@21najafast I'm picking the first time the gymnasts did the elements in a major competition and I'm not sure if Chen Cuiting did the tucked korbut in 1988 Olympics~ :-)
I think the piked barani has already been done before Sui lu did it at Chinese Nationals! I thought Chellsie Memmel was the first to do this skill in 2005 and Li Ya also did a piked barani in 2006 or did they do something different? because to me both skills look the same...
@KarpfenKarpfen Li Ya and Pang Panpan both didn't perform this skill successfully in Worlds. Memmel had a piked round-off without hand support named after her. For a Mem (E) you begin twisting immediately after taking off and for a piked barani (F) you must not twist before completing the salto.
Oh, I see. Thanks for explaining because to me they looked the same^^
But then Li Ya really did a piked barani but due to not performing it at worlds it isnt named after her? I suppose sui lu has to hit it at next worlds to get it named...
Well, Sui Lu has the highest scores on BB & FX for china at the moment. But unfortunatly, she only seems to perform at her best when competing at home in China, for example she was brilliant at Asian Games or Nationals. But when competing outside China she somehow loses her confidence...I hope she makes next World team because she's a wonderful gymnast^^
this was great!

@bookiewormie1 that hasn't actually been attempted at worlds, only at Chinese Nationals

I think Liu Xuan's one-armed giant is a C, not a B. Or has been devalued even more? :)

@AndromedaAiken Yes it's devalued recently.

I think Li Ya's landing was performed before she actually did it, but by a junior..

@LaVoix555 You mean her dismount? I know the Li Ya salto has been named after a French gymnast around 2000.
xlhdh 1 year ago
@xlhdh Yes, the dismount on uneven bars. Great montage by the way!
LaVoix555 1 year ago
@LaVoix555 The dismount is co-named after Li Ya and Carlotta Giovannini, while I believe Semenova is also doing it in 2006.
xlhdh 1 year ago
@xlhdh Yes I was actually thinking of Semenova's dismount in 2006
