Pig Destroyer's charm is their epic riffing, 40 odd seconds bursts of insanity don't sound as cool as PD riffing away with top quality drums still going.

Just throwing this out there, but to be one of the poetic bands out there, it helps to be metal. Almost all core genres are hardcore punk with a heavy metal influence. Some of them also draw influence from other areas, such as death metal. So by definition, grindcore=/=metal

@evilvon its from metal and hardcore. what is carcass if not a grindcore band? after all, the "core" part of the name is taken from hardcore. the grind is the death metal-ish sound, which is obvious, and the core is taken from the blast beats, and, for the most part, the lyrical content. napalm death's lyrics are typically political. so i would say that they take alot of inspiration from hardcore. and they most definitely take inspiration from metal.

they need a good studio and producer.... seriously the only thing separating them from the big boys of hardcore is a good studio/producer. The vox are too low and underproduced, as are the drums.
