  • This kept me on the edge of my chair from start to end. :)

  • This is incredible. I discovered it watching Ingmar Bergman's last film, Saraband. The end is breathtaking. Those evil brass instruments !

  • bravo

  • Close Combat III for the win!

  • Great recording! Does anyone know by whom it was conductet?

  • I think this is Eugen Jochum conducting the Staatskapelle Dresden because it's very similar to that recording, but I'm not completely sure.

  • I want to know too, I'm assuming that all these "black cover" posts of 12 Clar will be by the same performers. This scherzo comes close to sounding like a Mahler scherzo; Bruckner seems to have been really breaking new ground for himself here. There's that mahlerian fury, desperation, even irony, which I have never thought of as a brucknerian trait. That "suspended" beat followed by the WHAM of the timpani: terrifying!
