  • My recollection is that Stuart and McKay did 2 albums. The first had Hey Billy and the second Full Speed Stop as the singles. I caught them twice in Townsville. The first time was as a support act to Ross Ryan. The second time was when they appeared at a local night club for an extended period.

  • Around 1977 Ken McKay came to Melbourne and worked at Brashes music store musical instruments department, for about a year. The band was already finished by then, but Ken was still doing Tamworth and writing. He had an great gift of writing and playing... any one know where he is?

  • Saw Stuart and McKay at the Sydney Town hall, around 73 or 74, when they supported Steeleye span. I had one album. I would like to hear some more of them too. I dont know what became of the album.

  • Debyok. The song is called Hey Billy & the group were Stuart & McKay. They are from Australia. Hope that helps :)

  • By the way, loved the song

  • I was in Perth, december 1973 and remember this song very well. No wonder it went to 20 in Perth. it was on high rotation on the radio.

  • I remember the song but not the artists. . . . any more info on them please?

Great song by the way. Thanks for the post.
