  • I think people fail to realize that it's cheaper to buy armour than making it yourself. Good German thinking to keep the cost down

  • germanys -why u never won a single war with yours qqqqquality things?

  • @apelsinas691 Because we had good engineering but bad political leaders. Germany is a small country compared to the nations we fought against. I love our engineering, but I'm glad we do not use our tanks anymore.

  • As an American, if could choose to serve on any tank other than the Abrams, it'd be this fine machine.

  • THIS TANK IS IN MW3 CAMPAIGN!!

  • made in germany=TOP QUALITY!

  • These new German tanks could take France and Poland in half the time ;)

  • Am I the only one that is noticing the "unintentional" similarity between the Leopard and the Tiger?

Tiger/Leopard: Big gun, advanced tank, little bulky and squared turret

Tiger 2/ Leo 2: Turret is angled now, more advanced

  • If the tank is underwater that means to the enemy the tank will appear in thin air.

  • leopard 2 is the best tank how if leopard tank compared with russian tank bmp3f bmp3f is a good tank can coss the lake too, leopard also nice tank but can't cross the lake

  • these tanks are fuckin beast, even more badass given there ancestors were tigers and panthers

  • the best tank in the world indonesia will buy 200 tank in 2012

  • How about old German tanks (eg Panzer, Tiger or Panther's)?

  • 0:57 Getting ready for rape 1:01 ohhhhh that was a good fuck

  • This looks really awesome.

  • M1A1 and M1A2 are piece of shit things lol

  • Germany rules

  • fuck !! the leopard 2 is no match for the m1a2 tank .

  • @kuyaTanY on top of what Khristophoros said, the Leo 2 uses standard engine parts that are commonly used... the cost of maintenance for the Leo 2 is far less then the M1A2.

  • what is the stronger in terms of fire power ? the m1a2 or the leopard 2 ?

  • @kuyaTanY Both the Abrams and the Leo 2 uses Rheinmetall 120 mm gun (German creation) German Leo 2's had the Rheinmetall 120 L44 cannon on all version up to the A5 version. Now they have 120 mm L55 which is a larger caliber gun, so the Leopard 2A5-A7 has a larger firepower :).

  • @Khristophoros1001 ROFL. you have no idea what ur talking about.

  • @ADouBTor Please don't bother me with your bullshit! If you don't have anything to say then don't say anything at all.....

  • @Khristophoros1001 Difference between L/44 and L/55 being the latter has a longer gun. Yes, L/55 offeres 'larger firepower' (better firepower would be the correct term) but not through larger caliber. Both guns has the same caliber - 120mm (L/55 somehow has larger caliber according to you even when you've state both are 120s). Power is increased through the additional muzzle velocity the projectile has from a higher peak pressure from the propellant. Caliber on tanks refer to the DIAMETER(120mm)

  • @kuyaTanY if ur comparing M1A2 to Leo2s with L/44 guns they are the same. M256 guns are modified L/44 to increase the resistance to fatigue. L/44 can fire whatever, or most, ammunition M256 uses. L/55 has a longer gun resulting in higher peak pressure from the propellent, which in turn gives a higher muzzle velocity and longer range. Anyway M256 is L/44 so yea, u get the idea. =D

  • German engineering gives me a hard-on.

  • No matter how bad ass this tank may be, one A-10 Warthog can kill ten of these

  • @anotherMfan Don't be so sure ...it's a big ass tank :P

  • dear santa....

  • One of my great grandfathers was in German Infantry in WW2 and another of my great grandfathers was in the American Merchant Marines. in WW2 and even he was of German blood. I take pride in my German heritage regardless of what side they fought for.

  • ride a tank underwater... looks awesome

  • imagine a modern day world war...

  • germans are scary o_0

  • "Made in Germany"...that's the best possible quality label that any product could have. Cars, military equipment, construction machinery, home appliances, electronics, sporting goods, beer and etc. Things made in Germany are always top quality.

  • @Playster3

One has the wonder if in America for example it was the german engineers who build such engines as the F404. Germans were always the backbone of every country they settled on. Those americans and brits who have german blood in them can't take pride of it because of the heavy brainwashing by you know who.

  • @Playster3 have to say I agree german made stuff last and age sadly tough most thingsa here are made in china

  • @Playster3 i also love german music just like RAMMSTEIN i love Germans

  • @Playster3

Apart from the old ''Made in GB''.

  • @theshow2k8 You're joking right? If so then haha but if not then you're simply crazy!

  • @Playster3

What companies in Germany have been pioneering or qualitatively superior in electronics? I thought the far east and USA dominated this sector.

  • @Playster3 Unfortunately, it also almost always means "very expensive" =(

  • @Playster3 Except the Shamwow.

  • @Playster3 Funny how they use British armour, the most important part of the Panzer!

  • @buzzzatho There are three componants a tank is depending on: armour, firepower and manoeuvrability. It's a natural law in engineering that you can only achieve two of them at a maximum level at a time. German military doctrine in tank warfare since end of WW II always chose firepower and manoeuvrability over armour. The most important part of this tank is the 120mm smoothbore tank gun. It outperformed British and American guns, so that both M1 and Challenger II nowadays use the German gun.

  • @BoeserBiber i agree with you on the main gun and the engineering choices, but the armour is not bad at all, its not german but it isnt bad...

A tank with good engine and good gun that gets stopped by a simple IED is no good in the overall...

  • @buzzzatho True. Especially in asymmetric warfare, armour gets more and more important. The Leo2 is a tank developed during the cold war. His biggest strength is the combat against other tanks. The newest version of the Leopard 2, the Leo 2 A7+ is optimized for asymmetric warfare scenarios. It focuses more on protection (especially against mines and IEDs). So it tends back to the time of WWII when German military doctrine focused on armour and firepower with a lack of manoeuvrability.

  • @buzzzatho So in the end you may be right with the armour becoming more and more important. But I'm still not sure if there will be a role of classic MBTs like the Leo or M1 in future asymmetric conflicts. Actually IFVs become more and more important. Maybe it would be wise to create a new type of vehicle for urban operations and keep the MBTs like they are for symmetric warfare.

  • Made in Germany

  • 0:49-0:54 So Drik Nowitzki was a tanker before being a NBA Player. o_O

  • Chineese: Tanks of bamboo!

Russian: Engines that runs on vodka!

    U.S.A: Hight tech af f***

    Germany: quality!

Thats how the world is in my head :P

  • @MrShrapnelDK that's righty :) and it make us germans proud to hear it from non-germans :) except USA most of the High tech is stolen from us after ww2 :) greetz from good new Germany!

  • @oXbOxr00X

Erm..the only thing the US DIDN'T steal from the Germans was microprocessor technology; all other superior tech was developed from stolen German technology.

  • @52111centrumcz yea, in 1960 we had other things todo .... rebuilt germany :)

  • @52111centrumcz yea not really, Jürgen Dethloff was the very first who got the clue :) in 1969 but it was not really a microprocessor more the sim-card.

  • @MrShrapnelDK i think it should be more like:

    Chinese: lots of them!

    Russia: lots of armour!

    U.S.A: big gun!

    Germany: Quality

  • @MrShrapnelDK not everything in the russian army is based on vodka.

  • @Xiia0Sn00pY just the personnel! XD just kiddin, Gorbies are a formidable opponent, too bad they sell weapons to terrorists...

  • @buzzzatho unfortunately they sometimes have no choice. germans, americans and natos countries have sufficient fundings and money to enhance their miltary techology and their own country. whilst russia hasnt a choice but mostly survives alone and has to depend on these things to fund their own country.

  • @MrShrapnelDK Engines running on vodka? That would be fucking awesome engineering! :D

  • @MrShrapnelDK the good thing about german tanks is: they are light as bamboo, their engines runs with every flamable liquid (like vodka), they are high tech as fuck and all this in the best possible quality. ;)

  • @0:22 what kind of a round was that?

  • the underwater function is a good idea, i think.

the leopard 1 cold diving, too. you can't shoot underwater, that's clear. it's simply the diving function. you need no bridges, no little ships or ferries. you can stay underwater and undetected.

  • How long can they stay under water and can they go under water with out that tower

  • @TheCFarmy Well, they an go underwater without it of course, but who woild guide it then? :P

  • @TheCFarmy the leopard can stay for hours underwater and the tower will be requiered, you can it disguise. the motor and the hole tank is fully functional underwater. you can wait with 6 tanks in a river or a lake underwater between the reed and strike from the back when the enemy is surprised. the idea was, that you can cross a river without a bridge.

  • German tanks named after aggressive big cats

British tanks named after corny punch lines

American tanks named after famous americans

Russian tanks named after consecutive numbers Yeah, that tells you a country's culture for sure

  • @USparatroopersurgeon To be perfectly honest, American tanks were also named after consecutive numbers, in fact, most tanks are, they just get nicknames, and most American tanks during WW2 got their names from the British, like the M4 Sherman or the M3 Lee.

The British was naming American built tanks after famous American Civil war generals.

The russians also gave nicknames to their tanks, Like the KV and IS tanks.

  • @icecremer Well yeah sure they got numbers but what makes them unique is the fact that those tanks are named after Americans. M3 Lee is named after a famous Civil war general and Sherman had such a hardnosed rep in the army a tank was named after him. Russian tanks may have nicknames, but ever since the USSR they have been called t-#

  • @USparatroopersurgeon

Actually the Russian numbers on the Ts are supposed to be the years the first time the design was finalized and accepted by passing the military acceptance trials.

  • 7:12 You, my good sir, are shitting me.

  • "The Königs Leopard" :-P

  • the Merkava is the best tank in the world!!!!

  • @madturtlefan Nope.

  • @Spezza149 YES!!!!!

  • @madturtlefan NOPE!

  • @madturtlefan No its not, and you have ntohing to be proud of being Israeli, your entire defence budget is paid for by the Americans

  • @ScottishCaledonian Dude, dun get mess up,im a Proud Singaporean, and the Singapore army has the leopard tank, but in my opinion i like the Mekava...

  • @ScottishCaledonian israel owns america

  • Every one saying which tank is better and what not have not fought in tanks before

  • this is the best tank in the world and the cv90 is the best light tank both in the swedish army!!!!

  • Made in GERMANY :D

  • 4000 yards. Why the short range? 5000m record with Challenger unbeaten!

  • @m52spy u mean the same smoothbore gun that the uk borrowed from germany beat the leopard 2...

I am british and i can tell german design is no comparison to uk crap...

  • @ibm0026

WTH are you talking about? Borrowed gun? We tried the smoothbore (not in combat, mind you the Leo hasn't been tried in combat tank v tank)and there was no advantage over the rifled British barrel. In fact they could not engage targets over 4000yds. British crap? What sniper rifle do the German's use when they want accuracy? Yep you guessed it, Accuracy international based in the UK. A company who produces a weapon that holds the record for longest sniper kill. I see a pattern!

  • @ibm0026

So don't do down British engineering, you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Where as i spent 11 years fixing Tanks in the British army. Back to COD fool.

  • @ibm0026

The Challanger does NOT use a copy of the 120mm smoothbore; it uses a rifled cannon!!! Its the L-30 if I'm not mistaken and the Brits use it because they wished to retain the ability to fire HESH warheads.

  • @52111centrumcz

The Brits used it because smoothbore ammunition (which is cheaper) is 1 piece compared to the rifled ammo that is in several pieces, as a result only 6 1 piece rounds could be stored in the turret. Thus the money saved buying smoothbore ammunition would be far less than a redesign of the CR2's turret so they kept the L30 CHARM.

HESH wasn't the primary reason, it was mostly a financial reason. Though the use of HESH did have some contribution i would have imagined.

  • @ibm0026

The Brits use the rifled L30 CHARM not the smoothbore L-55. The idea of using the L-55 was thrown out during testing, if you are going to have an opinion then at least know the basic facts you moron.

  • PERO QUE HAY DE SU CAPACIDAD PARA SOPORTAR MISILES ANTITANQUES DE ULTIMA GENERACION COM EL KORNET-E. SEGUN SU CONSTRUCTOR ESTE MISIL PUEDE ATRAVESAR 1200 MM DE ARMADURA Y EL LEOPARD2 SOLO TIENE UNA ARMADURA DE 700 MM ???????

  • Love the muzak in the background

  • Der alte Turm sieht dem Tieger 2 verdamt ähnlich

  • Incoming U-Panzer!

  • you can have facial hair in the Germany army

  • Oh Germany, u guys are just awesome.

  • So German turn this tank into new U-Boat???

  • After seeing this demonstration video it comes as no surprise that Saudi Arabia wants to buy 200 Leopard tanks, preferring it over the American M1 A1 Abrams.

  • that is the sexiest tank ive ever seen...

  • great video horrible music

  • damn germans and their engineering perfection!.. great tank btw

  • the germans always seem to make good tanks.

  • Fucking Chinese will imitate these awesome tanks fuck china

  • challenger 2 is better

  • @ManicMammoth Nuh-Uh.

  • @Helge129

In many ways it is. In some its not.

  • and armor from Michigan Tech

  • This tank just says: "fuck you M1, abrams "

  • love the porn music.

  • Did anyone mentioned that it has comfy seats?

  • yeaaah this is german technology

  • @MarciVanDarci Look out, Poland.

  • Hell its mine resistant . . . F*** me. But does it only works once?

  • why germans dont use slopped armor?

  • @uzickimajmunac Cost room

  • Yay for german engineering.

  • HOLY CRAP!

    AA gun on a Tank!

  • This reminds me of the tiger 2

  • Lol, the "disco" music in the video.

  • I forgot everything i does...Just remembered it can go underwater ..fuck me sideways

  • challenger 2. all im saying.

  • @albertjester it wouldn't stand a chance.. ok I might have but the Leopard 2 is still a better tank. for example it has a better gun and is faster

  • 6:28 the camera man was hungry...for donuts lol

  • I wouldn't mind driving one of these babies around in Battlefield 3..

  • I say the M1a2 and the Leo2 are the two best tanks ever made, they are both equally as good.

  • @evilmuffen117 Abrams copies the Leo2A5's L44 gun. Leo 2a6 is the best and M1a2 is second. The other tanks are inferior to both.

  • @shadowdancerRFW Yes ,they both use they same gun,The Germans helped with the build of the Abrams.

The only thing i like more about the leo is its engine, same speed less fuel.

  • @shadowdancerRFW and the sound of the Leo is bad ass!

  • @Banananaish This bad ass sound of the leo will give it away coz it will be heard for several hundred meters by the taliban. That's a sad fact that the danes fighting in afghanistan found out. The taliban doesn't have sophisticated thermal imagers to locate your tank, but they do have ears. They can hear your tank coming from as far as a mile away, and that gives them plenty of time to set up an ambush, or worse, plant an ied.

  • @m16a4ish Damn, you spread your bullshit everywhere, how great the german/british built Abrams is. The gas turbine is as loud as the diesel engine. Don't tell me anything, i have seen both tanks in action together. And there is a good reason, why the americans wanted to buy the german MTU diesel engine for the next Abrams generation and don't give fuck about the turbine. The M1 abrams can't even drive submerged in Water, what is a WORLDWIDE standard with MBT's. It also sucks 2 times more gas.

  • @m16a4ish

XFD like an IED is going to take out a leopard! You are obviously unfamiliar with German technology but no Taliban shit soldiers going to take out German made weapons en masse LOL

  • Abrams: Australia Kuwait Morocco Egypt Iraq Saudi Leopard:Austria Canada Chile Denmark Finland Greece Netherland Norway Poland Potugal Singapore Spain Sweden Switzerland Turkey

  • These tanks (M1A2 & LEO2A6M) will meet on the battlefield... as allies.

Germany,Dutch,Canadians and others use the Leo

And as a Canadians i thank the Dutch and Germans for lending us some L2A4 and 2A6M

  • @PcGamerPaul We actually sold you 80 2A4 and 20 2A6 as the Netherlands.

Sadly our government is retarded and they have phased out our Leopard 2A6 tanks.

The last 91 will be taken out of service on may 8.

There goes over 400 years of Dutch cavalry.

  • @CallofDaniel Damn that's not a good decision. My condolences to the Dutch Cavalry.

  • two different tanks/American and german weakers.feed Turkey

  • The M1A2 and Leo2A6 are the same in almost every aspect (as far as performance goes). Except I would much rather pay the gas bill (and therefore deal with the logistics of refueling) of a Leo2. The M1's only drawback is it's engine. The Leo2 has better range and that's on a smaller fuel tank. An army needs to supply WAY more fuel to a theatre of operations to supply a fleet of M1s than an army fielding the Leo2. The A6/7 model of Leo2 has a more powerful gun as well (L55 as opposed to M1s L44).

  • @icantafford Especially with the way gas prices and availability are going now, the Abrams just guzzles money by the bucketful.

  • It... goes underwater...

    Well f*** me...

  • @KillamriX98

    Submerine: "WTF was that?"

"Oh nothing... just a tank firing at us"

  • @KillamriX98 Of course, doesn't all tanks do that?

  • Comment removed

  • @KillamriX98 next you goon see haw the leo 2 is goes on water :)))

  • @GiftedGreedy i can just see it KING LEOPARD ACE!

  • i think the abrams is a better tank, but only for a country with a ridiculous amount of money and recources. the leopard is more realistic.

  • Quit argueing over which one is better, it's just opinions. I was born in Germany raised halfway there then raised the other half in America, so I have no sides.

  • the ideology of tiger tank still remain in german

  • Leopard is crap if u compare it to the Abrams.

  • @ViciousCritique I wouldn't call it crap in comparison. The Leopard is still a very good machine and its usage, I would assume, is virtually identical to the Abrams.

Also keep in mind that the Leopard costs less. The 2A6 costs 5.6+ million USD (2006) per unit versus the Abrams costing 6.21 million USD (1999) per unit and inflation has probably pushed that up quite a bit. It drinks less fuel and due to the widespread nature of the Leopard family, replacement parts are cheaper.

  • @ViciousCritique abrams sounds like a fucking vacuum cleaner.

  • @ViciousCritique leopard is alot better -_-

  • @VideoGamerize No its not.

  • @ViciousCritique yes it is and thats my opinion :DD

  • @VideoGamerize Sorry friend, but with over 9000 Abrams made and with over half held by the USA, Stalin's quote is valid: "Quantity has a quality of its own."

  • @cheyenne92646 compared to Russia's 22,000 MBT army.

  • @MrAl3x0o 1200 active, 8k reserve and parts, the rest sold, scrapped and in museums. Warfare.ru, janes, etc.

  • @cheyenne92646 how do you know? the Ruskies dont tell us everything ya know.

  • @cheyenne92646

    I think Lenin said that....

  • @ViciousCritique

Hmmmm, than maybe you could explain to me why I, as a former gunner of the loe2, had a kill death ratio of 10 to 1 in the manuvers against the abrams?

  • @OnkelWurstbrot Nice fairy tale....

  • SECOND TO NONE

  • Best tank ever.

  • are these pretty much the same as the m1a1 abrams?

  • This tank is pretty bad ass, on paper. It has performed exceptionally well, in practice. It has a very high kill rate, in simulations. It's armor can withstand anything, from controlled explosions to controlled "enemy" fire. It has extensive "combat" experience, patrolling the streets of kosovo and the "very dangerous" anti-taliban north in afghanistan. Oh, I forgot. It also survived a very, very, very scary uncontrolled explosion from a tiny ied. Wow, what a tank.

  • @m16a4ish Do you think a hit in battle is more destructive due to the "wow, battle feeling"-factor than the same hit in a test?

  • @m16a4ish The A5/6 variants support armour superior to that of the M1(and all it's variants) despite being lighter. The L55 cannon in the A6 and "+" variants is more powerful than the M1A1/2's L44. The speed and power are near identical.

And the Leopard 2's engine is a million times better in a combat situation because it's engine is deisel. The gasoline engine in the M1 is a logistics nightmare, it is a gas guzzler and damn near needs a fleet of soft fuel trucks following it (ideal targets)

  • @m16a4ish hahaha now youre an american like someone would imagine.....arrogant as nothing else and always claiming that made in USA is the best and everything else is crap.......well what would american M1 tanks be without germany? probaly crushed plastic due to russian armor

  • @DeltaBoy85 well said

  • why argue it said it uses the challenger armour developed by the british whats the deal same tank technically

  • What is official film name ? pls help me

  • Anybody else notice at 5:37 when he states the top speed, he refers to it as "leo 1", not 2.

  • @F0M0C0 Yea I heard that.

  • @Leathlord: Hahahaha, this is hilaryous!

This Values were in a PDF of the German Bundeswehr. They actually need to know it. If the DM53 penetrates 3600mm it would be go through 8 T-72B in row.

If you can German: " L/44 mit DM53:Laut Angaben der Bundeswehr kann damit eine Durchschlagsleistung von 810 mm Panzerstahl auf eine Entfernung von 2000 m erreicht werden."
