  • I have a MicroKorgX but have been lacking time to investigate it. Anyone know where I can fund tutorials, videos tips?

  • Super tu joue trés bien ,j'aime ces son du Synthé korg micro x,encore bravo de la part de Didier de la belgique

  • @MsDidier1973 Merci beaucoup, je suis content que vous appréciez la vidéo. Les salutations à Belgique !

  • Hi,

Does Korg replace this model by another one?

  • just made a video of a song i made using USB midi and sounds from the micro X, just click on my name and look at my uploads

  • Esse cara toca demais!!

  • I love Retrogene, its freakin awesome.

  • wonderful demo, thanks!

  • Liquified reminds me to ever dream

  • Simplesmente Fantastico,

    Obrigado pelo video

  • the "Liquified" pad at 3:12 is awesome! This is truly the best bang for the buck in a synth that anyone can get . Too bad that it was discontinued. I'm getting one soon.

  • Just wanted to say thank you for posting these! I have now made a decision to hunt one down thanks to you :)........Also, Northern Star sounds like music from Twin Peaks! Awesome.....

  • Comment removed

  • hey, keybdwizrd

the Liquified combi sounds so very close to the pad sound Madonna used in "the Power of Goodbye" and the chord progression u played is almost identical, except is in a different key! :) is that a coincidence...or not? :) anyways, thanks for posting all the vids on micro x. i am hoping i'll get one soon, as i can still find it in my country! cheers!

  • A complete coincidence, or something that happened subconciously...

  • where can i get this

  • Korg has discontinued them, but you could probably find one on eBay.

  • i did find on ebay they only got one..... lol im so mad but got no bidders

  • in the netherlands you can stil get this :)

  • Can you do some more with heavens bells? It sounds like something that would play in the beging of some old 90's 80's family movie ha ha.

  • I'm so getting this! Also, sick guitar tone on that thing! :D

  • The liquified song sounds more like lost!

  • Liquified!!

Sounds a lot like the Synth used in Coldplays X&Y Album, i believe the demo played is from one of their songs too :)

    Nice

  • I guess the song you think of, is The Scientist from the album " A rush of blood to the head"

  • Uh, guys, I think mysticradio's comment on the microX being "long gone" was in reference to HIS microX that he had for sale, not a comment on the synth itself. Calm down!

Anyway, these demos are sublime, like all of keybdwizrd's stuff.

  • Wow... the guitarist patch sounds so good.

  • DESCENTTOHEAVEN.... its.. '' you're '' an idiot ... not 'YOUR' an idiot.... careful now eh.. lol Just listen to the keyboard wiz and learn sumpin......hehe

  • Guitarist patch is fucking awesome. This coming from a good guitar player aswell

  • microX is LONG LONG gone

  • Your an idiot.

  • does the X50 have the same sounds as this?

  • No, I believe the X50 has a different sound set, although there are some similarities.

  • can you get all the sounds or most of them from an M50...... not X50........ I HAVE A microX FOR SALE... please contact

  • how much you looking for

  • how much? Really interested

  • nice!

and the very first sounds like it has escaped from a final fantasy sound track, way cool!

  • Thanks!

  • é impressionante o que 25 teclas não fazem =O

  • OMG !

  • eu com uma belezinha dessa estava feito.

  • That is amazing playing. Im getting a Micro X soon. How would you rate the piano sounds from 1 - 10?

  • IMHO, the piano sounds are among the least impressive sounds in the Micro X, when compared to other instruments I have like the Yamaha Motif.

  • Is There an octave switch?

  • yes

  • do u need to run these through a computer or can u use regular speakers and keyboard amps?

  • A computer is not necessary.

  • freakin sweet. liquified kinda sounds like the ending to white shadows by coldplay. just a little.

  • haha the way you played heavens bells would fit in with a mid nineties family movie trailer

  • heaven bells made me think of Matilda

  • retrogene is so awesome! im thinking about getting a synthesizer so yea

  • have u messed with the r3 yet ? if so what do you think the main difference is. (anyone) is there any drum patches and u make or tweak your own.

    thnx man

    culture

  • Although I don't own the R3 I have tried it at samash multiple times and am planning on buying it, its a great synth IMO. but, in response to your question, no, it does not have any drum patches but it does have an arpeggiator which can have a "beat" feeling with it.

  • iff i buy the micro-x and i play whith a basse guiatr i can do electro

  • hey keybdwizrd,

are there any piano-sounds in the micro-x?

  • Yes, and IMHO they are mostly very weak compared to other instruments on the market.

  • Nice work!!!! =)

  • the last sound combo (aka the night before) sounds sick, and would really complement my band's sound.

Looks like I'm gonna have to save some cash for one.

    Thanks for the videos!

  • At 3.13 the "Liquified" sound and chord arrangements could be used for Aha's "The sun always shines on t.v" ....

    Touch me

    How can it be

    Believe me

The sun always shines on T.V

    Hold me

    Close to your heart

    Touch me

And give all your love to me

    to me...

  • Cool.

All that with just 2 octaves.

  • ...although I find that a bit limiting... I would hook it up immediately with a bigger keyboard.

Question, please help: I know it doesn't have aftertouch, but if I connect it to my aftertouch sensitive keyboard, will it accept aftertouch by that? I will really miss it, I adore working with aftertouch. On the other hand, I really like that it's something like a mini "workstation", so portable and yet so rich sounding.

  • heavens bells sound familiar, did u hear it from somewhere and if u did where from

  • It is just something I made up on the spot.

  • sounds really good, thanks

  • Thanks... but boo no batteries!

    nice work

  • No.

  • Also can this run on AA batteries like the microkorg?

  • How easy is it to learn the inter-workings of this synth?

    L H

    1 to 10

  • I think it is easier when using the editing software that comes with the synth. Programming using the front panel only can be a bit frustrating.

  • this may sound stupid, but my friend is thinking of buying one, i would like to know if the synth has an integrated delay and/or reverb? nice video!

  • Yes, the Micro X has built-in effects, including delay and reverb.

  • Oh yeah... another question... r u able to load in SySex patches of the MicroKorg and MS2000 into the Micro X?

  • I don't know for sure, but my guess is that this would not be possible. These are all very different synthesizers.

  • Hey man, I've started to rely on your demo vids to buy synths. I've got a question though... if its a toss between Micro X and MicroKorg which is more sonically cut out for electronic music/trance? Your recommendation will be kindly appreciated.

  • Sorry, but I don't have any experience with the MicroKorg. There is a discussion forum at the Korg website where I imagine people could give advice on this. Also there is a great keyboard and synth forum at the Harmony Central website. Lots of knowledgeable people there.

  • I am very ignorant in synthesiser business but are those samples all built in the synthesiser or is it the samples you somehow loaded on it?

  • All sounds are factory presets that come with the instrument.

  • try some of hanz zimmer

  • I love 'Retrogene' Michael, brilliant. Is that a normal pre-set program combination?

  • Yes, it's a factory preset, if that's what you mean.

  • Ah, yes, thats what I meant thanks.

  • Any chance of doing an extended version of retrogene and posting it here, or as an mp3 on your site please? Thanks Michael.

  • I'll add it to the long list of things to do. :)

  • Great, many thanx. Look forward to it.

  • ive just read your biog on your site michael. It's shitty what happend to you guys, but its quite common from that time.

its great that youre still "up" in terms of a vibe, simply because you are a thoroughbred gig hardened musician whose soul is wrapped around music.

    repsect to ya, matey :-)

  • Thanks.

  • man i dont know what to get for a first time synther

    microKorg at 240 pounds

or one of these for 330 pounds.

    whats the pros and cons?

  • Sorry, I am not familiar with the microKorg. Would suggest you visit the keyboard forum at the Harmony Central website.

  • well, they are both 2 completely different machines. The microkorg is an analog modeled synthesizer (strictly synthesizer sounds and highly programmable) but this is a keyboard that has many different sounds then just synths, but less programmable. so yur lookin at 2 very different machines

  • do they still sell this synthesizer?

  • Yep. Check online retailers such as Sweetwater, Musicians Friend, etc.

  • cool! I so want to get one!

  • northern stars sounds like the twin peaks theme.... haha. rockin.

i'm trying to find a machine to make psytrance music but i'm looking for something with a wide range of percussion options... or at least something that lets me set a standard 4/4 bass drum loop. would this be enough or should i start saving for a rythym pad also? (i don't want to spend ALL of my money).

    thoughts?

  • The Micro X has many, many drum and percussion sounds. The arpeggiators can be used to create drum loops.

  • omg you are so good at playing 1st coupe of of songs sound so final fantasy good work (^_^)

  • pero vo so looco, tus videos no cargan mas gato

  • this has really changed my mind into getting a micro x instead of a microkorg

the sounds on the micro x in these demo are just so much more powerful then those of the microkorg

im looking forward to getting my micro x

    thanks!

  • I have a microKORG. It's very different from this... The mircoKORG is about synthesizing analog sounds, and the microX is about synthesizing microX sounds.

I've decided that I'm probably going to get this next.

  • Wow, 'Liquified' sounds very Eno-ish. Very nice.

  • Nice Demo - I love my MicroX but if you can please advise me:

How do I Globally turn OFF all of the cheezy rhythm presets so they dont blast my speakers when I am scrolling through patches ???

This annoying consumer feature makes the MicroX very difficult to use in a live context.

    Cheers

  • Hmmm... I don't know, actually.

  • BIG MAN!!!!

    Yeah! Fantastic!

    Dolbi

  • I didnt like it

    i liked your moog there

    ;D

  • That all sounds sweet, man, thanks for postin it.

I'm planning on getting the Micro X or the Karma. Do you know if the sounds (patches/fx whatever) on both are basically the same? Cos that's all I'm really interested in... not the other bells n whistles like fullsize board, expandability etc. Cheers!

  • Thanks. Sorry, but I not knowledgeable about the Karma. You might try korgforums com or the Harmony Central forums.

  • nice talent there, looks like a fun lil gizmo

  • Is this just straight from the box , or with a sound module ? i ask ..cause ime thinking of buying one 4 myself ....great demo of synth thow

  • Just straight from the box.

  • thank you for the demo. just like i thought. korg will never learn. the sounds are so flat.

  • yea... at least from my personal expierience with a microkorg, korg sounds are pretty thin. even compared to the micron, its still thin. (micron does have surprising fat sounds though)

  • I love the "Liquified" patch.

    Excellant demo keybdwizrd

  • LAST ONE IS VERY JARRE-ISTIC;]

    like on rendez vous album.

    it's like 8 synthesizers stacked in a combination,with 2 arpegiators/seq/beatboxes.

can make very complex patches out of this little thing,by just changing the preset sounds in the factory pages.

and theres 4 rows of 4 pots to edit filters, and envs.

    very nice.rhodes,strings,synths...

    buy it.

  • Hello I plan to buy one to myself and I have a question: what device do I have to poséder to be able to make the same sound as you?

  • Who do you play for?

  • Just for myself and the folks on YouTube!

  • are yo using any other outboard effects other than the Kx ? or this all Kx

  • No outboard effects.

  • i gotta get me one of these - just for the classical guitar

  • your demos are much better than the stephen kay dude lol....you should do the karma demos for him lol!

  • sounds like an interesting little gadget - thanks for posting

  • ***** 5 stars *****

    :-)

  • that guitar sounds very good.

  • really nice demo. good work.

  • You rock man!
