  • Hello. I'm Carvel's Cookie Puss. C.P. The Celestial Person.

The new Carvel ice cream cake made fresh daily at your participating Carvel Ice Cream store. Now, for St. Patrick's Day, I'd like to introduce my friend, Cookie O'Puss.

Me name is Cookie O'Puss, the fresh Carvel Ice Cream cake. You can also be sending either of us to a friend by calling this toll free number. And we honor most major credit cards too. Thanks and a great day to you now.

Guess you had to be from NY.

  • O_____________________________O

  • WHAT THE FUCK

  • I'm going to make my own ice cream cake and it's called Creamy Puss

  • lol, such creepy memories

  • Was there any flavor back in the 80's they had like a creepy o Puss

  • nanerpuss

  • that MUST be the worst choice of name EVER

  • Okay, seriously. That accent made me cringe, and I'm not even Irish. A couple of my Irish friends would cover the nearest Carvel store in gasoline and set it on fire if they heard this. :)

  • you can totally tell by IT'S voice that cookie puss sounds like it from long island

  • a-MAZING

    freakin awesome man, AWESOME

  • roflmao!

  • haha...When I hear this I think of when Fred from the Howard Stern show got his mother a Cookie O Puss for Mother's day. that was a great skit when Howard did the Cookie O Puss voice through out the show...LOL!!

  • accck! I hated cookie puss.....its so creepy. carvells was good though.

  • Aha here is were the Beastie Boys came out with there first single Cookie Puss.

I still have the original vinyl release mounted on my wall.

    NICE!

  • truly scary commercial. the original Carvel store (in Hartsdale, NY-not Brooklyn) recently closed.

  • yeah..I saw that...they are knocking it down..I am not sure what they are putting in its place

  • Even all that space echo on the voice of

Cookie 'O Puss, the Intergalactic Irish

Ice Cream Alien, I can still hear that Brooklyn accent.

  • 0:18 i laughed my ass off "me name is cookie o puss"

  • HELL YEAS!

  • OMG, who WOULDN'T want a surprise Cookie Puss?!?!?

  • im scared

  • Celestial Person???

    0_o

  • Nightmare fuel i say

  • Why is a cake talking about credit cards? lol

Anyways, thanks for bringing this up.

  • lmao i named my old cat cookiepuss

  • my grandfather was the voice of cookie o puss and was tom carvel's right hand man in brooklyn the original carvel

  • "celestial puss" xD

  • Thats creepy as hell lol. The ones where the Carvel dude accually talked in were creepier though. I hated those when I was little.

  • Hello, do you have Cookie Puss's number?

  • "Where's Cooky Puss at? I want to speak to them!"

  • Its funny when you see a cute cake communicating with children and then he starts reading out payment options. lol Couldn't they just write it on the bottom that they can accept credit cards?

  • Wow...

    I remember that exact commercial...

    Cookie O'Puss!!!!!!

  • and encourage. But even though it's going to be true that every TV series I ever liked will eventually be available on DVD or for download, there are still things that will never make it to the retail-purchase arena. Look at this stuff. There's no real money to be made in putting out a DVD of The Best of Cotler Clothes Commercials. But I want to watch those commercials anyway. That's why I make this page: to give me, maybe you out there, yet another place to go, "Oh, yeahhhhhh, I remember that."

  • I'm happy to live at this time in history, when technology has taken off to such a level that it's really viable for people to download individual episodes of TV and radio shows. On-demand is an entertainment model I embrace and encourage. But even though it's going to be true that every TV series I ever liked will eventually be available on DVD or for download, there are still things that will never make it to the retail-purchase arena. Look at this stuff. There's no real money to be made in...

  • "Where's Cookie Puss at? I want to speak to him! Or Cookie O'Puss. Anyone! I want to speak to them, man!"

  • "Yo man I'll House you!"

  • "Just now and shit. You know. Just shit now. Talking now baby."

  • OMG I Am afraid to go to sleep, I am going to have nightmares about this cookie puss!!! This commercial is freaky!

  • Wow. Am I frying again?

  • That's the worst Irish brogue since Lucky Charms! One of my favorite commercials.

  • Anyone remember when Howard Stern did his Cookie Puss bit?

  • I remember that like it was yesterday. Didn't Jackie send one to his mother for her birthday or something?

  • Fred sent his mom a Cooky Puss.

  • YES!!!! That was the greatest thing ever!!!!

  • Does he still do it on Satellite?

    I don't have Sirrius.

  • Yes, I remember that! He did one where he tried to contact God for the weather, but got the crew from the space shuttle Challenger. They were visited by Cookie puss, and when Howard told them that he was an ice cream cake, they tried to eat Cookie Puss, and he was like, "Nooooo! Stop iiiiiit!" What really made me laugh was when CP said, "No, no, no! Now you're eating my armpit!"

  • He also did a bit where he was trying to contact God for the weather, but got Cookie Puss himself, who was having a party. And Cookie Puss was acting all tough with Howard for talking smack about him and Fudgie the Whale, and saying that Dumpty the Pumpkin wanted to go to his house and blow his head off. CP was playing Duran Duran, and talking about how cool he was, and what celebrities he hung out with. (continued next post)

  • (continued) Also, when Howard asked him if he drove a Mercedes, CP said, "Damn right--when the Rolls is in the shop!" Then in the background, you hear a woman lusting after Cookie Puss saying stuff like "Please my darling! I'm burning for you." When Howard asked who that was, CP said it was his new lady, Britt Ecklund (google her--she was a Bond girl, and in the original version of "The Wicker Man"--VERY HOT!). Then CP said, "Well, I must go, now. See you soon! Bye-BYYYYEEEE!"--just like the ad.

  • God, that bit was the BEST - early 1991. Howard put on the vocal harmonizer to pitch up his voice really high to be Cookie Puss, and ragged on Fred for getting his mum that for Mother's day while Fred got more and more irritated...

Ah, and then Cookie-Puss started talking trash as Tom Carvel had just passed away: how he hated Fudgie the Whale, and about the new "adult" line of Cakes like "Cheesy the Foot" and "Fudgie the Underpants"...

  • this is so genius

  • I love the song Beastie Boys did about this! "Cookie Puss? Maybe I should scratch..."

  • Its great, they actually phone up a carvel store in the song asking to talk to cookie puss!

"Hey man put cookie puss on the line" lol

  • God they used to play that track all the time on late-nite rap and alt-radio shows in NYC in the early 80's... "All these pussy crumbs are making me itch!!! Maybe I should scratch!!!"

"Pussy crumbs? What are pussy crumbs?"

  • This is so weird, lol.

I thought you only saw this kind of strangeness in Japan.

  • "Cookie O'Pus"was promoted during

WPIX TV Ch.11 NYC's annual broadcasts

    of NYC's St.Patrick's Day Parades!

  • So wrong it's right, possibly the best bad advertising the Tri-state area has ever produced.

  • that's kinda creepy...and "cookie puss" just kinda sounds wrong lol

  • "celestial puss" ---what the fuck

  • genius

  • Yum

  • Fudgie the Whale... for a whale of a boy!

  • Carvel was, and still is, the best. We used toget these in Woodlawn all the time, just a few miles from the big factory in Yonkers. Went there last week :-) Bought a few flying saucers and some cherry bonnets, great stuff! RIP Tom

  • I grew up in Woodlawn, too. E. 234th Street between Webster & Vireo =)

  • Cookie Puss the celestial being from ya Paticipatin' Cauvel ice cream stoah. ROTFL!! Cookie Puss must be from the Brooklyn section of Mars! I love these old Carvel commercials. They have a genuine warmth and charm that will never be matched.

  • Hello I'm Cookie O'Puss !!!! :)

  • I WANT MY COOKIE PUSSY CAKE NOW!!!!

  • I used to get a Cookie Puss cake every birthday, from ages 4 though 11.

  • awsome

  • Vintage tv.

  • Patton Oswalt's routine on the Carvel cakes made me CRY I laughed so hard!! It's better if you're familiar with Carvel and the three standard cake molds. "Patty O'Crippley" was just too funny.

  • Awesome stuff, what a blast form the past! "Hello, me name is Cookie O'Puss" LOL

  • Hey, I remember eating you on my birthday when I was just a little pup. I was so excited to eat your ice cream nose, but then I came to realize that your cone had a hole in the bottom, so you leaked all over me! I admit though, you were damn tasty. I forgive you puss.

  • Ha! I didn't know Cookie O'Puss was real. I only remember Fudgie The Whale and Cookie Puss. Cookie O'Puss was mentioned on a Family Guy episode.

A lot of people think this was an east-coast thing, but these ads ran on Phoenix TV all the time in the 70's and 80's. There's a Carvell's store just outside Grand Canyon National Park. And there's a grocery chain out here that sells Carvell ice-cream cakes...sadly Cookie and Fudgie are not available, though.

  • Has anyone heard Patton Oswalt's bit about tom carvel? He talks about "Patty O'Crippley" the debilitated leprechaun cake

  • Strangely, while I am not Irish, I am offended.

  • 'Tanks and have a grand day to ya now'

    brilliant.
