Sea Shepherd is nothing but criminals. They`ve been in Norway to where they sunk some small whale-vessels at dock. Thankfully the Norwegian coast guard took care of them.
I hunt seals in northern Norway. In doing so i am contributing to the caretaking of the wildlife. No regrets.

Instead, they research other species in non lethal way. They publish their research result every year, that includes data for other species too.

@Eatmybologna We know all mammals are incredibly socially complex. Yes, whales are as intelligent as pigs. Yet, we have been killing and eating those mammals, from the beginning of our history. Now we realized it is not good and we now respect the biodiversity. We no longer hunt any species if endangered, whether intelligent or not, even without the brain. It is the consensus internationally agreed upon that we should not harvest if it is endangered. Otherwise, no consensus or rules to follow.

@Eatmybologna There is no consensus that dolphin is the second smartest animal on this planet after the human beings. The general consensus is still some primates are smarter than other animals. We know only gorillas and chimps recognize abstract meaning of words. Dolphins can recognize itself in a mirror, so do elephants. Dolphins use tools, so do many other animals, including crows which also make tools to use. The recent studies show all animals are smarter than we used to think.

When hunting they give each other orders and talk to one another in a way no other animal bar us could have done, you should watch some of the documentaries on how they catch schools of fish its actually quite amazing. Dolphins also have the ability to learn many forms of sign language (obviously they cannot reply). Not only that but studies on the dolphin brain have shown some amazing things.

That is very common in many species. You should watch those documentaries. Many mammals understand trainers sign and show many tricks. You say fish aren't going extinct? Where are you getting your information dummy? There is literally 90% less fish in the ocean then there was 50 years ago. This is a fact, look it up. Many species of tuna are going extinct, mainly blue fin tuna.

Also Japan is workin with full accordance and approval of the International Whaling Commission which allows Japan to kill 1,000 whales in the antarctic, use them for research and then sell the meat.

Well the members of the SSCS have stated that they are at war with the whalers.
Them having stated that the whalers are within their rights to ram any SSCS ship that threatens them, whether big or small. They also have the right to deploy any weapon (not banned by the Hague Conventions). That does include the LRAD.
Suck it up SSCS you are about to get something nasty once the whalers figure this out.
By the way, I hate whalers and whaling just as much as I hate the SSCS's methods.

Article VIII of the 1946 IWC convention actually states
"Any whales taken under these special permits shall so far as practicable be processed and the proceeds shall be dealt with in accordance with directions issued by the Government by which the permit was granted."

there are only a few dozen Maui dolphins left in new zealand waters, id call that endangered! and New Zealand constantly makes aware of there plight, please get facts right first before posting comments without any backup, as for the Ady Gil, i know pete and have spent several weeks with him and the vessel, if you watch the clip taken on the ady gil it shows clearly the japanese vessel in the distance turing towards them as pete asks for engines to be stopped to save fuel.

as far as moving forward , if you look from the ady gils vessel pete clearly asks the engines to be brought down to save fuel, if you know anything about boats youll realise that diesel engines have to be idled down or ireperable damage will happen to motors, its the same for starting they need to be warmed up before taking off, they were in idle mode! you can clearly see the japanese vessel wide in the distance the moves course towards them! as far as mauis there are a number of org. here!!!!

and a few seconds before the impact, AG moved forward to smash into the Japanese vessel. AG, as a smaller, and hence easier to maneuver boat, should give way. If you are talking about the port vessel, AG shouldn't put itself in front of SM to begin with.

FYI, The SS organisation has lost a court case in Canada last year, in which two SSCS assholes were fined $45k.

AG is a very fast boat. The footage from SM, by the end bit of it, shows no wake of the SM, which means that SM was NOT steering starboard. BB was moving forward, giving the impression that SM was steering starboard.
After all, Watson calls himself a master rammer, and SS specialises in ramming.
