@fotwunny He is well known because Kurt Cobain wore his T-shirt on television. He is however deserving of his fame. He is the real "everyman" musician. He is deeply troubled and not musically talented in the traditional sense. But he expresses some things that a lot of folks can relate to. Very powerful on complex levels. This fat old guy in dirty sweatpants can do what a lot of Julliard grads cannot...period

I've watched some of these performances of his which is enough information for me "understand" what I need to understand. I'm sure he's a great person and all but he is not a respectable artist. He is a joke.
