  • WAaaaaay ahead of his time.I used hold the wire hangers used as antennas even put some alluminum foil on it.Listen to that voice.

  • LL back in the day sounded just like him.

  • @PoeticLikeNas I herd the big battles in NY was between Shan and LL.....CLASSIC HIP HOP

  • Im from Queensbridge i know Krs won the battle. But you have respect Shan went in also. His flow creativity amazin. I was just little shorty in the 80's when everything went down.

  • @Firstblk I would luv to hear that battle...is it on youtube

  • this may be the best song ever made

  • @megatron0357 hip hop ain't dead you motherfucker

  • mc shan one of raps best no doubt son he help pioneer this

  • @CUCHIE68 YES INDEED

  • if shan came out with a brand new album today he would literally shut down over half the rap industry and put most of 2 days rappers out of business

  • There's no competition cause there aint no comp. Fuck around with this and get a mud hole stomp! WHOOOOOO!

  • And Pumas the brand cause the Klan makes Troop! Remember how quick Troop died after that?!??!

  • I was just a little girl catchin da train from brooklyn to newark. I used to love this too. The beat still hot!

  • Still my favorite mc, when equals scream the bridge is over, I simply state this joint came after, and equals get on hush status immediately lol yell

  • one of the best shan jawns.

  • a lyrical beast from the east for real!!!

  • This is when rap was worth the money the artist gave you more than the standard three versus with a hook.

  • In my opinion, this is the greatest rap record ever made. Strong lyrics, humour, proper words & terms and none of this "shizzle my tizzle" bullshit.

  • dope unlke gay wanye

  • Haters cant even hate on this. 0 dislikes ftw

  • @ace12067 I ironed my Lee jeans so much that they had a white line on the crease! Lol!!

  • "NO RELATION WITH DRUGS BUT THIS IS DOPE ON PLASTIC" MAN HIS LYRICS ON THIS JOINT WERE BEFORE HIS THEIR TIME, FORREAL!!!

  • Lol, Shan never ever gained any weight!

  • CONFIDENT AND FULL OF CONVICTION..SHAN WAS IN HEAVAN ON THIS

  • This is badass!

  • Skinny Jeans

  • @SupaRockinBond no disrespect to skinny jeans of today, but what the brothers wore back in the day were not skinny jeans they were simply straight leg cut jeans and pants. it looks like skinny jeans compared to the later baggy look. the straight leg pants were loose fitting skinny jeans are much tighter than straight legs.

  • @truths2002 No seriously, disrespect the skinny jeans of today. Theyre fucking retarded looking.

  • Comment removed

  • @SupaRockinBond SKINNY HIM..LOL..YEAH..WE ROCKED STRAIGHT LEGS BACK THEN..IT DID'NT BENEFIT TO GO BAGGIE..UNTIL YOU GREW ALITTLE

  • This dude did pioneer this rap game.

  • I'll transform just like a decepticon and once i step to you boy you bout to get stepped upon. I rememeber comin' home from school

and bumpin' this joint, It changed my life

  • THIS WAS MY SHIT!!!! SHAN was a monster!!!!!

  • I bought this and UltraMag's Critical Beatdown album around the same time in '88. Both albums got played forever... One of my all time favs and yes... severely underated. Also, I hated all the soft love song shit rappers were doing back then. LL's I Need Love et al... but Shan's She's Gone was the only one I could stomach for some reason.

  • Quality hip hop... classic shit

  • niggas down SOUTH NEED TO BE REMINDED ABOUT REAL HIP HOP AND WHO STARTED IT...ONE QUESTION??HOW CAN NEW YORK CITY FALL OFF WE PIONEERED THIS HIPHOP SHIT !!!!

  • WORD!!!!!!! No Diss to Dirty, I just love NY Hip Hop. It's not music, it's culture.

  • hip hop sucks cuz n.y. tries to be like the south and the west too much lately they lost touch with their roots

  • i remember breaking open the panel to the street light post to get an electric current to supply my dj power to rock a hollis park jam when this jam came out now thats real hip hop love this jam HOLLIS CREW BOY QUEENS NO DOUBT

  • a shame that one of the best songs in Hip Hop History only has 1.114 views!

  • man i remember when this came out in '88, niggas was like "Shan was dissin LL and RUSH management"!! he got his shit off on this track. marley marl put in some serious work on this cut also. do you hear how many samples he layered this song with.

  • WORD! This is a hot jam from the golden era. Cats was selling crack a mile a minute. (NOT ME THOUGH)

  • Marley went IN on this track. Shan was on another level lyrically on that entire album. Peep the verse: 'cuz i write rhymes in more than just 2 scoops/and Polo's the brand 'cuz the Klan makes Troops

remember how they was saying that back in the days? using that, he was able to get at LL once again! Shan was sick with it.

with that said i don't know how he could fall off so badly after this album. nonetheless he deserve credit (with marley) for creating amazing, classic material. peace

  • This was the BEST shit Shan will EVER spit. And he STILL couldn't fuck with LL.

  • Def. Word!

  • his lyrics here were INSANE.....Shan ripped this shit for real......gotta love hip-hop baby!
