  • Lol! The Geordie accent gets me every time

  • This is awesome. I love how talking budgies sounds like mini radios or those wind-up talking toys for kids (the cow says... moooo, etc)

  • Geze. Cutest little bird in the world. I want to kiss <3

  • Look for Sparkie on Wikipedia, michael Nyman and Alva Noto a preparing an Opera about him.

  • He's so smart! And famous! i have a pet cockatiel and used to have two budgies!

And in every bird book i've read it mentions sparky williams! go sparky!

  • sparkie williams was a female budgie?

  • It was better to find him in the old museum layout. Now you have to find him on the touch screens for the ark. We bust the screens looking for him XD. Its ashame that non of his adverts are up and around =c. what funny as well as most people who have a talking animle teach them to swear but not him. He had a propper little accent going.

  • Memories. I thought my father sounded good on this! If anyone has a spare copy of the ep we would appreciate it. Been looking a long time. A cd copy would do fine.

    Thank William

  • More well spoken than most people.

  • Friend of mine is now in production with a documentary about Sparky.

  • Hi Pzk12, Thanks for the info. Wish your friend all the best. William

  • Pity that the video isnt Sparkie on film, speaking "live" so to speak.

I read up on him in The Times. Interesting story.

    Thanks for the video

  • Hi Joannamichelle, Yes it is a pity that. You can't get a live video of him anywhere...believe me I've tried. William

  • @williiamr

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there was no video. This was my great-great-aunt's bird and the family remains very proud to this day!

  • Ha, ha, this is great! I read about Sparkie on a BBC website, and this is really amazing. He does indeed sound a bit like a polite Dalek. It's wierd how he can do two accents.

  • Hi ChlarkNadia, I'm glad you are enjoying it. He was well trained. William

  • Is this for real???

  • Hi Triky, yes. This is very real. He was a Champion Talking budgerigar and can be seen at the Great North Museum Hancock in Newcastle Upon Tyne. William
