Maestro Wild is quite right about the extraneous movements and "swooning" pianists are want to put in their playing. The old masters, like the Maestro have learned not to do this long ago, and here he is trying to pass on that important message.
Just found out Earl Wild died a week or so ago. He was the BEST interpreter of Liszt's music. And this Master Class clip shows what a wonderful pianist and teacher he was. The world has lost one of the Great Ones with his passing.
Yo lo presenté en la Argentina y Uruguay en 1975/6.Que genial.!Este video es para mí un regalo muy preciado.Acaba de cumplir 94 años.Que Dios lo conserve.Gracias a Youtube,
Earl is very gentle and charming....a supervirtuoso who has been out there for so long! This was great.....I've attended masterclasses which seemed torturous.....Earl is so kind.
I have been waiting anxiously since July 2005 for this event (or excerpts of) to be posted! I had the amazing opportunity to attend this very Masterclass and meet Mr. Wild himself! Be sure to look at the ikifny channel to see the interview with Earl Wild! Thank you for posting this; this was a very special day for me!

"I've got news for you....God doesn't help anybody."
Well, Earl. Now you know if what you said is true or not. I hope you picked the right option.

It is so heart warming to see him so lively and healthy in these recent times, given his age. He doesn't seem 90 here!
