Very welcome to have a listen to AirwavesJoxfields Vegetable (Elephant ) Man with Joxfields tribute-to-David-Gilmour's-ca-1971-playing guitar at 1.59. If you make a visit; hope you enjoy it! Cheers!
Was this filmed by Pathé at Brereton Country Park, Cheshire? Anyone know? i have scoured the landscape on Google Maps for that pond, but to no avail! ( well it keeps me off the streets) On July 8 1967 Pink Floyd were booked to play The Memorial Hall, Northwich, Cheshire,England. I also read that they filmed it at Marbury Country park which is closer to the venue at Northwich. Those lucky people at the Memorial Hall. Pink floyd were doing about 20 gigs a month at this point! Hullabaloo!
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I'm out of breathe and this gives me breathe at the same time!!!!!!!!!!!!!where did you find it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????? thank you thank you really! syd is lovable!! so particular! that is my kind of world! I want to go in there forever
this song, perhaps more than any other, sort of foreshadowed barrett himself didn't it? standing alone and still. unable to escape from the endless breeze as it sneakily steals the straw that made him what he is. the straw is not gone, however, as the wind is not "unkind". the straw is instead possessed by nature from which it came and eventually finds a home. syd's "straw" would and continues to spread. did bits of his straw end up in another scarecrow? is it in you?
wow all this rubbish about syd wearing is crap ..syd had a purm mid 1967 and hated it ..so his hair in this vid is probably the result of syd trying to sort it out
the leader of the city wakes festival told me that x
Syd Barrett most definitely did not wear a wig due to a receding hair line. He began losing his hair in his early thirties. It really doesn't matter he would have still been handsome
LOT of interesting stuff turning up lately - I particularly like the Arnold Layne alternate in front of a church, the b and white one from early 67
just watched Which ones Pink
documentary on classic VH1 here inthe US. sad seeing rick being interviewed. Rick RIP. If only he had recorded more solo (has anyone heard Wet Dream? is it even in print?
Really neat!! This clip is just drenched with atmosphere that would have been ruined had a soundtrack been added. What a find. Thanx for a very personal piece of Floyd.
Wow! I never thought newly discovered footage of Syd's backside sticking his scarecrow in a pond could make me feel so giddy. This is what life is all a-boot!
@dcpride76 Yes, that is indeed Syd who carried the scarecrow...the only one who touched it other than Mason at the beginning of the real video taking his hat.
Ooh, terrific. I started listening to Scarecrow while watching it and when he went "But now he's resigned to his fate," Whoever fell over. Yeah, I don't remember who it was. XP

I don't have either of those titles.
All my bootlegs are on vinyl or CD.

Syd Barrett's hair is a wig. He has a bald head under that wig. Syd Barrett was getting bald and decided to wear a wig in his early 20's.

The Scarecrow song was inspired precisely in this region...

Answering for DEACOLINE user:
this possibly was filmed on the Fenlands, a rural region in the north of Cambridge... this city is where Barrett, Gilmour and Waters came from...
