Norm definitely was the best Weekend Update anchor. The guy could save even the stupidest punchline. He followed Kevin Nealon, who I think was the worst. Nealon delivered it like he was doing a skit, when he really should have been doing it like a monologue. His delivery was bland, and he let the bad jokes die. He had more silence coming from the audience than any other Weekend Update.

Wow. I just rediscovered all of these Norm MacDonald clips and I never realized how smart he was. One of the only comics who can literally recycle jokes and they become funnier every time you hear them.

It's not in this clip, but I can't help but notice Norm's jokes about the US government constantly needing the approval of "some Chinese guy." He was about ten years ahead of his time on that joke.

I remember hearing this Week-End update. The Frank Stallone joke almost killed me. I laughed, rolling around on the bed for 5 minutes.
