Those are some good questions. I haven't made a vid on rightly dividing scripture. It is something I am planning to do though. And I know there are a couple of points that I'll make which will go against how most people divide scripture.

I do use a concordance. But I usually find myself refering to it when someone makes a claim that todays rendering of a passage is incorrect. And most often I find the new notion or idea is incorrect.

My personal bible is a NLT. I like it because it is easy to read and has more then the average number of footnotes at the bottom of the page. I like this aspect as it gives a good number of other possible renderings for some verses where different manuscripts found have different wording.

Rev 1:1, for example, reads "This is a Revelation FROM Jesus Christ.

But a footnote tells us some manuscripts read OF Jesus instead of from.

It's a great site that allows me to do word or phrase search in all major bible versions.

You can also do a search for a particular passage, such as, Matt 17: 1-11 in whatever bible version you want.

This allows you to cross reverence a particular bible passage with all major bible versions.

I will share this though regarding interpreting scripture and rightly dividing His word.

We are told to have two witnesses before we accept testimony.

I apply this to reading scripture as well.

The standard rule of thumb is that when two oppossing views seem to be presented, weight must be given to the one with most supporting passages when taken in context.

But I believe weight must go to the side with the most witnesses not the most verses.

A good example of where this needs to be applied is with "by faith alone", and eternal salvation teachings. For while there are a good number of verses to seemingly support these doctrines, they come almost exclusively from one man. But there are many witnesses who write contrary to these doctrines.

So do you side with one man who writes a lot regarding a particular doctrine? Or do you side with many witnesses who each speak a little against that doctrine?

Satan has more power in our mind then he does in reality / spiritual realm... imo - Darkness is "allowed", so the Light is magnified.

The Spirit led person grows in love, compassion, mercy, etc..., not by their own efforts but by Jesus' power within them.
