I tried to sing this aria when I was 19. The high f was always a problem. Listening to Chaliapine shows me the technique. Keep the high tones slim!! Otherwise his voice is typical of a basso cantante with the soft production and the vibrato. Lovely to hear his long tones. He is savouring them. Bravo once again!
