Many years ago another greedy developer build a tower in the rockland area right on top of a hill. Once it became clean to Victorians how out of tune with the enviroment this was, the City refused anymore hill top developments that messed with the ridglines of our beautiful hills and mountains.. WHEW! This new development MUST be stopped. It will permanently ruin what makes Victoria so attractive.

The Irony is that the greedy developers are promoting the views and vista's, but they have destroyed the views and vista for the rest of Victoria. To top it all off they have Lanford Mayor and council's blessing to go ahead with 4 massive towers right on the top of BARE mountain, with up to 45 floors each. The greedy developers have plans for another 6 towers on the top of the mountain as well.!
This promo video shows beautiful vistas from all over Victoria and region, however the development itself is a ugly eysore with ugly terraformed building lots and denuded forests. The rest of the region has to look at this mess and it will get worse as it develops on the visible part of the mountain.
Hey, dusty" could you maybe give people visuals, the before (a site called Natural History Atlas on line) and the after, a graphic idea of what this multiple tower hidiosity is going to look like when it is completed? Some may need visuals to "get" it.

If development generates revenue, why is Langford million$ in debt? And ....What about when the economy turns the other way? You pay.
Eight years planning to manage and control growth in the CRD region and yet the CRD board just voted 10 to 8 for development. Once the precedent is set, the dominos drop one by one, irreversibly. Where is long term water/density planning??? Are YOU ready to be taxed dry?
Better yet? As soon as the public hearing has been announced object to expansion of the Regional Growth Strategy. It is this turnkey shift which will lead to ever taller proliferating Viagra towers and unsightly urban sprawl everywhere.
This will be the tallest tower on Vancouver Island, on one of the tallest points of land in the Capital Regional District. It will stand as a monolith to human greed and a chronic reminder of our lack of vision and respect for the environment. It's shameful. I agree with all of your comments! This is a flagrant misuse of political power on behalf of Langford council. We can't let such a small group of decision-makers allow such a preposterous development without hearing about it. They must hear from as many people as possible who object to this. Let them know we are not asleep. What are they thinking (well, we know).
In typical Langford fashion, the pro development short sighted ones do NOT "get" that sophisticated planners with any long term vision do not build something retrogressive like this in the middle of any natural landscape. they would incorporate something into the landscape instead of imposing it on top of it obliviously.
Whether it is one more selfish act on Langford's part, or not, this project shows just how desperately unworldly and backward some of Langford's elected officials really seem to be, underneath the "wannabe Victoria" facade still clearly showing backwater antecedents.
