  • Hell's gate submission hold The Undertaker style. yeah.

  • gogoplataaaaa

  • impressive gogoplata mate really well done. correct me if im wrong but it looked like you were gonna do it with the oposite leg then switched?? if so even better. i shocked myself in a match on sunday when i finished second because of a gogoplata that got me my win and a submission of the contest trophy.

  • lo mejor de todas las artes marciales y lo que me emociona es cuando se abrazan al final, con ese respeto al contrario

  • Denggg bro! NICE !!!

  • AWESOME GOGOPLATA...!!!! NICE MAN... CONGRATULATIONS..

  • ur flexible bro! u train at 10th planet?

  • god damn bro you have some long legs, I see you throwin that high guard/ crackhead control variation way the fuck up there lol. you didnt even have to zombie him, he just gave you the arm which is what the 10th planet system stresses. Great work off the ground man.

  • damn...ive been workin 4 dat move for like 2 weeks and its still shit for me... i can get into rubber guard and zombie but i never get to sink in that gogoplata, i get armbars instead... well done...one of thje hardest moves executed flawlessly...

    RESPECT

  • i really like the idea of pankration like about the tradition and all that but really it just seems like a good combat sport for guys without chins...im sure a lot of the guys do have chins but the only thing keepin this sport alive are greeks...if u wanna watch pankration in its true form just watch some of the old mma fights like late 80's early 90's era

  • but if u like grappling or combat sports in general this is fun to watch...i guess i just wish it was less restricted like it was back in the day...to all greeks keep the pankration tradition alive by continuing some of the classic kicks n locks ect but transfer to mma n rep pankration as ur discipline

  • nice finish mate!!

  • that was a pretty sick gogoplata

  • naequs, that's where you are wrong. Pankration is very much a martial arts , it's a mixed martial arts and one of the most effective mixed martial arts for both tournaments and the street.

You have a right to your own opinion, however find out more about Pankration before saying shit you know nothing about.

  • Pankration dosnt exist any more, only that in the 70's an American wrestler took roman wrestling over to Greece. Then added about 20 take down moves of an Ancient Greek painting of a broken wall.

in this video these guys are doing grappling (BJJ), which is different, if you dont know the difference between the 2.

  • Why does everybody assume that just because they grapple that it is BJJ? When in fact it could be any number of grappling styles from wrestling to Ju Jitsu (not just Brazilian Ju Jitsu)

  • @DW01

Because these days ppl go around steeling things, but they end up getting caught.

  • @asoka2000 agreed, it also one of the oldest martial arts :)

  • Actually Pankration which is a form of MMA is a very effective martial arts and unlike what witegetobro says, Pankration does allow punches to the head both when standing and on the ground. It even allows a person to elbow his opponent while on the ground.

Pankration has very little rules and involves punches, shin kicks, elbows, chokes,take-downs,throws,and submissions and alot more. I should know I have done Pankration for 7 yrs.

  • Modern sport Pankration is a little too restricted though dont you think? In most tournaments you cant punch to the head.

  • NICE MAN!

  • craaaazy

  • good

  • who wins by gogo!? sick dude!

  • pankration is no martial art, its just rules

    where almost everything is allowed

  • i'm going to join this next week is it a good martial arts?

  • pankration is a type of fighting tournament, its mma style but with no strikes to the head.

  • WHAT, thats pussy!

  • 10th planets taking over

  • wow dude, awesome ass choke.

  • nice work of rubber gaurd. thats one of my favorite moves to pull off.

  • that's the move of the undertaker

  • no...

  • It actualy is.

  • gogoplatta is a funny name

  • very tough move, i can only pull it off during training, not even when rolling

    requires timing and luck too

  • like what you see? dont be nervous! MESSAGE ME (msn)! a

  • Nice work man!

  • What are the rules? are elbows allowed?

  • Forearms are allowed, tip of the elbow are not as they can cut too easily.

  • Awesome. I can dig this.

  • great flexability, pulling ur leg over the opponents head to use it as a means to choke him out...very well done

  • the gogoplata is a wonderful thing

  • i like all your matches. Do you think the transition into gogoplata would work if your opponent was allowed to hit to the head?

    -newbie grappler in training

  • I'd say it'd work. The head of the opponent is pretty messed up, not allowing for much aim/power in the strikes. Also, your hands are free until you crank. (once you crank, even if they do strike, they're out before they could do much damage)... (but I'd watch for the flailing for sure!)

There's a variation where you sorta trap the arm first, like you're going for a chimera; might be a little mma safer.

  • Gotta love that chimera.

  • that was a good choke m8!!

  • NICE RUBBER GUARD MAN!!!

  • now i have a question, was this MMA or was it Pankration the ancient Greek Martial Art, your strikes were all straight forward like pankration but i also seen mma in it, its so hard to tell between the two. feel free to correct me lol, ive always wanted to get into mma or a martial art but never realy had the time or money, so i just settled for street fighting behind the staples lol. i was undefeated lol.

  • The tournament is called "pankration" but I study MMA. This would be considered amateur MMA, in my opinion. I don't know of any Greek Pankration schools in my area.

  • ok cool, pankration is the martial art that was actually used by alexander to conquer most of europe, its a rough ass fighting style, if you live in cali turn to the history channel, theres a the new show about martial arts around the world. yeah well see like i said its VERY hard to tell the difference because it was one of the eraliest martial arts and its believed that when greek conquered most of europe, the other martial arts took pieces of it, so thats why it looks so similar to mma, lol.

  • gastrizein is greek for stomach trick. that stomach kick.

  • The Greeks never conquered most of Europe. They had a couple of colonies in the Med - Marseilles, for instance - but their military victories were in Asia Minor and Persia. MMA and Pankration are essentially the same thing. In each, the fighter's style and moves are limited only by the rules.

  • very nice submission, very fucking nice, i love pankration, now thats a real sport. my favorite pankration move is the stomach kick, for lack of the actual term. but bravo on the win man, excellent submission, it was parculiar but like its said, in pankration the only think you can do is gouge the eyes haha.

  • your good, where are you from, cause i fight too. what are the rules?

  • impressive submission. that's a rare one to see in a fight.

  • You're telling me, I couldn't believe it worked! Haha.

  • wow man good job. awesome sub. and you were much better than him on the stand up too. you seemed relaly confident and in control at every moment.

  • Thanks! I've tried to be well-rounded in my training.

  • wow, sweet sub, excellent

  • sweet gogoplata man

  • i've never seen that choke before, well executed.

  • nice submission...I almost ended my second pankration match in rear naked choke. When I look back now though, I remember neck cranks were not allowed when I competed though, would a gogoplata be considered a neck crank?

  • Neck cranks are not allowed, but chokes are. The rule was, if you think you are in a neck crank, yell out "neck crank." If you can't yell...you aren't in a neck crank, lol.

  • HAHAHA...nice

  • neck cranking is a major move in real pankration, where the style was actually used to kill.

  • I think most pankration tourneys dont let you crank.. but you can choke, which is what he did.

  • fuck man been watching ur vids ur shit hot! looks like ur comfortable on the floor with a class guard and attacks, and decent stand up, how old r u etc? think im about ur age (19) and thought i was doing well at this age ur steaming ahead lol

  • I'm 23, been training hard for about 6 months. My flexibility has been the biggest help to playing rubber guard, I stretch every day. Thanks man!

  • holy crap, you've only been training six months? Is that only MMA or Jiujitsu? or have you trained in anything before that?

  • 6 months of MMA training. I train in muay thai, wrestling, jiu jitsu, and boxing. The only other training I've had was kid's karate when I was like 9, haha.

  • wow, not bad for six months...would like to see you what you could do after a couple of years.

  • Just got eddie Bravo's new book mastering the rubberguard. Bro, i have to start a brand new stretching regiment, I don't think I'll be a able to play rubber guard for another 6 months, til i get flexible enough. Great fight, dude. Your opponent looked good as well.

  • where can i get this book

  • I got mine from a Borders in South Florida. Make sure you get the one with the Black Cover and the color illustrations inside. He has another book w/ Black & White photos inside and it is not nearly as good.

  • nice man, that was clean. what weight are fighting at? just curious.

  • This was beginner flyweight (under 145lb). I weighed in at 134.4lb, which was surprisingly light for me.

  • ur gogo looks flawless man..gj
