  • "he refused a lie-detector test, because it detects LIES"

  • Drinking vs. Potsmoking...why choose!

  • I actually almost fell over laughing at this. "over the next to 2 months the number of border patrol agents in tuscon, arizona will double to 49."

  • These audiences fucking sucked, he would tell the most classic jokes and they'd barely giggle most of the time.

  • Norm was the best Weekend Update reporter EVER!!!!!!!

  • I loved how in every update, he shits on frank stallone.. genius..

  • last two jokes had me gasping for air. pot smoke when you laugh = hurts throat.

  • OJ was acquitted in 1995. Is the date on this wrong or did this take place during the civil trial?

  • @jmfalcon1 F- o.j !!

  • This got him fired.

  • 03:38 And there you go, Beavis & Butthead, even though they never showed up!

  • YOU GUESSED IT, TICKLE ME FRANK STALONE!

  • Norm's delivery is a lot like walking up to someone and saying "what's what you got behind your back there?"...right before you get hit with a baseball bat.

  • I love how he just puts it out there. "The drug is crack". LOL!! BTW....kinda freaky with the whole terrorists and airlines thing tho. This is obviously from before 9/11 since they're talking about O.J. Simpsons and President Clinton

  • The actual videos would be great. A lot of his comedy comes from his mannerisms.

  • "OJ Simpson has refused to take a lie detector test - his reason??? It detects LIES!" simple, funny, deadpan - perfect.

  • Dane Cook is joke stealing cunt.

  • @kanshou Agreed mate. Worst popular comedian I've ever seen. Most comedians work because they're likeable but he's neither likeable nor funny. He's not even tragically comic, he's just shit.

  • @kanshou Which joke did he steal? Not that I'm defending Cook, but I'm curious.

  • tickle me frank stallone! ha ha ha

  • this guy is the funniest man alive, he is just super lazy and that is why he is not the biggest star evr, i dont think he cares for that either

  • a big seller this holiday season is Michael Bolton's new Christmas album, "This Is The Time": happy birthday Jesus, I hope you like crap

  • Was Osama bin Laden watching SNL this day?

  • @akotr3mor Do us all a favor and shoot yourself.

  • @akotr3mor says the stupid loser who thinks people should kill themselves....speaks volumes. why not get off youtube and watch your tele-tubbies dvds?

  • @kenfo0 if you're going to try to degrade someone at least have some sort of feeble connection otherwise it just doesn't work out as an insult. So why not take a long walk off a short pier and do yourself a favor. obviously you're a fan of this idiot who's only speck of comical talent came from the celebrity jeopardy skits and even that was outshone by whoever played Sean Connery. If Norm was as funny as you idiots claim he would've had the same success as Will Ferrell...so obviously he is NOT

  • @akotr3mor cool story, queer.

  • @akotr3mor you're really, really stupid. and i mean that with gentle sincerity

  • @akotr3mor Norm was the undisputable king of weekend update.

  • love you norm

  • 0:00 - 0:08

    sounds like he's under water

  • Screw the audience for not laughing loud enough. They wouldn't know a good joke if it came up and bit them on the ass.

  • Anyone else catch Norm on SNL in the mid-90s mentioning that our airlines are vulnerable to terrorists?

  • Lol hahaha, "although it should be noted the drug is CRACK"

  • 1:40 - The number of border patrol agents will DOUBLE, to FORTY-NINE...

  • Best line ever on weekend update. "Happy Birthday Jesus! Hope you like crap!" lol

  • The audio on this kind of sucks.

  • Are you also getting just one image?

  • @Zwartekaka It's just the audio.

  • Norm makes it look so easy. Just an incredible talent, wit dry as the Gobi, with a superb technique that gives you a chance to get the joke. Sort of the opposite of the Dangerfield 'eye-pop' or the rimshot

  • When I heard the words Chairman of the Board, I could not help but remember Norm's famous put down of the Carrot Top movie. TO paraphrase "I got a title for ya, Box Office Poison."

  • Whoever made this, you are my god.

    Thank you for this.

  • Firefox...how was that in poor taste, the joke was made years before the 9/11 attacks, it's not like he could predict what would happen! He also made a joke about airport security, obviously not knowing what would happen in 2001.

  • Interesting that he mentions airlines being vulnerable to terrorist attack and the twin towers in the same bit.

  • 100 million billion!

  • norm predicts 9/11

  • Comment removed

  • Norm was by far the best anchor!

  • BECAUSE IT DETECTS LIES!

  • note to self: watch more norm macdonald vids.

  • Fuck Dane Cook, Norm is the funniest man alive.

  • @magicman205 Wait, are you implying that somebody thinks Dane Cook is the funniest man alive?

  • @magicman205 What is a "Dane Cook", a chef from Denmark?

  • best joke delivery of any anchor

  • I don't care what anyone says - the news segment on SNL hasn't been funny since they kicked Norm off of it.

  • Norm is a genius.

  • yeah now Snl is just going for lame sexual jokes i pretty much gave up on it except the weekend update.

  • Exactly right flicklefish. Norms comedy requires a measure of intelligence, I guess the morons at SNL didn't have it.

  • I want a Tickle Me Frank Stallone doll..waaaaaaaaa

  • Empire State had the Twin Towers rough up the Chrysler bldg.! LOL!

For the audience to not laugh just proves they're idiots... you gotta use your brain with Norm.

    PS, where can i get a Tickle-Me-Frank-Stallone?

  • ''His reason: It detects lies!'' LOL genius

  • @SolidSnake99x I think his best joke

  • " a top aviation watchdog group warned this week that the nations airlines are vulnerable to attack" . Someone was paying attention.

  • Comment removed

  • "Tickle-me Frank Stallone"...genius

  • I can't laugh at SNL anymore.

Norm was so much better than all others...

  • its typical that he would get fired. SNL sucks and is not funny AT ALL. he was the only part worth watching in the last 20 years so of course he got canned. people love dane cook and tyler perry. i rest my case.

  • @calathan you are dumb. you probably crack up at jay leno's monologue

  • I always like the 'Frank Stalone" jokes. He always had to throw one of those in. I could never figure out why, but it was still funny.

  • I personally thought Norm was funny as anchor but sometimes the silence after his punch-lines was a little uncomfortable....I think that's why NBC wanted him off weekend update.

  • those jokes sound like conan obrien wrote them

  • Fey, Fallon, Poehler, and Myers all have something in common: they were terrible. They tell bad jokes, and can't even deliver them.

Norm was the best. By far.

    Really miss his dry humor.

  • Fuck man, they should bring him back...Seth Meyers is lame as hell

    Norm is fantastic

  • No video? Not complaining or anything, just wondering. SNL needs to release a Norm best-of. I would buy in a heartbeat.

  • @jackhitts08

A Norm best of would be fantastic but will probably never happen thanks to the circumstances surrounding his dismissal

  • @Wortnick A guy can dream. It needs to happen though.

  • If he was so funny he wouldn't have been fired hehehehehehhahahaahah

  • the drug is CRACK! so.... hahahha

  • woah about the thing about airlines being vulnerable to attack....

  • Ok, Norm MacDonald or Dennis Miller? It's a hard one to call.

  • Thanks so much for uploading these, NORM RULES. One of the funniest guys in SNL ever.

  • very funny

  • IT DETECTS LIES! lol Classic!

  • There hasn't been a single funny newshost on SNL since Norm. Miller and Nealon were funny, and Norm was legendary. Everyone else since has been poor to terrible. Seth Myers is the blandest tool to ever have a position of prominence on SNL.

  • "Tickle me Frank Stallone" haha fantastic.

He actually said on howard stern that he really doesn't care if a joke bombs, and that when it does, it's almost funnier than when it doesn't.

  • The firing of Norm macDonald was the final nail in SNL's coffin. I haven't watched it since.

  • @DamonIcke

    Amen..

  • Same here. And NBC with Conan.

  • One hundred million billion...haha.

  • NORM PREDICTS THE AUGHTS? "The nation's airlines are vulnerable to terrorist attack."

  • Umm two things, that was real news. And two they feared the highjackings and hostages for ransom. Not highjacking and flying into buildings. It happened prior to this.

  • His reason "it detects lies".

Too clever for the audience of morons.

  • You have to have some measure of intelligence to appreciate Norm's humor. The fact he was fired for "not being funny" says it all. Welcome to the "dumming down" of America.

  • @flicklefish

You hit the nail on the head. Norm was excellent as a WU anchor. I was watching him when I was 9, and I was smart enough to get his humor.

  • @flicklefish You nailed it, 100%.

  • @flicklefish

He was fired because of that high-up executive who was buddies with OJ got him fired. Olhmeyer or something was his name, check on this site for him on the letterman show he explains it.

  • @flicklefish Couldn't have said it better myself.

  • @flicklefish I agree with you, but... you spelled "dumbing" as "dumming."

  • @ultimatepapelbon I was drinkin'.

  • @flicklefish "Dumming"? Dumbing. Siiiiigh.

  • @ChristophDX Really?

  • @flicklefish Could you not have spelt 'dumbing' correctly in a sentence talking about the 'Dumbing Down' of America?

  • @flicklefish I would note the irony in your post, but who really gives a fuck?

  • @flicklefish the dumbing and numbing and eventual end of life.

  • @flicklefish "dumming" "dumbing" :(

  • "you can flip that card any time you want"

  • the least popular selling doll? you guessed it, tickle me frank stallone

  • Happy birthday Jesus! I hope you like crap! -hilarious.

Did anyone else notice he mentions Terrorists on airplanes, and a couple minutes later mentions the Twin Towers (eerie)

  • double to 49

    not possible

norm missed it, but so what

  • "Happy birthday, Jesus! Hope you like crap!" Classic. Norm is easily the best SNL anchor of all time. Easily.

  • Norm definitely was the best Weekend Update anchor. The guy could save even the stupidest punchline. He followed Kevin Nealon, who I think was the worst. Nealon delivered it like he was doing a skit, when he really should have been doing it like a monologue. His delivery was bland, and he let the bad jokes die. He had more silence coming from the audience than any other Weekend Update.

  • Comment removed

  • Best. SNL. Anchor. Ever.

  • Without a doubt man.OPne of the biggest msitakes in snl history was firing norm from weekend update.

  • They must have known it too because they contractually bound him from appearing on any competing show after his firing.

  • @jlr41 agreed

  • @jlr41 i farted.

  • gotta love that dry humor :) love you normy

  • Wow. I just rediscovered all of these Norm MacDonald clips and I never realized how smart he was. One of the only comics who can literally recycle jokes and they become funnier every time you hear them.

It's not in this clip, but I can't help but notice Norm's jokes about the US government constantly needing the approval of "some Chinese guy." He was about ten years ahead of his time on that joke.

  • it's pretty easy to say that Norm is the best of the news guys/gals from SNL. I have to give props to the last three, but for me it will always be Norm. The jokes that bomb are sometimes the best.

  • I remember hearing this Week-End update. The Frank Stallone joke almost killed me. I laughed, rolling around on the bed for 5 minutes. The next day at the family dinner table spit gravy through my nose laughing again. I am a grown up - I was a grown up then. My 70 year old mother made me leave the table to gain back my composure.

  • "Nation's airlines are vulnerable to a terrorist attack." -- 1995 (Norm MacDonald)

  • this audience sucks.

  • Norm is awesome!

  • God, the audience is just painfully stupid. I guess that's why the show is where it is now.

  • i could listen to this guy talk all day

  • norm is and was fearless...he didnt give a shit if you thought it was funny, he did and that was enough

  • "You guessed it Frank Stallone". I love how he always used that joke even though nine times out of ten it would bomb. He thought it was funny so he could give less of a fuck if nobody laughed.

  • holy crap airlines are vulnerable to attack?!

  • LOL Norm's the man.

  • Happy Birthday Jesus, hope you like crap!

  • He should get a late night show for sure.

Kinda weird how he mentioned airport security problems AND the twin towers in this.

  • If only he had his own late night talk show.

  • Didn't Norm use that "Happy Birthday Jesus; hope you like crap!" punchline with Kenny G during another Christmas episode? :-) (not complaining; still a great bit! :-D)

  • Yeah he did.

  • I thought so. hehe :-)

Like I said, not complining; still a great bit! :-D Norm always rocks!

  • Yeah I understand :p Hey you have a pic of Jensen Ackles he's my hero!!!

  • :-D Yeah, Jensen's awesome!

I first saw him as Eric Brady on "Days of our Lives" (just to get this outta the way, I'm a guy...lol) but, since then I've tried to follow his career as best I could! :-D

  • Yeah I am too I just really look up to him

  • Has Norm been interviewed since MJ OD'd ? I'd love to hear his take on it.

  • thats hilarious. i remember he always had to say something about frank stallone.

  • 3:00 lol, take that bolton!

  • my muse!!! Norm was most definitely the best to ever host the news...

  • I guess I can add prophet to his titles...

  • Lots of 9/11 foreshadowing.

    Terrorists and airplanes

    Twin Towers

All in one weekend update well before 2001.

  • okay, so you're saying norm macdonald was behind 9/11?

  • these are things he read lol..

  • His delivery is the greatest

  • lol, I saw hima t the ontario Improv last year. I think he was blitzed off his ass.

  • Norm was by FAR the best Weekend Update'r SNL had. He must be hilarious stoned.

  • r u fuckin kiddin me!?

    no1 comes close to norm

seth meyers is a hack and a fuckin torch

  • Well, Seth's style is more like Norm than any other Update Anchor, but obviously he's not in the same league.

  • Thank you. That was all that I was saying. Not saying that Norm is inferior, or Seth is a god, simply saying their delivery is similar...

You Norm fans are crazy loyal!

  • i like seth but i think there's a.. i don't know, softness or PCness to his approach and current SNL in general that separates them, also he started out like most current SNLers as an improv player rather than a stand-up road dog like norm and a lot of the '93 cast, which just makes for a different vibe. so i see the deadpan similarity but wouldn't really compare them.

  • Seth doesn't even come close.

  • no one touches norm.

  • I didn't care much for Norm until Colin Quinn took over. Then I missed him terribly.

  • is there any way you can get the actual video? that would be amazing.

  • haha, i love how he goes "Jesus" at the end. It might have been a reaction to how much that crowd SUCKED.

  • lmfao 'happy birthday jesus, hope you like crap.' lol bolton blows. Norm owns all the other weekend update chumps. tickle me frank stallone..classic.

  • You are right. The audience is a bunch of humorless liberal assholes.

  • @md4bush I"m liberal and I LOVE norm. politics doesn't really have anything to do with it - to be so insecure as to force political shit into everything. "oh these people are just liberal blah blah blah" it is pretty pathetic. people are people and most aren't entirely defined by political views

  • @dweebieMC

Ok maybe not this crowd, but definitely the Tina Fey-Seth Meyer crowds. They tell some lame Palin joke and mug while the audience fake laughs.

  • this crowd blows

  • Norm would probably get a better reaction if his punchlines were a bit more predictable, i.e. every weekend update anchor since.

  • Yes, "Palin is stupid" would get a standing ovation.

  • I guess Norm was a bit ahead of his time or something, what an awful crowd reaction to some really funny stuff.

  • uh you enjoy the shrimp
