  • Wow, Jason Pierce is such a bubbly character

  • Nior-ish.

  • spacemen 3 are amazing. shoegaze is wank.

  • these guys played blues riffs with space rock effects. i wouldnt really say shugayz

  • Goddamn, Pete Kember does look like Anton

  • in my opinion, spacemen 3 never played shoegazer shit at all

  • These two created the greatest quality of music

  • haha these are two wild and crazy guys.

  • this is like anton meeting rich ashcroft, almost twenty years after the velvets. This us amazing!

  • im pretty sure Peter hasnt got rid of drugs. I mean he's worked with mgmt this year and i heard they took at least some mushroom teas together, but probably it wasnt the only thing they used.

  • At least Pete got rid of drugs, as it seems.

  • tomuchshoegazing fromplentyofc86

  • HEY MOTHERFUCKERS!... Ive seen SPECTRUM/ SONICBOOM 2x in 2yrs...great guy! Jason needs to get his head out his ass and REUNITE

    SPACEMEN3

  • Bull shit. Leave it in the past.

  • Totally love these guys. I have watched this interview a couple of times already, but it keeps getting better...

  • they're amazing

  • They smoking weed there?

  • LOL!!!

  • They still play, just not with one another.

  • Geniusx2

  • so glad i saw this band live - brilliant and grounbreaking - glad Pierce has recovered from his DP...

amazing to think i have all their early stuff on vinyl...

  • JP made a full recovery and is well-Thank God, now he can start recording real music again,

  • Never saw that video for hypnotize. Jason almost didn't talk.

  • answer the phone

  • They looked so alike. And interestingly, the two of them had the same birthday ...or so I've heard. I also read that Jason Pierce nearly died last year. He was hospitalized for pneumonia.

  • it was double pnuemonia

  • actually i think you'll find that it's real smoke

as sonic (pete kember) is my uncle and to this day still smokes

    so yeah

  • well, that's great for you, tell him he's way better than Jason Pierce

  • the heat they gave out was 'stunning'!

  • your id should be "toomuchshoegazing", not "tomuchshoegazing". "toomuchnotpayingattentioninschool" more like.

  • Your account name should be "asshole."

  • ahahahahahahahaha!!

  • hahahaha! toooooomuchshoegazing, lmfao!

  • your account should be named "asshole"

  • @joydivisionfactory hehe! what a dick! maybe

    "toomuchshoegazing" was taken??........probably not though

  • @joydivisionfactory maybe he meant.... here's (to much shoe gazing) ;)

  • @joydivisionfactory Perhaps you should learn learn proper grammar before correcting others.

  • @joydivisionfactory

Really, it could be a dedication. To: much shoegazing. You know, something you'd say when giving a toast

  • @joydivisionfactory it could be To: MuchShoegazing.. Like writing a letter to a lovely company called Much Shoegazing. Dear Much Shoegazing

  • such anti-stars.. the music spoke it all!

  • Yes, he´s an addict.

He is able to finance his live.

He is able to raise children and to love his wife.

Can YOU say this about your own live ?

  • drugs are not the answer, they are the question, and the answer is YES

  • @inyi im gonna have to steal that from you

  • @inyi seriously?

every artist needs a tragedy, right?

  • @inyi Drugs - used wisely and minimally - can be benefical in opening ( or closing as the case may be ) one's mind to frightful reality of everyday life . Escape too , if you will . Addiction can only bring you down , down , down . I've seen it happen to too many friends .

  • its called hypnotized

  • thanks for posting. what is the song playing throughout the video ?

  • hypnotized on recurring

  • Drugs make me a BIG MAN!

    Ketamine makes me see jesus.

And i don't even believe in the guy...

  • Poor Pete cannae get a word in edgeways!!lol

    FUCKIN SPACEMEN 3!!!

  • whos pete?

  • Great band..I saw them live..once and shame on me...incredible..tiny club in Hull everyone sat down...they had loads of equipment trouble...it got a bit arsey...then they pulled Suicide out of the bag blew the walls out

  • i love him

i go to the same school he went too

    cus i'm his niece

  • Pierce or Kember...wow transparent fornication lol

  • "purposefully enigmatic ". suck my cock.

  • i shall refrain from flaming cos i think you misunderstood the context of enigmatic.

i mean it in its pure sense, "unknown","unreadable",much like how a poker player keeps his cards to himself.

it has been corrupted into a positive descriptor of someone's personality lately,

    understand?.

  • Time to bring out the hash knives! Warming them up right now.

  • It freaks me out how much Pete Kember looks like

Anton Newcombe from the Brian Jonestown Massacre.

  • you mean how much anton newcombe looks like pete kember?

  • Heh, yeah, that's what I meant.

  • i think anton looks like the lead guitarist from the velevet underground. I dont know his name buts its the one thats not lou reed.

  • You might be thinking of Sterling Morrison.

  • you're right!

  • hey, you have the internet to search this infomation...oh fuck!

  • @tomuchshoegazing That would be the exact statement

  • i love this footage very much because it's kinda like they are being busted and the girl from fbi is making them questions

sonic boom is a sweet, since this he has continued making those very comforting and spiritual sounds and he is well known for having achieve the most astounding sweater collection in r'n'r history.

check out this video of him making let me down gently in sacramento, usa just a couple of months ago:

    watch?v=FsEjeY2NTY4

  • yeah!

  • these guys are so cool. Kember interviewed by my friend Maria once. The fact they have (independently) produced so much eternal mind-blowing material since this simple high interview is incredible. Jason is beyond.

  • which spacemen tune did elvis costello cover then??

  • Thanks for posting this video. Very Rare! Shoegazer Love...

  • Me and my friend RICK used to rock out to these guys. Still do!

  • are these guys on drugs?

  • drugs? hah! these guys are straight edge baby!

  • never heard of irony, then?

  • hes not a striaght edge he is a total drug addict.

  • Do you know anything about them? Pete(Sonic Boom) admits to using drugs. He was always interested in altered states of mind and how people perceive things during those times.

  • pfff. these guys wouldn't even touch a cigarette. all that smoke in that video that's just gas....[\]

  • ummm...this is spacemen 3 we're talking about right?...

  • are you that stupid?

  • hail the legends!!!

  • real epople. good on! and

    a come on!

  • funny guys. rad musicians

  • I loved Spacemen 3-Thanks for posting this

  • Cool interview! They're definitely one of my all time faves. I saw Sonic Boom play in NYC in the fall of 2001. He played some Spacemen 3 songs. One of my favorite live shows ever! Cheers!!

  • I always believed they never got the credit they deserved. I was turned on to them around playing with fire and heard pop sensibilities I didn't hear in their contemporaries. To mix southern gospel with punk, blues and electronica illustrates that great music is in many ways the same. Also, back in my party days, nodding at their shows was way "trippier" than the raves to come.

  • It's funny how Jason does practically none of the talking.

  • Jason is purposefully enigmatic and gives little of him self away.Damn shame, I want it all!
