Oh man...I grew up in the Bay Area, lived in The City during the early 90s, but was so busy being a frickin' goth these guys never made it on the radar. To my shame...they are the perfect blend of a whole bunch of styles. Guys, I am so, so, so sorry I was such a jackass in my youth...
there she stands there she sits water, life, and grace ...in their hands who you gonna' listen to if it's only just a smile? thank god for sin to show the way where she lies, where she waits. there's an act of grace... in their eyes who you going to listen to if it's only just a smile? thank god for sin to show the way (stay a little lonely this time, stay a little longer this time)
Swell, My Bloody Valentine and Joy Division were never out my stereo in the early 90's and I love them as much now as I did then. I'd love to create something so beautiful and timeless!
i like this vid to . It has that 90s feel to it . so simple but yet so better than anything out there today. i think its that slow motion thang??/ any ideas anyone??
love this band!

When I heard this song I was a fan instantly.
Saw them live once in the Netherlands. There were like 25 people at the show, a shame; but they played superb!

possibly my favourite album ever.

Seriously underrated band.
I don't like the new stuff so much (haven't really heard too much) - But their old stuff is ridiculously good.
How did they not get a greater following?
The albums: Well? and 41 are musical master-pieces.

I always come back to Swell. I might go through a Radiohead or The Shins period... but it's always back home to Swell.

..by the way...are these not the weirdest, most tasteful sounding drums you've ever heard?
lapdogwilly1 2 years ago 15
seans kirkpatriks drumstyle is the only reason i got into drumming. think it was in "..well?" song called "everything". wow..
phunkaizer 2 years ago 3
lapdogwilly1 you´re so right!!! hear the drummer get wicked ;) the drummer is very important for that band. he knows what he does.

My favourite song off of one of my favourite albums. The most overlooked, underappreciated album in american "indie rock" history.

David Freel ressembles Hugh Laurie ... Sean Kirkpatrick rocks ... the world needs more drummers like him

A very down to earth and infinitely mysterious music and an absolutely BRILLIANT DRUMMER!
