  • The most classic country I know. This man made me a believer in the genre. Is there a Pride song you don't know the words to? That is what makes a good song, a great song is made by an Artist that simple will never be able to be re-recorded and be believable. I still have all his 33 rpms, and still can dance to Your My Jamica. I believe Crystal Chandeliers was his finest moment. Thank you for great American Music.

  • @ALTDOK

Naw, Charlie Pride was a good singer, but he wasn't as loose as other country artists.

  • If ya ask me, he beats Johnny Cash by a mile

  • Agree, he is wonderful. I saw him in Branson, MO. 2x. His son has a wonderful voice also. My father played and and sang in bands all my life. I used to have fun singing with him to Charlie's songs. I miss my dad.

  • Awesome stuff - nuff said. Charley rocks!

  • This man is one of the most influential musicians of any time. The obvious racial barriers that exhisted in the 60's when he became a household name were never even considered by those who love music if any kind. One of the real class acts who ever lived , we will always love Charlie Pride. HE-DA-MAN!

  • Now thats music!

  • Great songs by Charlie Pride. He is one of my Father's favorite singers & as I am the youngest of his 3 boys, I listended to him a lot & loved his singing as well :-)

  • This is a fantastic song by a fantastic artist who still carries the traditional torch of country music.Taylor Swift,Carrie Underwood,Rascal Flatts,& Tim McGraw are just pretenders to the throne.

  • Classic! Luv the Charlie!

  • Charlie at his best. I had so many of his on my Four Track 1977. I loved my old AMC Pacer.

  • I remember my mother telling me she didn't know he was African American. You can't tell from his singing. My mother had a record when I was a kid that she would play sometimes. He is a great singer....

  • He is All American

  • True talent such as Charley has been pushed away from so-called "Country radio".

Country is not Country any longer.

    ♫ Derek J. Holak ♫

  • Yep, Ijust heard this Taylor Swift song, it was a remake of one of Dolly Partons. She could not even hit the notes and was so out of tune, I could not click off the site fast enought....I am glad we can at least still go to concerts that Charlie Pride performs at and other who have talent. Support them and the others will go away...no money...means they go broke. and stop ruining country music.

  • I do LOVE rap music but I was BORN on country.. Johnny Cash, Charley Pride.. My dad ALWAYS use to play Charley.. and to this day I still listen to him. charley is down in HISTORY!

  • I like this, this would be a great song to the beginning of a movie. I could see how the camera outside of a big house and a sunset in the background at the same time you hear a voice narrating than the camera goes into the house you see a family laughing and begins the story.

  • mel tillis is my step dads uncle robert tillis
