I will always mourn the loss of this musician, yeah - until its time for me to go! We all have our favs, but Stevie Ray, Peter Green and Robert Johnson are my favs.

I was fortunate enough to see SRV and Double Trouble several times. Once he gave a free concert in the middle of a field in the midwest. Greg Allman's band opened for them. People were sooo cool and the music phenomonal. The cops on duty left everyone alone as people were openly snorting coke and passing it around. They(police) even told us where we could get more beer. The sound of my childhood becoming teenage discovery of the journey toward manhood...always...the sky may have stopped raining but it never stops crying for great musicians who come this way but once in a blue blue blue moon...
Imagine...comming out of a club in China...with a bit too much to drink...walking back to the hotel, through the alleys...with tin pan alley...on my htc...blasting the guitar sounds...wich reverb in the alleys.......omg what a feeling...
He's the only white guy who could play just like Jimi Hendrix.. I like the studio version of Tin Pan Alley better, but the guitar here is peerless. As was he.
@ColumbusIsraelites what is he then? part Native American, perhaps? He certainly isn't African American. As we all know, the blues is an African American tradition, no?
@oksb5421 Black man is America aint from Africa..Theyre the REAL Tribe of Judah of the Nation of Israel. Israel is scattered among all nations. Have you ever seen an actual African from Africa play guitar like this? I dont think so!!! Ever see an African get down like Muddy Waters? Dont think so..SRV is an Israelite!!! The African and the So called American Negroe are not the same people!! Its ALL LIES!!!!!!!!
@ColumbusIsraelites Dude, nobody says they're the same. However, if you listen to some African folk, especially Western Africa, you'l hear the roots. Especially in work songs, the call and reply etc. I agree, the blues is an American phenomenon. And let's not get too deeply into the semantics, I think we each know what the other one is talking abt.Peace! Btw, if you ever wanna talk to an Israelite, I'm at your services. oksb5421
@bostonianman23 The so called Jews in the state of Israel are not the real Jews, theyre imposters according to the Bible!!!

cool venue. stadium seating. let me ask any srv fan a question...and i'm not tryin to be a smartass. but what happened to that fuckin nose?? hit by a truck or maybe he was a boxer? any reply will be appreciated
He had a rhinoplasty when he was a kid. It was because he had breathing problems. If I remember correctly, he actually had to have multiple rhinoplasties because surgeons sucked back in those days, kept messing up on his nose. When they would improve the function of his nose, they would make it look like crap, he would have another rhinoplasty for aesthetic purposes, and they would mess up the function... dumbasses.
Whats with all the thumbs down on this, i heard Stevie say this him self too, on an Audio recording of him speaking at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. Doctor gave him a nose spray, and he said he always wondered why it made his face feel numb, later he found out it was a dilute solution of cocaine.
I doubt we will ever see anybody like him come along again. The audio quality of this video doesn't do Stevie justice. I saw that concert live in Germany in '84. He sounded as if a god-like musician descended down from heaven and gave us a piece of his soul. It was pure magic. Forget all that garbage that's being played on radio these days. smokin big fat joint . chase it with some jack listening to stevie ray on a moon lit night .kill me now cuz cant get any better feeling.. thank u lord for booze blues and marywanna
if it wasnt for him and Jimmy i would have no idea who i would have learned the importance of "phrasing" your notes, what it means to have texture, to have control over that demension of music is what brings musicians apart, too me anyways
he was the best. hear to him. Who played that, God, the Devil? No matter, it was stevie. Better than god, than hendrix . The one and only. Just play it with your heart and it sounds.
i don't think he sold his soul to the devil, he just had the soul to play the blues the way he did, anybody can play the technicality of it, but it takes the soul to give it the emotion
He was the guitar GOD,no one will ever come close, they all die young when they sell their soul though,He had to have, playing like that. The devil had his hand in that one.
You sir, are trash. This is a home-town hero to me. Stevie had nothing to do with the devil, my family knew him. You are ignorant as trash. He just learned how to play from one of the best, his brother, jimmy.
Stevie Ray did not sell his soul sir. Ever notice how many times he's wearing a cross? How many times he says "God Bless" to the audience. I saw him perform 4 times and he always expresssed that. God gave him a gift and he knew it. You need to understand some things before you accuse someone of "selling his soul." Think before you speak.
Remember where you were and what you were doing when you heard about the crash?? I was friggin playin Super Mario Bros. 2 on an all-nighter. It sure was sad!
I was high as a kite, like trippin, and loaded with probably a lb of coke, driving through Winter Park, Fl. somewhat disoriented, having dropped off a babe there, paranoid of their super-strict law enforcement, shakin in my skin, and playing this song as loud as the stereo would, and somehow I made it home. Never hear this song without the flashback. Great songs tend to do that, huh?!!!!!!!!!!
come on gents for fucks sake be nice to each other ,,you pair of cunts you pair of scum sucking shit pig,,you two are human ass smellers ha fucking ha

if it wasnt for him and Jimmy i would have no idea who i would have learned the importance of "phrasing" your notes, what it means to have texture, to have control over that demension of music is what brings musicians apart, too me anyways

he was the best. hear to him.

I remember the day, my sister called, I hoped it was Eric or BB, but it was SRV, I fell to my knees and cried, I would never see him play again.
