This is obviously the replacement "Paul" before his facial plastic surgery healed. If you look at a pre-'67 Beatles video, the entire shape of Paul's face is different than post-'67, especially the nose and eyes. Even eye color is different. "Paul" has been a brilliant hoax and coverup for over 40 years.

All the "proof" you have seen has been doctored or the image's quality has been so bad PIDers use it as "proof". Paul never died. His eyes are different colors (green, brown) because of lighting. His eyes are hazel, not brown. Always been hazel. His head never changed height. His lip scar was from a moped accident, not surgery. He has the same small scars and freckles. He looks somewhat different because of the haircut or a mustache.

Drugs and mental states can change a person's looks and personality drastically. I see it all the time where I work. I knew one bipolar person who didn't look like the same person when he was manic-his face became long and pointy looking.If I hadn't seen him change like that I wouldn't have believed it. All the Beatles were trying some pretty heavy drugs. I believe there was some purposeful hoax stuff going on to sell records as their music became psychedelic.

@bluegrasssingingman What did you mean by "... sold out to MJ ..."? As far as I know, Paul and MJ contributed on each other's albuns with a couple of songs, back in the early 80's. It was a one-off. Now if you meant the "Beatles song catalogue", it wasn't Paul who sold it to MJ, but MJ bought the company that, at that time (1985), had the the publishing rights of over 200 Lennon-McCartney songs. Do some research about that, and see for yourself. It will help you separate your hatred from facts.

@MissZachBraff I disagree -- at around the 20-second mark, his feet stop moving but the ticking noise can clearly be heard for another second or two. I thought it might be due to the video and audio not being in sync, but that's not the case. Someone must be starting and stopping the metronome for him.

@FinnLlywelyn I believe you are mistaken about his feet. They do not stop moving - for a short while, he taps with his heels instead of his toes, which is barely noticeable.
You must not know what a metronome is, or you would never suggest it.

@ccoraxfan LOL!! I play drums, guitar, and piano (proficient in that order) and certainly have experience with metronomes. In fact, that "tock" sound is very much like the noise that the "old style" metronomes make, which is certainly what Paul would have had available in 1968. And your heel-tapping explanation is absurd -- there would have to be mics right next to Paul's heels to register such a loud and distinctive sound.

Truth is, neither answer seems totally right here, although a metronome IS present on the recording (it's documented), which was done during the same studio session that this video was taken. Whatever. Paul is great, the song is awesome, and I don't care about the shoes or metronome anymore.

@FinnLlywelyn Ok, to lay this metronome shit to rest. It's not like it was a sneaker sole clicking against the wood floor, they were almost like tap shoes. And for those interested, those shoes are from his Sgt. Pepper outfit. You can also see his heel moving after he stops with his toes. HOWEVER, in the original recording they claim the clicking was done by neither metronome or shoes. This recording is picking up everything from the camera filming. So there.

I don't know where you got your "they claim . . . " info from. But according to page 137 of "The Beatles Recording Sessions: The Official Abbey Road Studio Session Notes" by Mark Lewisohn, there is 'a metronome gently ticking away in the background' of the recording, which took place during the same studio session as this video. (It was a one-session affair.) A metronome is present and being used. I'm out.
