Its because they nerfed the second chance stuff now so if someone put that person in second chance and someone else shoots them while they are in second chance they get an assist while the person that put them in second chance gets the kill

The first one was legit but now treyarch switched the las stand so whoever downs the person AlWAYS gets the kill and the person that kills the downed guy (grizz) gets the assist (believe it was because of teammates killing downed guys on Hardcore so they don't get a death but I like it this way anyways.

I hit a random tomahawk, and got an assist like that. But it's because they fixed second chance so that if you put someone into it, and your teammate finishes him off, you get the kill and he gets an assist. It's kinda annoying when you hit them with a tomahawk, but pretty awesome when you're the one who put him into second chance
