I remember my older brother got his first 8 track tape player, and he used to play this in the bathroom when he was taking a bath, and he'd be singing. hahha old memories very good.
The most classic country I know. This man made me a believer in the genre. Is there a Pride song you don't know the words to? That is what makes a good song, a great song is made by an Artist that simple will never be able to be re-recorded and be believable. I still have all his 33 rpms, and still can dance to Your My Jamica. I believe Crystal Chandeliers was his finest moment. Thank you for great American Music.

i rember sitting on the liveing room floor playing with my toys listing to great old country songs like this and believe me songs like this get only better sounding as time goes by
In the early seventies, i would go to the stock car races with my dad. He always put in the Charley Pride 8-track on the ride home. Charley is my favorite to this day.
Why do you have to make such remarks on this video?? Charlie Pride's voice is much appreciated by everyone, both young and old. Keep your remarks to yourself!!

I live in ireland too but went to south africa when I was 5 years old and grew up with charlie's music on my dads old 48 tapes (I think they were called) the tapes were huge and played in his car - snakes crawl at night is one of my all time favourites!!!!!
yes i rem those tapes they are the ones we had here as well i have so many of charleys cds now i think im pretty close to having most of them . my grown up family look at me when i put one on and say o no not charley pride again lol but u no i think i have them converted . lol
one of the best country singers i have ever heard . i wish country music today was like this ,. i don't listen to country anymore . this is fantastic , thanks
Agree, he is wonderful. I saw him in Branson, MO. 2x. His son has a wonderful voice also. My father played and and sang in bands all my life. I used to have fun singing with him to Charlie's songs. I miss my dad.
This man is one of the most influential musicians of any time. The obvious racial barriers that exhisted in the 60's when he became a household name were never even considered by those who love music if any kind. One of the real class acts who ever lived , we will always love Charlie Pride. HE-DA-MAN!
My dad saw him in TX in da 70s,he came on stage, and the good ol boys were saying"hes black!",he actually used to be a pro baseball player in the black league,I think..
I almost 42 and my uncle played this cassette until he wore it out...I was nine and listened to it on our annual Christmas trek across Australia...I'm still listning and lovin' it...
Great songs by Charlie Pride. He is one of my Father's favorite singers & as I am the youngest of his 3 boys, I listended to him a lot & loved his singing as well :-)
This is a fantastic song by a fantastic artist who still carries the traditional torch of country music.Taylor Swift,Carrie Underwood,Rascal Flatts,& Tim McGraw are just pretenders to the throne.
@cynnie80 Truly! My dad liked this song and I heard it through childhood, too! When I got older and listened to the lyrics closely, it wasn't about snakes at all!!!! LOL RIP my dad, too. A true music lover.
@SpeedyTase LOL My dad LOVED this song and as you did I listened to the lyrics closely and realized it wasn't about the snakes either :-) <3 Love You Daddy RIP!!!

I remember my mother telling me she didn't know he was African American. You can't tell from his singing. My mother had a record when I was a kid that she would play sometimes. He is a great singer....
Yep, Ijust heard this Taylor Swift song, it was a remake of one of Dolly Partons. She could not even hit the notes and was so out of tune, I could not click off the site fast enought....I am glad we can at least still go to concerts that Charlie Pride performs at and other who have talent. Support them and the others will go away...no money...means they go broke. and stop ruining country music.
I do LOVE rap music but I was BORN on country.. Johnny Cash, Charley Pride.. My dad ALWAYS use to play Charley.. and to this day I still listen to him. charley is down in HISTORY!
i love this guys music im 36 and i have good memories of my grandad listening to these tunes and when i hear them i feel good and remember the good times we spent together
I like this, this would be a great song to the beginning of a movie. I could see how the camera outside of a big house and a sunset in the background at the same time you hear a voice narrating than the camera goes into the house you see a family laughing and begins the story.
Alan you have great music on here. I never thought I would hear these songs again. Have you ever heard Charley sing Green Green Grass of Home that is my favorite sung by him.
dudes n dudesses what's happening to the unifying power of music...being overwhelmed by ingrained hatred & racism..shame.. as this is a real good song sang by a real talented singer...who cares if he is orange, blue or redneck..just enjoy the song
I remember my older brother got his first 8 track tape player, and he used to play this in the bathroom when he was taking a bath, and he'd be singing. hahha old memories very good.

Thanks for the memories

dudes n dudesses what's happening to the unifying power of music...being overwhelmed by ingrained hatred & racism..shame.. as this is a real good song sang by a real talented singer...who cares if he is orange, blue or redneck..just enjoy the song
