In my country, mentally ill people are not allowed in regular prisons. They're instead admitted to secure phsyciatric units, where they get all the help they need.

A guy like Frank Street, would be admitted to the high secure hospital "Enggården" for as long as he's a danger to himself or the outside world. Only the minister od Justice can release him. He would be allowed escorted visits home after a stabile period, and special help to return to an open phsyciatric unit, priosn or be released.

i feel so bad for this guy....he is mentally ill, he didnt choose to be he just is...poor guy knows he did something wrong and knows he is messed up in the head and cant do anything about it....i cant imagine how much torment he puts himself through.

Well, its not REALLY his fault, well, it is, but his condition is hard for him to control, he needs to be locked up, and under survalience, because he cant go out in public cause he might murder again cause he cannot control himself. It's sad this happens, and they shouldn't have to be put through max lockdown and not have anything, he should be able to enjoy almost everything he did before he went crazy.

This guy is clearly mentally ill, he did something sick and heinous when he was having one of his mental spats. Clearly the guy needs to be institutionalized, but PRISON is definitely not it. I don't know if its for the better or worse. At least he gets to shoot pool and be around 'sane' people. I don't know if he would get the same in an insane asylum though.

I agree with you. Most of the people writing on here have no idea of the horrors of mental illness and what the afflicted feel when they learn of the details during a delusional state. Frank is clearly one of the only REAL humans that have been on the LockUP series. You can almost see his pain over his actions.
