  • Lovethat primer!!! Guy makeupartists are so cute!! ur so adorable!

  • hey now dont blame us all for some ppls' actions. I read AND appreciate the description box! have a secret contest there and see who all reads it lol

  • In the U.S. you can get it at Sephora for $28(: !

  • what do you think of the laura mercier primers? I have dry skin but hat powdering my skin and would love to find the right primer for me. I saw a gosh one for dry skin, a gosh one for wrinkles and the laura mercier ones look good. have you tried any of those on dry skin people? I am SO excited about your new givaways!!!! you are so generous with us wayne. hope to meet you sometime, you are amazing and an inspiration to us all xx

  • since its like glue will it maybe leave white patches on your face when you applly foundation or powder???

  • could you plz plz tell us whats the best concealer for good coverage?? thanks!!!

  • I think your doing an awesome thing. The information your have provided has really opened my eyes and helped me be more aware. Thank You!!

  • is this product ok for oily skin

  • @FEELSORRY4URASS if u have oily skin u wana use a water based primer, silicone can leave u more oily. but u can get away with it if u just use it where u need it versus all over. (Makeup artist 7yrs) CoverFX makes a good one that has salicidic acid in it, even milk of magnesia, Lorac Aquaprime, Stilla they are all really good 1st choice wud be the coverFX!

  • i always read the info , i sometimes read the info before the tutorial just so i can honestly get a real feeling for what i see thanks

  • does this help with oily skin?

  • Hi Wayne! As always, a well done video with excellent advice. Much appreciated.

  • i read what you write for sure!! but i dont for other vids :P

  • Sexiest accent E V E R!

  • I have sat and watched so many of your videos, I find them really relaxing to watch in the evenings and I think it's because you are just so cheery and have a really nice voice, couldn't get bored of it :)

  • I feel like Primers maximize pores, does anyone know why it does that?

  • dont u just love him

  • I bought this primer over a month ago and it really doesn't work for me I have very dry skin and I'm struggling to find a product to help my foundation looking dewy and glowing and not flaky and dry..... Please please help Wayne xxx

  • that looks a lot like prime time:O

  • I have combination skin and already use some philosphy products and decided to give this a try. I absolutely love it! It worked just as a primer should and my makeup goes on like a dream. I was having issue with another primer in combination with my Nars foundation; now problem solved at a reasonable price.

  • I ALWAYS CHECK THE "SHOW MORE" BUTTON AND LOVE ALL THE EXTRA INFO YOU INEVITABLY SHARE THERE! YOU'RE TERRIFIC!

  • this made horrible problems for me and I returned it. I have normal/combination/sensitive skin. It made a face an oil slick as I have never experienced before.

  • I am so buying this tomorrow! After watching your video, I looked up the reviews on Sephora (over 800 reviews) everyone loves it, and on the over 30 something age range, they say it makes their skin clearer. So glad I watched your video, I was looking for a new primer. Thanks Wayne! :) xx

  • @lakegirl645 don't trust reviews on sephora. they only publish positive reviews. i know from personal experience, writing a bad review for sth it never got published. same with people i know. sephora reviews are unreliable as they only publish the good ones. better to check on makeupalley.

  • @madiiwarsaw Thank you, I appreciate you letting me know. I didn't even know about makeupalley. I checked it out, and it is great. :)

  • I enjoy your videos but won't be trying this primer. Philosophy is actually the only thing that I've had an allergic reaction to in my life.

  • just saying...i ALWAYS read what u write in the description bar.

  • Wayne, I think you are the best & because of my opinion of you, of course, I read all your comments. I just wanted to say that some people are in a hurry & don't pay attention, some have learning disorders, & some people are just plain ignorant. Please be patient with those who may frustrate you when they ask you to repeat yourself. I was always told we learn through repetition. Please don't misread my comment. It is not meant to be a lecture; you know your job; you are awesome! Hugs from AL!

  • I always read your comments!!!! it's very informative! the ones that ask questions that you already answered are lazy and losers!

  • Been using this for a week and I am hooked! I have dry skin and it seems to really hydrate. I probably wouldn't recommend for someone with oily skin though. My makeup looks so amazing with this! It lasts so much longer and my face feels so soft and smooth! Love love love!!!

  • I've been using this for over 2 years and I must say it is the best I've used. I have very fair and sensitive skin and I have never had any problems. I still alternate between it and others like Lorac Aquaprime and Stila's One Step Correct depending on my needs. But seriously sometimes I can just get away with using this and a light application corrector and mineral powder applied with a damp blender sponge and viola! Amazing No Makeup Makeup look!

  • Is this good for dry skin ? Does it have any parabens ?

  • I'm happy he doesn't just say OH THIS STUFF IS AMAZING GSDKJCSS EVERYBODY GO GET IT like I've seen on Youtube lots of times, instead he says he really likes it but it may not be for everyone :p

  • I have used The Present on & off since it was first released. It really does create a flawless looking skin, if used properly There definitely is a learning curve, though. Use a very light habd, apply sparingly, and wait the required time after application You can make it work with practice & it's well wirth the patience!

  • I need to join the conversation-I have tried nearly a half dozen primers, surprisingly, I find SEPHORA brand the best. The best. I was shocked. I now use it daily, I buy it in bulk. It sets into your skin much better, so light and silky but well functioning. My makeup lasts through workdays and intense parties. I have extremely fair sensitive skin, and it has never irritated my lip or eye areas. At $16 USD a pop, I dare say IT'S the best primer ever.

  • Also, I appreciate when you write all the info in the info section. I read all of it & it helps when I try looking for the products etc. Cheers!!!

  • Started using this because of you Wayne :) Love it! Used to use Hourglass & Perfekt in Radiance. Tried many others as well. Had tried Philosophy face wash & broke me out, hated it. The Present, however, hasn't given me any problems. I put it on right after my Renee Rouleau 30 SPF moisturizer & then get dressed. I live near Seattle, WA so not tons of sun. I'm usually sensitive to smells & have no issues with the lavender. This + Kett & I'm getting loads of compliments & makeup still perfect when

  • I've been using this as a primer for years and I've experienced no problems with it.

  • Quality essential oils. But never with my doterra oils. I even use then on my three kids 7,5, and 1. I also used them during my pregnancy and delivery.

  • I actually am involved with doterra essential oils. These are oils that are therapeutic grade. Which means they are so pure they are FDA approved in the states to take internally. Lavender is one of the oils you can use to naturally treat sun burns as well as peppermint. The oils you have to watch out for are the citrus oils. They naturally deplete the skin's defenses against the sun. It really depends on the quality of essential oil that is being used. I have broken out with rashes from lesser

  • Having sensitive skin, I tend to stay away from the Philosophy products due to their strong scents. I did try their facewash once. only once. Don't think I will try their primer. Thanks for the video though!

  • I really like this too, I only use it at night though at the moment not for the Lavender Oil reason, just because I have a gajillion primers to get through and save my fave for night! Though I will definitely keep it to night use now...

I found it in my local TK Maxx for a fiver. It was a while back but could be worth a gand.

It does keep my makeup on all night, when I get too cidered up and get home and pass out with my Miss Millie's on my chest my makeup always looks perfect in the morning!

  • cover fx is a nice primer if the present isnt working for u

  • Hi Honey, I also love the present but I must say I also LOVE Dr. Brandt Pores no more and now I have recently tried the new healthy primer by Sarah McNamara "Miracle Skin" Have you tried either one of these? I would love to know your opinion on how they compare.

  • Wondering if this would be good under Liquid Foundations? I've read tons of reviews that state that this primer works only with mineral foundations and cakes up with liquid or cream formulas.

  • I like your long comments in description!!! Thank you from Moscow!

  • Hey, the phenomenon you are describing is called "phototoxicity". There is a chance of phototox with most perfume ingredients and many botanicals, but they usually have to be in fairly high concentration and in direct contact with the skin (depending on the substance and carrier). It's more common of a problem with perfumes and perfume oils than with ingredients suspended in a base like a primer or moisturizer, although it is a good thing to note for people already prone to hyperpigmentation.

  • Do you have any other great primer suggestions? This sounds amazing, but my skin is already prone to sensitivity! Great video though as usual :)

  • I got it and loooove it! makes the worst foundations amazing!

  • Question: u say be careful during the day due to sun, but what abt fotoshoots? Can the camera flash also harm the skin? Big fan by the way u make great video greetz simone

  • @purebliss04 The light waves from the sun is different from the camera; the sun will give you UVA and UVB damage to your skin (former will cause pigmentation, the latter sun burn if you don't have enough melanin in your skin). Where as a normal camera flash light doesn't have those rays, hope this helps!

  • I have been using this for over a week after and I am amazed at how well this works! I have been looking for a good primer forever, and wouldn't have picked this one up without your recommendation as it calls itself 'clear makeup' not primer, but it is nothing short of AMAZING!! I hate most primers that are full of slippery silicones, but this one is perfect. Cannot say enough about it!! Thank you!

  • PLEASE COMMENT

    /watch?v=qDpOIxSsSyU

  • Thank you!! Im tired of greasy primers!

  • I just discovered your youtube page and i'm hooked! I love how concise your explanations are!

  • I read EVERY word you write :-)

  • very good

  • what does YOUR TATTOO THATS ON YOUR Wrist MEANS??

I LIKE IT BUT I HAVE TO KNOW THE MEANING BEHINED IT

  • where can i buy it from?

  • I love reading the long description box. Thank you so much for taking the time to write it!

  • I got a sample of this yesterday. Looking forward to using it (alone and with makeup).

  • Great review ,This is amazing stuff I don't think I have ever used anything that works as well as this :~)

  • Hey! I'm loving you videos! Is this primer any good for extremely dry skin? Would it help with flakiness, or bring it out more?? Thanks xxx

  • Don't know what I'd do without you! I'd probably scare small children with how horrible my makeup would look! lol Thank you for everything you do!

  • Im oily its this a good product for me

  • @laughitup2010 thanks!!!

  • I always read the descripton box..:)

  • FYI I read your descriptions, really I do!!! I appreciate when info is posted for reference, then I don't have to watch the whole video again! 8)

BTW I got a sample of the primer, I have been using for a week and it is as you say, very good!!!

I really didn't think I would notice a difference but my makeup, foundation and blush, looked great all day at work! I checked when I would take a break and at lunch, I WILL be buying the full size! TYVM!

  • I have this and stopped using bec I get really oily after an hr:( Btw, do I need a primer if Im going to use powder foundation like MUFE MATTE POWDER?Can u suggest a primer for big pores? Thanks a bunch!

  • My sister works for a major cosmetics firm & at the moment is on a project to produce a ‘small heated iron’ that smoothes out wrinkles by pressing it against the skin. I’ve seen the designs & am sure prolonged use will lead to permanent skin damage. Whenever I try discussing it with her she holds up her hand to my face saying “that’s not the reality I’m living now!”- whatever that means.

It’s no big surprise they’re planning to trial it in developing countries where regulation is weak.

  • @SuperTruth77 You are completely right that will damage her skin! She may think its working now but I can guarantee you when shes older she will have huge amounts of hyper-pigmentation (basically age spots) Plus adding to much heat to the skin is very damaging, if you shower with to hot of water you will damage your skin. You can tell her that if you like, I'm an esthetician so I've studied a wee bit about this stuff. Just a little shout out.

  • @SuperTruth77 what is that small heated iron

  • @SuperTruth77 I am from a developing country, NOT all people from "developing countries" wish things they have never heard of. # It will fail!

  • please stop by and support my new beauty channel by subscribing and commenting! :) it would make my day, thank you xxxx

  • I always read it too. Thank you for such great information like the lavender oil! In the US, you can buy Philosophy almost any where. Ulta, Seohora and most department stores. I really like most of their products, especially, their facial cleanser called purity. Thank you, again, Wayne. Take good care, Monique

  • I agree with this 100% I'm highly sensitive to lavender oil it gives me a rash :(

  • Trust me most if the times I do read the description bar.I know many ppl don't :)

  • i always read them so that i know i am looking for the right products... =) so thanks for all the info

  • I got a sample of this primer and it absolutely does make my foundation stick BUT that was about it. I usually use the nars primer and I love how that one makes my skin look plump and hydrated. I was really hoping to love this primer but I didn't.

  • I bought this after watching your review and was really excited to try it but it is the worst primer I have ever used. I’ve tried it with different foundations, I’ve tried applying it when it’s dry after 15 min, after 30 min, I’ve applied it wet, mixed it with my foundation but however I apply it and whatever foundation I use it looks horrible. The foundation is almost impossible to apply, it cakes, enhances my pores and looks disgusting. I wish I could return it :-(.

  • @balljointeddoll It could be your face cream. Make sure you wash your face and apply a light moisturizer before you apply the primer. When I am doing someone's make up I do their eyes first to make sure their face has absorbed the moisturizer, otherwise it will cause the foundation and/or primer to sit on top of the face cream and will not settle well on the skin. Try that and I think you might like it more.

  • @balljointeddoll Are you using an oil-free moisturizer? I have normal-oily skin and it took me a few tries to get this product to give me a flawless look. I use a heavy night cream for bed and in the morning, apply my oil-free moisturizer, before applying the primer. I let the moisturizer set for a few min & only let the primer sit for a minute or 2. When I apply my foundation, it takes me twice as long because, I have to rub the foundation clockwise and countercl so it blend, Hope this helped!

  • I love this stuff, the only problem is the price for me. But it is so good. That and the Supernatural by philosphy.

  • I would test this on a patch on my jaw for 48 hours, then try using it during the day after checking that it doesn't cause a rash :)

  • Recent subscriber here- I got a sample at Sephora based on your vid and was more concerned about the propylene glycol (which irritates my eyes) content than the lavender oil. However, I was amazed at the smooth look and feel of my skin after using it- even without foundation. So this would be perfect for me for special occassions with care taken to avoid the eye area. Thanks!!

  • Does this primer contain silicone? I'm trying to find a good primer to wear under airbrush makeup. I use MAC's airbrush makeup on my clients and I know that traditional silicone primer's won't work because the makeup won't set since they both contain silicone. Any suggestions?

  • If i were to test it on my arm or something first, then go out in the sun and a rash did not appear, would it be okay for me to use as a day time primer?

  • I ALWAYS READ THE DESCRIPTION BOX.

and, what would you recommend for oily/combination skin primer for day use? x

  • would you reccomend this for oily/acne prone skin?

  • Thank you Wayne!

  • Does anyone know if Laura Gellers Makeup Spackle Primer is worth purchasing? I

  • the question on my mind is...is the lavender oil essential for the product to work? because if not, its time to tell to just take it out

  • All right! :-)

I do not use primers neither do I use Philosophy.

I'm a bit turn off by their cheesy names & descriptions.

DId you say glue? No thanks!

    Have a great weekend.

    xx

  • I aways use the present before i put on my makeup<3

  • Good point. Lavender oil does make my skin go nuts! It's like hives but even more poofy and itchy. I can't use Hope in a Jar because of that.

  • I always read the description!

  • You're product reviews are absolutely... THE BEST. HANDS DOWN. :) Greetings from the US!

  • Thankyou Wayne x

  • hah do i see sunglasses tan lines? xd

  • I've heard from a fellow makeup artist that it was the one primer her skin did not look oily with, and I didn't even ask about it(even though I was going to). If anyone has doubts go to your local Sephora or Nordstom or wherever sells philosophy and try it out, I just got my sample yesterday night :)

  • I read the description bar sweety!

  • I'm another one that always reads the description box and L.O.V.E the info you list there. Thanks for another great review. ;)

  • @filledelalavande I was gonna ask this too i have super oily skin n was wondering... also can we use it on the eyes as an eyeshadow primer too. Thank you!!

  • I read the description bar. Don't stop with the long descriptions.

  • No, thank YOU for YOUR time! I never realized Philosophy made a primer. I hope it doesn't smell too lavender-y because I personally hate the smell of lavender.

And I always read the description box :)

  • Great info. I never knew that Philosophy made primer. Will add to my must try list.

  • i always read your description box!

  • ty.

  • thought i'd add in my 2pence worth but i recentley discovered Avons magix face perfector which is amazing! Better than Gosh velvet, Loreal studio secret, NYX , MUA and benefit gal! Its only £7 but u can get them cheaper on ebay!

  • I appreciate your thorough research for people with sensitive skin like myself! Thank you so much for the info. And I enjoy reading your description because I cant always watch videos at work...heheheh so I rather read!

  • Can you use it under an airbrush foundation? ( a water based airbrush foundation)

  • I always read you description bar!

  • I think people ask your already answered questions in the hopes of getting a personal message from you ^ _ ^

  • i have problems with oil things so i guess it would be a problem for some people!

  • Canon SX30 IS

  • lavender oil is typically not one of the essential oils you should be wary of....bergamot for example is definitely one that you should steer clear of if you're gonna be out in the sun.

thanx for the video....gonna check this out just as soon as i'm done with my smashbox primer!

  • I actually always always always read the description bar :)

  • I read lavender oil is suppose to do the exact opposite and help protect (and even reserve) the damages of the sun? Lol, I guess everyone's best bet would be to do a patch test 12hrs prior :)

  • Can someone be my second subscriber please?

  • LOL I had to laugh when I read the description bar! I have always loved reading what you have so generously taken the time to share with us in that section. Thank you, Wayne, for all that you do to keep us look as beautiful as ever! As always~pamela

  • I absolutely love Philosophy and can't believe I have never tried their primer! Their cleanser, Purity made simple, is unbelieveable and so gentle. They are so reputable that I would hope they wouldn't put an ingredient that could do harm but thanks for letting us know.

  • 5 minutes... that is too long.

  • I've been using this for years and absolutely love it. They advertise it as a 'clear foundation' for those who have fairly good skin and dont require a colored foundation. Thankfully I havent had any irritability in using this product. I absolutely love it :)

  • I always read the description/info box!

  • @FSRain Me too!!!

  • I'm allergic to sun so thank you for noticing that ingrédient !

  • check out my new foundation routine video!:) please sub for support xx

  • thank for your review videos.

  • does this work as an eyeshadow primer as well or just a face primer?

  • @spinneyhex thank you! because everyone else was saying I was wrong, but I knew I wasn't lol.

  • Most ingredients can be an irritant to somebody somewhere. Know yourself and your sensitivities, do a patch test, etc.. That being said, I would so much prefer some essential oils and things over synthetic fragrances and chemicals, synthetics and chemicals which can be just as problematic, irritating, carcinogenic, and so on.

  • "Don't worry long long descriptions still coming up :)": Thank God!!! :):):) I love your long descriptions...

  • LOVE the fact that you caution us & inform us on this issue instead of just shoving a product in our face without taking the time to RESEARCH. This is why I love watching your videos, because I know that you're not selling me a product, but putting the information out there & critiquing products for us.

  • Best primer I ever found is my sunscreen - Coppertone Sensitive Skin SPF 50. Swear to the lord, my make up now stays until I wash it off.

  • i like thte long descriptions, i feel like i can read it after the video to recap what you say i retain information better that way

  • HI, I'm a big fan! I want to ask where do you buy your products - which cant be bought in stores in the UK - for exmaple MUFE, for decent prices online/anywhere else? THanks!

  • Do you work as professional make-up artist? If so, where in the UK? Thanks

  • Thank you very much.

  • I have used this primer for years and never found a better one

  • Wayne, could you use this with mineral powder foundation?

  • Does it actually smell like lavender? I hate the smell of it usually :( I mostly wear primer in the evenings for when I'm wearing more make up and more colorful colours anyway so I might give it a go.

  • i agree i love this primer

  • You are so pretty.

  • i love your descriptions!:D

  • love your descriptions!

  • would u rec this one for very oily skin??

  • You should try Nurturing Force Blot Out Offensive - best primer I have ever tried - gives a slight 'tack' to the skin and makeup lasts over 12 hours with it on.

  • Wow ... thats a huge call ... ill definitely be buying it tomorrow ... your recommendations have never failed me :-)

    much love

    claire

    xoxo

  • HI Wayne, Do you think an SPF foundation would counteract this primer's photosentivity at all?

  • XD I want it now! you're the best quick reviewer wayne! stay lovely!

  • philosophy are having 15% off until 15/09 hehe, happy I saw this vid before putting my order in on some other things ^__^

  • Ur amazing

  • I love your descriptions! Please keep up the long ones! Thank you and you SO rule.

    xo

  • I've been using Lavendar essential oil for years in my personal cosmetics formulations (yes I make my own products for personal use only), I have rosacea and have never had an adverse reaction. In fact lavendar essential oil is recommended by the herbalist community to help repair irritated skin which I have found to be true at least in my personal experience.

  • Where can I get it!!???

i'm kidding Wayne, great review thank you. ' *)

  • I use this primer ALL THE TIME (even without foundation!) - it makes my skin look so EVEN. Out of curiosity, I just read a scientific journal: "Cytotoxicity of lavender oil and its major components to human skin cells." by Prashar et. al (2004) which showed cytotoxicity being a big deal >0.25%. Before that it showed no effect on cell death. Thoughts? (Btw there is 1 chemical in Lavender oil that is bad - but the effects seem to be negated by something in the oil)

  • At first I thought you meant photosensitivity was like a camera thing for photos!! LOL.. Can this stuff be used if you wear a powder foundation and not a liquid one?

  • CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT?!.... i use proactive every morning; a wash, toner, and reparing lotion. with the lotion i use can i still use a face primer?

  • @16788048 Probably, just let your lotion dry first before applying the primer. I use lotion underneath the primer all the time, though I am unsure about the proactive treatment and its effects... Sorry =T

  • @16788048 Some primers are notorious for causing acne so considering you are using a treatment regimen to correct your complexion I would say use at your own risk.
