I have been listening to Nusrat since 1994 and love his way and style of singing (irrespective of what some purists say). Yaman Kalyan, the raag in which this is rendered, is a really beautiful raag amd the words and the music are really uplifting - takes you into a trance indeed. Doesn't matter what faith you belong to - listen and transcend.

I first heard some of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan when I was in my teens. Being English-born I am ignorant of the language he sings in, and I don't care much for religion, but I love the man's music. It surely comes through him from a sweeter world than the one we live in.

Just enjoy the Qawwali. We are all Muslims and Worship the same God ( Allah swt) and follow the same Rasool ( PBUH). I am Sunni and like all muslims I love Ali (RA). I love my Shia brothers and sisters and we are part of the same UMMAH. Create Unity amongst Muslims and do not say things that drive a wedge between brothers.
