  • I became the unofficial "ambassador" of this airline in 2010. :D

  • Oh he just wanted that lady to touch him.lol

  • I had a woman with a heart attack recentlyon a plane from Thailand. We had to emergency-land in Helsinki. It was pretty disturbing.

  • Why are you recording in-flight? I find that extremely inconsiderate that you think you have the right to record other passengers without their consent, especially in the circumstances of a perceived emergency. If I had been on that flight it would've been your last recording.

  • @gthrash1984 Public venue. If you don't want to be filmed in public, don't go out in public.

  • Stop talking shit this JVCDUDE why don't you go and catch a fish in HOPE

  • @Jayratsena you are really bad at insults

  • The old guy probably was sleeping and breathing slow. Really slow. Idk

  • Then someone says, "Hey, after you're done bringing that man back to life, do you think you could bring me a few packs of those honeynuts I asked for an hour ago?"

    LOL.

  • Which flight company is better ? Westjet or Sunwing ?

  • yeah this video is filled with fagget tree

  • "They brought the man back to life"

    That's just plane wrong.

  • JCVdude, you are a total imbecile! And btw, congratulations, you've exceeded the stupidity of modern day reporters. The man is seen TALKING but the wannabe-reporter still says "he stopped breathing". Anything for a rating on YouTube? Or are you still dreaming someone will see this and invite you to work for CNN?

  • Why would this loser video tape this! Totally inappropriate.

  • @edaxut STFU dork

  • @plasticspastic201 Get some manners, young man. Or, in the language you understand best, YOU STFU BITCH!

  • @Maloy7800 Hey Turd- relisher. Try enjoying youtube instead of commenting on why people take videos ok? why are you watching it if you find it so offensive you total retarded piece of shit. i shit on you and your whole ancestral line and offspring you motherfucker.

  • @edaxut That's a very good question. Our little wannabe-reporter decided to "bring truth to the world".

  • That's the Canada I know and love--where people are decent and look out for each other. Even if this is merely standard operating procedure for Westjet, the lack of indifference (yes, LACK of indifference) is heartening.

  • @Coaljet Oh please! Cry me a river. It's just a standard procedure performed by the cabin crew.

  • thats realy great... hopefully he is ok

  • WestJet are great!

  • Many airlines have direct connections to hospitals that can tell a plane whether it should land or they can continue their flight. I worked at a level one trauma center and it had a special room that monitored flights and would take the health scare calls from flights. Doctors and nurses would respond to the flight crew, and based on the person's symptoms, they would advise the plane to make an emergency landing or continue the flight.

  • such nice people and flight. :) Hi Joanne!

  • i love westjet, they are the most friendly, accommodating , just the most coolest real people air line out there, air canada can go suck it.

  • If she was looking at me I would probably lose consciousness!

  • Just be glad you now all have full medical equipment on board. Way way back in time - 70's It used to be some band aids and some gauze.

  • @isanythingavaialble

And booze for the pain :D

  • DONT TOUCH ME

  • "promptly they brought the man back to life..." lol

  • Cynthia is my great grandmother. She has a HUGE vagina.

  • People like you annoy me. I'd like to be able to do my job without cameras in my face.. our job isn't too glamorous.

  • @ladysensei89 we all love you for what you do, we might not say it,---cause were happy to be on the ground--- but trust me when i say, "thankyou" , also please define glamorous, you help us feel safe, and secure, and happy, west jet rules .

  • Lol how old is this guy?

"They brought the man back to life and it was absolutely amazing"

    Rofl.

  • WestJet is one hell of an airline!!!

  • One time i was in a Jumbo jet and a man fell on the stairs to the second stairs and he went unconsciousness and luckily a doctor was aboard

  • the lady behind looks like she did it! who else reads a newspaper in these situations?

  • smells like commercial

  • This...This TV in every seats....Doesn't it emit some kind of radiations so when u lie ur head on the seat, it is bad for you ? I wouldn't sleep on a seat like tht !

  • air canada sucks sweaty balls sack

  • Nice crew - nice passengers

  • nice ending

  • He didn't stop breathing, he lost consciousness probably due to hypoxia (low oxygen level in the blood) and all he needed was oxygen. Quite a common thing onboard aircraft. I'm a flight attendant and putting someone on oxygen is a common occurrence. Stop making such a big deal out it, he was not 'brought back to life'

  • He didn't stop breathing, he lost consciousness probably due to hypoxia (low oxygen level in the blood) and all he needed was oxygen. Quite a common thing onboard aircraft. I'm a flight attendant and putting someone on oxygen is a common occurrence. Stop making such a big deal out of nothing

  • @Mogenic69 exactly - happens every single night flight at about 4am....

  • @Mogenic69 I agree 100% Hypoxia can be a bitch sometimes. Especially if you're a pilot like me.

  • @Mogenic69 Chill out flight attendant... with that attitude I hope you don't even have to put anybody on oxygen !

  • @Mogenic69

    You got a facebook?

  • @Mogenic69 Thanks for enlightening us as to how much this happens. But it's crazy to say 'stop making such a big deal out of nothing'. Just because you see this fairly often, doesn't mean it is normal!! A human being who stops breathing is NOT normal under any circumstances. And if this is happening that often on your flights, then something serious is going on which is endangering passengers. I know a Qantas Captain who has done 19,000 hours on the Airbus A330 and never seen this!

  • Comment removed

  • @Mogenic69 you should get fired

  • @Mogenic69 OK

  • @Mogenic69 It might be a not big deal for you , but for the rest of us as a passenger something like these is a big deal, especially when most of the airlines employees treats passenger like no big deal...

  • @Mogenic69 it's something people (Majority) don't see everyday...

  • @Mogenic69 It might be usual to you but not to many people so stop bragging .**with all due respect.

  • @Mogenic69 lol are you stupid? Flight attendants think they know everything. the cabin is pressurized to a certain altitude. because of the actual altitude your flying at, is un-survivable. For the man to have been affected by "hypoxia" the whole cabin would have had to been pressurized to the wrong altitude, or not pressurized at all. which isn't the case at all, cause if it was, then everyone in the plane would be experiencing the hypoxia affect. Know your stuff before you preach it.

  • @zidane583 I agree!

  • This man was no where near needing to be 'brought back to life.' If this man is talking to the crew he can breathe. Also, if he is not breathing he can still have a pulse and be alive. I want to be with this crew, the next time I need to be brought to life.

  • Brought him back to life? That's one hell of a crew.

  • @chipmunkmoni indeed, LOL.

  • psrpippy, you don't perform CPR for someone who has stopped breathing, you perform rescue breathing.

  • very well done!!!nexcellent job!!!

  • veteran flight attendants are bitches. treat people like shit and just dont care. the new people are always the most friendly an caring.

  • I have such a fear of flying. I can fly and do so often but this video make me cry thinking how important flight attendant training is. Thank you for posting.

  • @athdawg24 I've flown on a few different airlines, and WestJet is just the best. They have the nicest crew each time I flew with them.

  • the old lady (wearing green) looks so professional tht's good to know.

  • @zidane583 that's why they made 787 dream liner! ;)

  • Pay these people more $.

  • @SnakemanJeffss Or pounds Euros ETC

  • @SnakemanJeffss Yeaaahhh... as soon as the kid in front of me stops banging the hell out of my knees.

  • Having trained flight crews on how to handle in-flight emergencies (and familiarized them with the equipment) I have to agree that this patient was only experiencing shortness of breath, not "quit breathing". I agree that ventilations would be performed and more than likely CPR would begin. However, while traveling and teaching flight crews, I experienced a couple of times the 'in-flight emergency' and actually both times were valid problems.

Cudos to the flight crew, and safe travels! :D

  • MAN WESTJET IS A GOOD AIRLINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROCK ON WESTJET!

  • Joe made a friend lol

  • I fly westjet every time I have too fly. I simply love the service I have gotten in the past and the prices are so affordable for me. I rate Westjet 5 stars on prices and 5 stars on the flight staff service.

  • @newstream2010 I agree completely.

  • How can you even be qualified to make a statment like "he stopped breathing and they brought him back to life"?????? As a paramedic, I've seen countless people stop breathing, and they don't usually start again...... Even with the help of paramedics and an ambulance full of gear or a doctor in a hospital, let alone an airliner. People are so naive.

  • what happens when you're blow up co-pilot deflates.

  • what a bunch of lying assholes!!! just what was the 'emergency' and how did they handle it!!!!! in real life if you had a heart attack the lousey 'stews' wouldn't know what to do and you'd die!!!! flight attendants are just low class redneck crap!!!!!

  • @atfatw You are such a great, loving person aren't you?

  • @h0pje

as a matter of act I aspire to be. which is more than I can say about the stews.

  • @atfatw Why do you continue to troll Youtube making your rude comments? It really is time to grow up and get a life of your own instead of watching everyone else's.

  • well atfatw , what you have done here is describe yourself. why don't you tell the "stews" who you are and what you think of them next time you fly! so in case you get ill they can leave you alone!

you're a big man behind your computer. Go outside get some air...

  • @sikabiss

just another poophead why don't you move to holland and get a sex change at least as a broad you would be a lot smarter than you are now. its the difference between being a PHD and a slug

  • @atfatw which airline or airlines rejected you a job as a Flight Attendant?? Im sure if you continue to keep applying to the airlines you will get hired someday ! Keep trying and you will suceed ! :D

  • wow nice lady and great video.. caught on film man very well done JCVdude..

  • wow good to know I wondered about this myself, good to know thanks! Also what do you think is in those masks that dropdown? goodnight~your not about to die just having a little cat nap...

  • Well I am gonna be traveling in Westjet to Toronto. Now I know how good the service is there. So I made the right choice to travel in the right airline.

  • @fancytoon285 i live in toronto so wen u make the trip one thing i needa tell u avoid tenns/adults wearin all black/red.or blue those are gang colours red is for bloods blue is for crips and black is just a gang colour i dont know that gang tho yet

  • Nope. Sorry.

  • This does not qualify as an inflight emergency.

  • yep it does.

  • It infact does. Medical emergency.

  • joan is famous, anymore xD

  • I think I know the flight attendant at 0:23. Her name is Sarah. either that or she has a twin.

  • @Sentinal77 dang she's cute!!

  • You are able to film if you follow all laws, and rules of the airline, also if any of the crew tells you to turn it off then you have to follow commands. He has every right to judge the performance if the crew didn't do anything the man would surely be dead.

  • If he had stopped breathing then the crew would have got him on to the floor and commenced CPR, as it is he looks like he is just having trouble breathing which is treated by making the patient comfortable and administering oxygen.

  • @psrpippy

are they trained experienced paramedics? or are they just having some basic instruction? do they have defibulators with them?

  • @atfatw Defibulatiors are basic equipment on all aircraft and flight attendants are all qualified on their use.

  • @atfatw yes they have defibulators

  • @psrpippy

    Agreed.

  • @psrpippy well its no good doing cpr if hes still breathing lol he'll choke on your air rofl

  • @psrpippy

CPR has nothing to do with breathing. CPR is the pumping of the heart. if that has stopped. If a person has just stopped breathing, but there is still a pulse, then you can simply do rescue breathing. That can be done from any position (including in the seat). If you do CPR to someone that just isn't breathing, then you will probably kill them.

  • Comment removed

  • @psrpippy CPR because he stops breathing?? Maybe you should learn First Aid..

  • @headells Thank you for your concern, but there really isn't any need for me to learn First Aid as I happen to be an instructor for one of the worlds largest airlines and my partner is a doctor.

  • From what I saw in your video with the care being given and the crew reaction the man did not stop breathing.

  • Very professionally run airline

  • thank you for the video, if anything it makes me feel better about flying since I can clearly see how well trained they are on the plane :)

  • Cheers for the vid mate, im trying to soak up as much info as possible on this kind of situations as this might soon be my new job. Got an interview and tests on friday...looking forward to it. ^^

  • My tuna smells like creosote.

  • You sound like Tommy Wiseau, lol.

  • every second dickhead has his say thinking his smart when it comes to planes, usually if you know it someone else dose too stop competing.

  • What!!?? don't you know that all cabin crew are trained to deal with these kind of things and also I hope you stop breathing on a flight so someone can put you on youtube.

  • @TheRydo100 well done this is a great comment

  • actually, thats not the slightest bit true. there are plenty of airlines with below average training. West Jet goes above and beyond for their guests. don't attack people when you don't know what you are talking about. he was simply making a video of how he was impressed with their service.

  • WHY? Did you record some one having problems on a aircraft. You would not like this on youtube if this happened to YOU!!

  • Check out LANDING IN INDIANAPOLIS by going to my page!!!!!!

  • haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • this is so stupid..you think you recorded an oscar winner movie? you stupid this happnes every day and this is such aminos thing that in ur small brain of course its a great deal......moron

  • wow dude, you got problems. he was just making a video of how he thought the service was good. i dont see, or hear anything, anywhere about how he thinks he made an oscar winning movie. why would you watch this video if you are so aware of these things happening every day? if its so common, then your post was a complete waste of time because everyone would know what you are thinking... but i dont see any other comments... doesnt that make you the moron?

  • I dig Joanne. Wonder if she's in the Mile High Club?

  • It happened to my mother once when we went to thailand :/

  • There is no evidence of an emergency or that someone stopped breathing. What it seems is that an elderly passenger requested oxygen.

  • All airline crew are trained on how to handle medical emergencies. If you look on your next flight you may see medical equipment strategically placed throughout the cabin, Good video.

  • Westjet is a good airline. They only fly domestic or to the US . They're young and have potential. AC on the other hand is a veteran company and has a way way bigger fleet that flies to more destinations than WJ. Due to the age of the company, AC's management is pretty screwed up. They're restructuring right now. It'll take awhile.

Yes some people say AC is better and some say WJ is better, but it doesn't matter, we need both airlines to be in business for Canadian economy to work.

  • @lineage129 I agree, but the 3 times I flew with AC were quite bad experiences. The first time, the original flight was delayed 3 hours, then they told us they will switch us over to a different flight (the lady was very rude) which was also an hour delayed and the crew was rude. the second time, they were delayed 3 hours and they lost my luggage. The third time, the flight attendant who asked me what I wanted to drink was pretty rude too... so I avoid AC if i can help it

  • woodtiger

you wouldn't be saying.....Air Canada sucks..when you're going to fly international. And if Air canada didn't excist, you would be crying for mommy.

  • No video of the emergency. Stop claiming what you don't have... that's called LYING.

  • Westjet.. KEEP IT UP.. you are the best airline.. I just wish you flew to more places.. YOU ROCK!!!

  • I'm sure the guy would be very pleased to know that you were videotaping his medical emergency

  • It's been a long time since I flew. Those TVs in the headrest... First Class or just certain airlines?

  • theres tv's in all of westjets 737 as far as i no....west jet is the only plane i usally fly

  • 777 also have them

  • WEstjet doesn't have First Class, they have one class only and thats economy. All Westjets Planes offer the TV's. Live Satellite tv, I love it because I NEVER miss a show when I fly Westjet, I watch it on the plane!

Westjet is by far the best way to fly, If you ever get a chance to fly Westjet do it, you will not be sorry!!!

I only fly Westjet, Air Canada sucks ass as well do their service and staff, especially most of their in-flight crew!

  • Bonus. Thanks for the tip. I'll keep them in mind the next time I need wings. :)

  • Lots of airlines have the TV's now. Jet Blue, Air Canada, Virgin America, United (only certain aircraft), and just about any long-haul carrier has them now. Most of them have a satellite dish on the roof of the aircraft (more like a small dome) so that they can receive satellite TV (DirecTV).

  • Americans love to talk about suing people. Their justice system stinks, is so politicised and highly corrupt. Am pleased I don't live there, there healthcare system is a shambles also.

  • americans like to talk about justice because they know they are the worst mankind on earth and they are the reason justice is never served on this planet!!!!!!!!

  • @abercrombieToronto

Haha, abercrombie's still from new york and your country still sucks ass :P

  • sean depends what u want, if u want free healthcare go to canada if u wanna be a fatass go to us haahah

  • I can't believe you recorded that...i'd take legal action and sue your butt for recording me, had that been myself being the ill passenger....

  • Great video, did they have to land at the nearest Airport after that happened? Cause even if they treat them and they feel better they still turn back. Did this Flight do that, or did you just keep on flying?

  • Veteran Flight Attendants are worth more than their weight in gold.

  • @bodhispapa

Absolutly ! i compleatly agree 100% ! And it really annoys me when people complain about "old bags on the plane" Age is irrevalant ! And you just cant beat experiance ! You just cant !

  • this made me smile :-)

  • Bravo to WestJet!!

  • LOL that a credit card slot?

  • If your credit is bad, you get ejected.

  • Some so called 5 star international airlines would not get someone back to breathing..in fact they do not even give you a smile!

  • Westjet is a Canadian airline.

  • Ya WestJet is Canadian...don't flatter youself.

  • Fail! Westjet is Canadian!

  • westjet doesnt fly from flagstaff to los angles, wait a minute ur thinking of the old allegiant, not this is the CANADAIN AIRLINE

  • that crew member in the green looked very motherly which is awesome :)

  • might have good service but their flight attendants are mean

  • where r u from u douchebag? wat the fuck? get a brain there are the nicest people ever

  • chill i was flying home for flagstaff to los angeles and the lady got mad at me cuz i asked her to switch my order to water instead of coke she said "oh now you want water!" i said"....ummm ya" and she goes "fine ill go get it"

  • yeah but Delta Airlines is the largest airline with the most in the fleet (Thank you Northwest merger) and by destinations available.

  • DELTA- Dont Expect Luggage To Arrive

    -Didnt Even Leave The Airport

  • There smart to do what they do

  • My hat is off to those stewards

  • romally if a doctor is on board they will actually come to aid, I was on a singapore airlines flight and my dad had difficulty breathing and the stuwards/stewardese, came to aid plus the doctor.

  • Impressive video. I also thought of those events happening also what happens if you start choking ....yes there is no time once you are 38,000 ft up.

Time is time and when the number is up...nothing you can do but to accept!

Attendants are well trained professionals in their own right....God Bless Them.

  • i love small airlines.. they are more family like than any other big airline

  • Just because they are a small Airline it doesn't mean they cut corners!

  • Of course the crew was well trained for this emmergency. What did you expect!

  • its always great. to see a happy ending, its 7 -17-2009, is west jet still flying, to they fly say from toronto to sea tac ?. nice vid too.

  • Wow, lol I have to start flying with u more often

  • <
