What static compression ratio are you running that you can get 18PSI on 91? I am putting a 383 w/goodies in my 71 240Z. I am asking because I was thinking about forced induction in the relatively near future, after I've worked out the suspension. The piston/head combo I'm running should give me about 10.4:1 static. I was going to run distilled water injection as a detonation suppressant to run a mild boost, like 10PSI, in conjunction with 91. Sick build by the way, an inspiration!

@DuoMaxwell555 instead of running water or methanol injection, you might look into the benefits of e85 if its available in your area. the subaru guys are running it and making 600hp + out of a 2.5l engine. my friend is running 11/1 comp with 27psi, I dont know his timing numbers but he hasnt had any problems with detonation.I am saving to put a turbo 383 in my 280zx and I will run it on e85, maybe next winters project.

@castaak Yeah, I'm not a big fan of E85 for a number of reasons (it's not as thermodynamically efficient for one) and it's availability in Southern California is crappy. There's only like one station in all of the SD metro area. The initial cost is the same as E85 (a good programmable injection kit is like $350) but distilled water is way cheaper in the long run. But, if E85 is widely available where you are that is probably a good option, it also eliminates the need for another tank to fill.

773 HP is with 20# boost the 650 HP was at 16# of boost. we are still useing the R200 and the 10 pnt was put in this last year and the car has gone 141MPH now.

We have gone through the engine this last year with a new cam and a little head clean up and runs the same with only 13# of boost insted of 18# of boost.

This year we will mybe see 144-5MPH with 18-19 # of boost.

Obviously you know more than me but it seems like more drag racers running this kinda power go with the two speed powerglide tranny vs a 700R4 doesn't this just slow you down shifting when you got this much power?

anyways gotta love chevy engines. Id like to go with a LS series 5.3 or 6.0 out of a pickup cast iron block only 80lbs heavier plus they are cheap to replace.

are you using the stock half shafts? that was pretty hard launch i didn't hear the tires really break loose and if you want your 1/4 time to go up it won't be a street car anymore its gonna take some good size slicks and tubbing it out inorder to use all that torque

I use a nismo LSD 80/90W no addative it chaters a little on turns but works good. The half shafts have nissan solid joints none other stronger. If the tires get shocked to hard the cup holder will twist and the joint will come apart.

yes it's a R200 3.36 with a LSD. It is a 700R4 with good parts no manual valve body. I did not use JTR just simple brackets.

Look at the video for under the car. You can see 2 pipes that are 21/2 in. come togeter to a 3in. pipe up to the turbo. The turbo is mounted to the front of the block with brakets. The electric water pump mounted to the frame.
