  • "Alcohol is poison and you know it!"

    This party rocks! LOL

  • This is the only time I found the short to be more interesting than the comments, which were mostly pretty lame here. I don't think they should have commented on this one.

  • @vennylos It's not a real episode.

  • thank you for this i loved it

  • Geeze, I was kinda taken aback by the one "bible thumping" girl's scene that also showed her pastor talking to the church youth in the flashback. Compared to her overly 'holier than thou' opinion on drinking her pastor sounded a bit more down to earth and civil about the whole matter, kinda a shame his behavior didn't rub onto her. Because he actually made very relevant and realistic points about teen drinking. Making it a responsiblity and about good choices, etc.

  • this is just pathetically unfunny compared to mst.

  • When she said "the gang" my first thought was "LOS LOBOS KICK YOUR ASS! LOS LOBOS KICK YOUR FACE!"

  • Don't try to be MST3K.

  • what ABOUT drinking?

  • The man in the car was Ryan Dunn.... The end.

  • I went almost the entire short before noticing the lack of robots and theatre seats.

  • No one's gonna comment on the fact that these actors look and sound like the actors who portray teenagers in these types of films? Was there no legal drinking age yet??

  • A: It's pretty fine. If your car has cupholders, it's okay to drink. I assume we're talking about Powerade.

  • 9:02-9:12 He's trans-dimensional. Jajaja!

  • Where is my beer bitch

  • That anti drinking chick sounds like CM Punk

  • Drinking's about the worse thing you can do! Not if you're a drinker honey.....

  • yeah nothing ruins a party like drinking......helps you forget you're at a party with a bunch of teetotalling losers.

  • does it occur to anyone that the girl on the phone in the beginning looks about 58 yrs. old

  • oh yah you know my partys are that dull

  • Sally is kinda cute. Shame she's a massive bitchwhoreface

  • @AlexJ1 She's cute, but what a bitch!

  • "Okay, tell me she's not drunk Right Now!" lmao

  • "just because my dad was an alcoholic doesn't mean I'm going to be". modern studies have found that alcoholism is genetic.

  • @rania3830 That may be true. But some children of alcoholics don't want anything to do with alcoholism or only drink on very different occasions thus they won't become alcoholics. If they're aware of it and don't want to become one they take preventative measures to not become one.

  • @rania3830 False. Some contributing factors (addictive personality, etc.) may be genetic, but alcoholism is far more complex than just doing the things that your ancestors did.

  • @Phobos1313 "The things that your ancestors did" is not direct - the 'lineal' notion masks the fact that ancestry is actually multiple and, often, diverse. Which ancestor influences you? several? more? none, even?

Remember that though you don't have an infinite number of ancestors, you certainly - we all certainly - have and had quite a few. Past easy reckoning.

So in short: even just to do what your ancestors did, is tremjously over than complex.

  • Leave the commentary to Tom Servo and the gang at MST3K

  • @bacofishtaco I think 574 people would disagree with you.

  • @bacofishtaco Correction, Joel, he is better than Mike. Also this is very funny, 8/10

  • Leave the commentary to Mystery Science Theatre 3000?

  • Seriously 76 dislikes? Either you need a drink or your drinking to much, this is just a funny MST3K, if you want to argue the movie go somewhere else.

    Nice upload romeo, funny stuff

  • the voice is lagging in manner with no voice or energy...please stop

  • Oh, you know, the gang...

    "The surenos?"

    LOL

  • 2:10 what kind of bottle? a soda bottle? a baby bottle?

  • I prefer the educational film, "What about cults and mind control?"

  • Just hit me a second ago: A /reverend/ condemning something that interferes with clear thinking conscientious judgement?

  • @MrDuncanBelfast Uh - yes. Why would that surprise you? Or can only atheists/agnostics have "clear thinking conscientious judgement"?

  • @all66books I never said that. In fact, I know many theists that exhibit clear thinking and have conscientious judgement.

The point of my comment was that I found it ironic that a religious leader condemns the use of alcohol on the grounds that it /can/ impede critical thinking, while there are many religious doctrines that can do just that. Look up "Opium of the people" to see where I'm coming from.

  • @MrDuncanBelfast No thanks. Anyway, I'd be interested more specifically in which 'religious doctrines' you think impede critical thinking. There are a lot of differing religions which have within them varying religious doctrines.

  • Comment removed

  • @all66books I am well aware that there are many different religions and doctrines. I wasn't referring to any specific doctrines (Although "Walk by faith, not by sight" comes to mind), but rather doctrines as a whole, and following them blindly. When one goes out and shoots a homosexual, for instance, citing that their holy book told them to, it is a decision based on faith, not reason. While under the influence of alcohol, your decisions aren't based on reason either.

  • Note: I am merely stating that reason is complimentary to faith, not that one is superior to the other, nor am I saying that everyone who is religious is a mindless drone. Also, yay! My first YouTube debate!

  • @MrDuncanBelfast "When one goes out and shoots a homosexual, for instance, citing that their holy book told them to, it is a decision based on faith, not reason." OR a heterosexual. Now

as far as 'walking by faith'; well, that depends upon who - or what - you are putting your faith in. If the object of your faith is solid and altogether trustworthy, than walking by faith is actually quite reasonable. I agree with you that BLIND faith is not a good basis for planning or action.

  • @all66books When you put walking by faith that way, I agree wholeheartedly. Now, back to the main argument. What Reverend Brewster (wait, what?) said pertains to alcohol at its worst, and is a bit unfair. Now if you were to take his comment and replace the word "Alcohol" with "religion", and you get a rather ironic comment on the worst parts of religion. i.e. fundamentalists who are also nutjobs.

P.S. It's been a privilege debating with you.

  • @all66books yup.

  • Another unexpectedly insightful gem from the 50s.

  • I'LL NEVER DRINK AGAIN!!!!!

  • if it,s bad for you, you wouldnt do it. but if it feels good then it cant be bad. such a delimma.

  • That guy at 9:13, wasn't he in the MST3Ked short "Why Study Industrial Arts?"?

  • @PunchSydeiron

And the guy at 7:20 is from "Cheating".

  • "....yeah, but you're a Unitarian, your opinion doesnt count."

  • I hate to tell you kid buyt if a parent is an alcholic ,theren is a good chance you will be one too

  • Pickle equivalence argument. Ha ha ha.

  • your riffing isnt that bad

  • drinking really isn't that bad

  • Alcoholism is genetic in most cases.

  • @limbdarkening Stats or GTFO

  • "We're all gonna die, pick your poison!"

    LMAO.

  • the girl who's against drinking is kinda hot

  • These are all so funny. I wish I knew about this show when it was still on TV

  • They all look like old people look now. Old people now still try to dress and wear their hair like they did back then.

  • "Will you turn that friggin' Glenn Miller off?!" My sides hurt after that one!

  • NPR is gonna fire all these damn drinkers.

  • Hydration is evil!

  • god i need a drink.

  • is it kinda fucked up that i drank while i watched this entire thing?

  • I wonder if this film ever drove someone to drink.

  • "Bob and Ted were in an accident!"

    "What about Carol and Alice?"

  • Almost warrants an MST3K thumbs up. High praise.

  • Ill get High first LMAO

  • You know, I know I'll be probably be laughed at if I say this, but as hilarious and out-dated as this video is, I have to say I haven't seen anything modern like it. By that I mean, when was the last time you saw an issue presented so fairly? That didn't demonize or hyperbolize anyone? That promotes an exchange of views as opposed to argument? That actively asks the viewer to think for themselves? All we get today is people telling us to think one way or another. So that just jumped out at me.

  • @ThaMahstah not really what you'd expect to find in something from the 50s.

On the other hand we might not give fair arguments towards drinkers anymore, but we don't hang Negros and put gays in prison!

  • @ThaMahstah

I actually agree--it's nice to be able to watch an educational film like this that doesn't have overly dramatic music or sensationalist imagery... I resent my high school and middle school health classes ._.

  • @ThaMahstah Yes, but remember, the "system" wants people to drink alcohol. They make money on it, and it keep people away from other drugs. So no wonder a educational video about alcohol is positive, while cannabis would be evil...

  • @ThaMahstah lol?

  • @ThaMahstah Letting stupid people think for themselves is dangerous though, and videos like this is usually for stupid people.

  • @ThaMahstah The only "instructional" films they show kids nowadays is made by The Tides Foundation, owned by George Soros, which teach the religion of environmentalism and the sins of capitalism.

  • @kurtb8474 I think we can all conclude Everything in the world is owned by George Soros, aint it.

  • Killjoy! lmao

  • lol. The reverend said alcohol is bad... Yet Christ's blood is wine.... DON'T DRINK.. Unless it's the blood of Christ....

  • @P2000Camaro

Catholics drink wine, every other denomination else does grape juice

  • "Momma told him not come." So did SHE! LMAO!!!

  • Center for alcohol studies? How DO I get a job there! I would love to study some alcohol, I have all kinds of experiments in mind. I just need a smoking hot girl, salt, some limes and Tequila.

BTW: I agree with that girl, she shouldn't drink, it would not mix well with her meds. She probably sticks to Mary Jane, her favorite girl.

  • .....to the voices that control me from within my head.... LOL!!!

  • "Susan is dressed like Ma Ingles."

Hahaha, it's funny because I've read all those books.

  • Worst....Party.....Ever

  • this would be a lot funnier without the commentary voiceover

i mean, the original is PURE gold.

  • @okayokay2009

I agree, MST3K just get in the way in this one...

The film is so bad it's GREAT!

  • I wonder if she takes medicine since some of that has alcohol.

  • hahaha "..Rick Moranis as Alfalfa..."

  • too many of those cookies she's serving is gonna make you fat and have a heart attack.

  • "i still think you're a prejudiced whore"

  • "Hydration is EVIL" lol

  • "Drinking's just about the worst thing you can do" Really? Drinking? I can think of a ton of things that are worse than drinking.

  • Really funny, just as funny as some of the MST3K stuff. So glad I stumbled across this.

  • I DON'T want to go out with Sally.

  • The chick who keeps preaching about how alcohol is poison (Sally) looks like she's super high during this.

  • Booze- it's what's for dinner.

  • "He's a Vulcan"--I'm surprised they didn't notice that earlier!

  • jesus made sure there were always plenty of booze :D. that water to wine trick sure came in handy around 30AD :P

  • "Hydration is evil!"

  • Of all the Fun With Shorts, this is definitely one of my favorites - great job!

  • I use the old pickle equivilence arguement almost daily

  • Ya know, I WANTED to hate this; I was offended that this clip came up in the midst of "Genuine" MST3k clips. But you know what? You're pretty goddam FUNNY!

  • Guys, it's not like ALL Christians are that extreme to thinking that drinking alcohol is a sin. I'm Christian and so are my family and friends and none of them believe that drinking alcohol is a sin. Chill out, guys. Stop stereo-typing everyone!

  • Centron reminds you to never go to parties with dorks - or bitches dressed as sailors!

  • Daddy's medicine.LOL

  • Jerry looks like Sean Astin.

  • Thought this would be shit, but good job.

  • Thank you, Centron!

    LOL XD

  • personally i think it would have been better with more than one person doing the voices.

  • Who's ever heard of a high school party without beer?

  • And this was the late 40's or 50's... it seems that teens always got drunk and then did the deed. Show this video to anyone who says that it all started in the 70's. :p

  • i am seriously prejudiced against anyone doing mst3k besides the original guys (that includes mike, of course). i couldn't believe it when i found myself laughing out loud to this! amazing!

  • This was really good. Just as good as MST3K. And this video is exactly why I would have been a Beatnik if I had lived back then. This short must have been filmed in Squarelahoma City

  • Wow, people drank only because it was the safest thing to drink. No Jesus.

  • Back then, people hadn't discovered that an average of 1 or 2 drinks a day has health benefits

  • Jesus drank wine so it is not evil to drink alcohol. I'm Christian and i hate these up tight Christians who try to control what you do.

  • I'll drink to that.

  • Except if you are a sperm. If you are a sperm and get wasted, god gets quite irate.

  • Quit obsessing over my sperm God! It's creepy

  • @stonewall97

It's not about the alcohol itself, but the amount that one drinks. It's true that some people know what their limit is, but if they don't know or care it can cause problems. I think that's what the real issue is.

  • @stonewall97 I know, Its not a sin to drink, its a sin to drink to get drunk.

  • Lol I hate all Christians. =P

  • @stonewall97 chucky where do you get all this info? like its ok to hate people? and what kind of wine was it that your lord was drinking? sounds like to me you want to ride the fence and still slip on into heaven. good luck with that buddy.

  • @stonewall97 jesus didn't drink wine he drank malt liquoer

  • @stonewall97 Well I'm not Christian, and I think alcohol should be illegal. It's literally liquid poison. It's one of the worst drugs available.
