So in case people didn't know, McDonalds in Japan is actually semi-legitimate. The food is not quite as crappy as it is here.

UK: 490 (kcal) 28 (g) 24 (g) 41 (g) 2.1 (g)

@joelruns It's less healthy in general - apart from the higher calorie content, it's higher in fat, salt and carbohydrate content from America and the UK. The protein doesn't really matter and is kind of better to have more of, but having more Carbs, Salt, Fat and Calories makes it worse for you. The calories come from a range of things in the burger itself - most likely from the meat/product they use in the meat patty.

The fact that it has more calories and fat means that more fat will build up beneath the skin if you don't exercise enough - but even if you do it means there is more you have to burn off. The carbohydrates are fine as long as it's not too much and the combination that you eat in a day doesn't go over the daily amount. The salt increases LDL cholesterol in the blood - the fatty plaques in arteries - increasing the risk of a heart attack.
