed im fucked im screwed omg omg omg X.X

    R.I.P. minnow

  • ahh okkay!!!

  • im pretty sure thats a grass pickerel, it wont get over 14 inches

  • @skateorganic Nope, it's a Northern Pike

  • @oOTerryTerryTerryOo Thats a dirty old bird!

  • Cool

  • HE GOT 'EM!!! 0:37

  • I had a baby northern pike for years until my dad decided he didn't want a tank in his house anymore. Now that I've grown and have my own house, I'd like to get a pike again, they are my favorite wild fish. A pike and a crawfish would be a good combination to have. I like your video

  • so skilled hunter...

  • where did u get the pike

  • @101cooldog A lake near my house.

  • @oOTerryTerryTerryOo reminds me of a scene from nemo lol

  • @theYellowBooger lol, strong words for a prepubescent child.

  • in a couple of years can he be biting ma bait like that in a fishery?? haaha

  • hey where can i buy these at?

  • @MonsterFishBreeder I dunno.. I didn't buy mine.

  • @chipdasqrrl2 Mine took just a couple days.

  • yo i have an algae eater...will a pike eat it if i put it in the same tank

  • @EazyE6793 I wouldn't think so, as long as the Pike is well fed it should leave it alone I'd think.

  • We had goldfish in a pond out back. We caught two rock bass one day and put them in the pond. Came out the next day and you could tell where the rock bass had nipped the goldfishs' tails. We promptly re-caught them and put them back in the river. Apparently the leftover minnows we put in there weren't enough.

  • I also have pikes, And I want one of them in my aquarium. But I need a few tips. So, if you want to help me, anwser as soon as possible please. Here are some questions:

    1. What do they eat?

    2. How much liter is your aquarium?

    3. Can you keep pikes together?

    4. How much you feed in one day to one pike?

    Greetzz Jaholma...

  • @jaholma 1. small fish, bugs, etc 2. 50+ 3. No territorial 4. give him more than he can eat and he will be happy (several fish)

  • @jaholma What shlockg13 said.

  • i caught a 10 inch pike yesterday all it's doing is laying near the bottom, somethimes swimming but thats it, it that normal?

  • @imhaj Yeah, I'd say so. Give 'em a little while to adjust to tank life.

  • How big is the tank.

  • @FishLover563 60ish gallons.

  • i feel sorry that someone poisened ur tank if u live near la i can give u my hujeta pike btw im getting a new gatf so i need to get a new pike for a companion to the gatf

  • pike+goliath african tiger fish=top predator

  • wow thats cool. when your pike grows big, what are you going to do with him/her. you'd need a giant tank like 10,000 gallons to house a full grown pike thats like 50 inches long

  • @ugattibae Unfortunately someone contaminated the tank, killing him and a school of baby perch I used to have. But had that not happened I would have just released it once it got too large for my tank.

  • @oOTerryTerryTerryO Oh sorry about yout northern

  • @oOTerryTerryTerryOo how did you get a hold of a baby pike ? or that school of perch ? .... im trying to get my fresh water tank going ...

  • where you get that northern from?

  • A local lake near my house. Just dipped my net in some shallow weeds.

  • nice pike. how big is it?

  • He was a good 6-7 inches.

  • muskie? no spots for it only tiger stripes it could be a tiger muskie

  • No, it was definitely a Northern Pike. As it got older, it was easier to identify.

  • @fishsainia baby pike look like muskie but if you put a baby muskie next to that the muskie would be WAY thinner and narrower even at that age!!!

  • thats not a minnow thats either a baby sucker or chub

  • Thanks for clarifying that, even though its already been covered... >_>

  • is that a largemouth bass that swims by in the beginning?

  • Sure is.

  • Its not a Northern Pike by the way

  • Yeah, it is. I just figured the masses wouldn't know the difference between a young chub vs a minnow.

  • Haha this is awesome : D

  • You should have put Jaws soundtrack to this.

  • you know how many fish feeding videos use that song? too many.

  • he is so scewed lol

  • Just a baby one? I used to catch those with a net, is it living in there fine? how big?

  • Yeah, I had caught him with a net when he was about half an inch long. Unfortunately someone contaminated the tank, killing him and a school of baby perch I used to have. Up until then he was doing fine, eating any fish he could fit in his mouth. He was a good couple inches when he died.
