  • what is the maximum limit on this freeway?

  • I wonder how many German tourists get pulled over for speeding in the US?

  • @CaptainRon956 None, they ride bikes ;)

  • interesting. This e39 is almost at full rpm to do this. My old e34 540i at 250 is only doing 4800 rpm.

  • Good acceleration. I notice that there is little steering wheel movement even at top speed. How does the Recirculating Ball system on a 540i compare to Rack and Pinion steering on, say,530i? Is there much difference in terms of straight line 'feel'?

  • Now that's how you commute to work ! ! ! = D

  • mpg? 8?

  • @yoid9 yep, very low. My old 540 shows 30 ltrs per 100km at that speed on the straight. Just dropping back to 200 brings you down to about 14 per 100.

  • I want one... that looks like fun, and only two lanes!!

  • Uuuuuu!!! FaFaFa,,, Father Mocker! Uuups! Mother Fucker! Niiiiceee!!!

  • @fnix what happens when a Porsche comes up behind him doing 300-330?

  • ist schneller als 250 Km/h

  • Navi????

  • very good

  • wieviel sprit wohl bei diesen 2min verbraucht wurd :P

  • fast but man! my 520i is slightly slower

    shiiaaat

  • How many car accidents occur yearly on the Autobahn?

  • @sammelina12 Not that many fatalities on german streets. Compare to other european countries with speed limits (wikipedia).

    6.4 fatalities per 100.000 residents, US: 11.0 Source: census.gov

In Germany, it is three times more likely to get killed on a city street or highway than on the Autobahn.

  • @the3rddecline Yeah I know but why? You'd think that if there was no speed limit there would be more accidents. Hmm.

  • @sammelina12 I think people would be more aware of their driving. Only dumbshits would be crashing more

  • @sammelina12

People are more focused when driving fast, I guess.

  • Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Porsche... Germany HAS TO HAS Autobahns LOL

  • Driving with 250 in a good 540i on an autobahn empty like this sometimes is much safer than doing 160-170 in a 20 year old golf or a civic. I know this because I've driven cars from both types (including 2 civics and a 520 E34 and 528 E39). On a german autobahn (especially empty) 250 km/h with a car like the 540 it's not so scary and dangerous. I've done 185 km/h in a 14 year old micra 1.3 and it's not the speed itself that is disturbing but the noise and the feel that the car will come apart :D

  • Paah my BMW 740i top speed is 300km/h!

  • *gääääähn*

  • nice :)

  • sorry in Autobahn how much is limin speed?

  • @kotanidi there is no speed limit ^^ on the autobahn

  • @kotanidi Some parts have limited speed (don`t know how much, guessing about 150 or something) and some parts are unlimited, meaning you can fly.

  • @KarlisKristaps

"Some parts have limited speed (don`t know how much, guessing about 150 or something)"

150 what? Kilometers? More like 4000.

  • I have this car and i'm about to sell it and buy a e36 328i manual, a LOT more fuel efficient and more power than i even need.

Nonetheless, this is without a doubt the best car i have ever driven or owned. The V8 ROAR and the power is just simply amazing :) too bad my wallet cant handle the fuel consumption anymore :<

  • You can drive like this in USA too, but its not legal.

  • v1, rotate, take off

  • How comes German Autobahns has no speed limit? By driving at this speed we are talking about Life and Death. There has to be a certain speed limit where drivers could obey. Metaphorically speaking, if the car can do 400KMH like Bugatti Veyron, would the driver put his foot down and accelerate to the limit? We are talking about matter of seconds before the driver could lose the control. At that speed it is really difficult to conrol the vehicle.

  • @HHayalGozlumm There are many parts of the German Autobahn that have speed limits normally 120 and 130 km/h. When there is no speed limit most drivers are still smart enough to always maintain control of their car. The scarcity of supercars like a Bugatti allows most cars never pass 250 km/h. But truly it's about driver awareness. The other drivers always have to watch for upcoming cars in the left lane. But this freedom of speed results in less accidents. It should be the same way everywhere.

  • @HHayalGozlumm Plus the Germans have other rules on the autobahn that we don't have here, like rules on lane changes and other things like that. Germans can go fast on the autobahn because of how it's built, the road can only go up at a certain incline and curves have to have a big radius. The German autobahn was made for really high speeds, the US interstate isn't. The autobahn is strictly maintained for safety but Germans pay a heavy price for these things. Costs $1000+ to get a license

  • @x0th101 I got mine for 1600€ btw...^^

  • @EternalGuilty 1600 euros for this car? the seller must be an idiot

  • 1600 euros for an e39 540i? the seller must be retarded somehow...

  • sorry for double post, damn youtube comment system made me think i didn't post yet

  • if i ever had one of these for 1600euros i would buy a bunch and sell them for 5000-6000 euros profit per car and be a millionaire

  • This is how this dude goes to work every day!!!!!!

  • ı love you bavyera

  • bmw as tight as a drum...

  • hate those BMW assholes blocking the left lane @250km/h when i have to pass with Porsche gt3

  • @rottenmail ich wage es mal stark zu bezweifeln das du einen GT3 hast....

echte Porsche Fahrer reden nicht so schlecht über BMW !

  • nothing special about this car. It bores me.

  • i wanted to born at german...

  • speed like this will get u to jail over here in no time lol

  • I have one too, a drive with my bmw in brazil. Just two times i drive like this video. This is a fantastic car.

  • move on the right lane 250 kmh is not the fastest vehicle in Germany!

  • @golf1diesel nah, most cars these days are limited to 250

  • @kingofch33z3 i know that but cars like Porsche and Ferrari aren't..and i'm sure you can find even Corvettes there

  • @golf1diesel Faster than your golf :P

  • @robbie1490 and 3x more expensive at fuel not to mention car parts assurance etc..you cant compare those cars really

  • @golf1diesel Well i live in America, so it doesn't affect me much. Plus i drive a 330ci so i still get 30-32 mpg. I like golfs though, if i had enough money i'd buy a 335d so i could save some money.

  • @golf1diesel why should he move to the right lane? right. 250 is not the fastest one but if you find a car on the same autobahn, that overtakes you at this speed, you have to be very lucky

  • @MrKIKEJI The majority of Porsches can go faster than 250 kmh,all derestricted Bmw Ms and Amgs can pass it either,Ferraris,600,750cc+ bikes can also surpass 250 kmh..etcetera

  • @golf1diesel never denied that. but it will take a long time to find a ferrari or porsche on the autobahn when you drive at that speed. a porsche is 50 km/h faster so it won't catch up so fast

  • @MrKIKEJI But the whole reason of safety on the autobahn is built on how people drive on it and how they're taught. He should be going into the right lane after passing. The left lane is for passing only...pretty sure its a law on the autobahn

  • @trikdoutcobalt not if you're going this fast

  • @golf1diesel yeah or just remove the limiter and go 270-280km/h and maybe then you are "eligible" to go on the left lane ;]

  • @golf1diesel no stay in the left the way you did, at least at those speeds. The likelyhood of someone coming faster from behind at that velocity is extremely low. Weaving in and out at very high speed is extremely dangerous. If something comes from behind at more than 250 give way. Rechstfahrgebot does not apply when the delta between vehicles on the right is substantial to overtakling vehicles on the left. Doing that is merely being religious and subsequently very dangerous.

  • @golf1diesel is sure faster then your golf 1 ;))

  • @noroc24 only a "pure" romanian could be a dumbass like yourself...there are golf mk1 diesels faster then a bmw v8..and i have a Golf mk 3 for your information

  • @golf1diesel I am happy for you and your mk3. I had mk2 i had mk3 i have mk4 and are very reliable cars, and SOME of them fast. That is not the point. If u had a fast car you wouldn`t make crap comments like mover over at 250 km/h. Of course are faster cars then this Bmw but I was only being ironic but again....not all people can understand IRONY. YES I AM ROMANIAN AND FUCKING PROUD OF IT...but i can not say the same thing about you my friend ;)

  • @noroc24 sure mate crap comment that's why my comment is top with so many thumbs up,thing is why not use the other lane if you can? a car like that should be stable enough at thpse speeds since it's beeing designed for them

  • @golf1diesel TOP? at what video are you looking my friend?

  • @golf1diesel ur a dumbass ha ha how can a mk1 golf be faster than a 4.4 v8 beamer ur mad son go to bed and keep dreaming

  • thats why all germans drive nice new bmws if they do this to every car no wonder the own new cars they reem the piss out of the old ones on the autobahn at 155 mph

  • I wanna go to Germany just for this reason... To bad in Florida most of the highways are limited to 55 and its mostly populated by cubans and they can't drive for shit!!!

  • @metalwar31 bullshit dude.. Ive drove FL millions of times, the speed limit is 70 MPh on most Interstate highways.

  • WAS FÜR MENSCHEN FAHREN EIGENTLICH BMW

    OMG

    GERMAN LOSER HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

  • For some reason I was thinking 540 c.i. Hemi V8, then I saw the video description.

  • Verbrauch im Video? :D

  • you'll be squashed if you crash at that speed

  • ich mag den tacho :D

  • I want an BMW 530i that is 5 years old , and has 130.000 km on it. but my father wants a new Chevrollet Cruze 2011. So i guess i wont be riding in BMW till i get a job.

  • fein, ging wohl eher an die 260 ran, schoenes video...

  • nice thing to look down at the speedometer and see it's maxed. here in the U.S. i wish i could do that just once. too bad most cars are limited.

  • again my next holiday is in germany, the frendliest place on the WORLD ;D. i could do that all day long. Just no other word it. Speed.

  • How are they able to maintain such a smooth stretch of road for thousands of miles???

  • @mavmach3 Well, that's German engineering for ya!!! LOL!! :)

  • @mavmach3 because the basis for a German highway is at least 75cm of concrete, wheras in the US its only 30 cm.Its quite difficult to make a new highway in Germany and to maintanance it is too, therefore its built to last and the absence of a speed limit demands a pool table like surface too.I´m not saying that it is like that everywhere, but they are trying to say the least.

  • Eating kilometers

    and sucking some fuel;)

  • welche autobahn is dit?

  • Man, why can't the US have this?

  • watch the speedometer.

  • jebany...

  • sau gudd!

  • WOHOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • that kind of videos I like, no shitty music, yust pure sound of engine reving and accelaration!! Thank you!

  • @mazikaka Was thinking the same thing bro

  • to popi kišu !!

  • SEMPRE COM OS MEDIOS ACESSOS CLARO.

DAR UMA PRESENCIA DE CONDUÇAO SEGURA.

  • Do that shit in Wisconsin you get shot tazzed, arrested and charged with reckless endangerment Witch is round $800 and court costs, Land of the free? Doubtful.

  • @steve6689 The roads here aren't maintained like the autobahn. That stretch of road is meticulously monitored. The whole autobahn isn't unrestricted.

...then there is the whole LOL @ Wisconsin part. Nothing like hitting a cow at 250 km/h. Good luck.

  • A92?

  • das ist mindesten 260-265 km/h !!!!!

  • Looks flat. By chance was this in northern germany (niedersachsen or brandenberg)?

  • This brings back fond memories..

  • Such grace.

  • Germany, openly torturing and murdering,is a disgrace to humanity.See the generation born between 1930 and 1945.Most of them grew up with the"knowledge"to be the Masterrace, have the right to live at the expence of others. When they had to begin working in the 1950s,Germany started importing foreign workers, allowing them to stay the masterrace. They silenced the generation of their parents about ww2 crimes and persecuted the generation of their children into complete servitude to their state.

  • I want to come on Germany for test my Audi A4 top speed!

  • coza asy!

  • Damn, makes me miss my old 740 il

  • doesnt look that fast

  • @alexhamster1134 it isnt that fast.

    He reach only 170 km/h.

    Dont forget V = s/t

  • @alexhamster1134

Becaue all cars go above 200km/h. ;)

  • @gyurxi551 at that speed theres an accident waiting to happen...

  • @alexhamster1134

There is an intresting statistics that Germany has less accident without speedlimit than USA with limit. In the USA is 55mph (88km/h) and you are fall asleep. When you drive in Germany as I did it is exciting, speedy and you are watching for everything. Not to mention that crashin with 88km/h or with 130km/h has almost the same fatality.

  • @gyurxi551 Thank you for saying that, it's obvious the faster you are the more attentive you are. It's ususally a given fact.

  • @gyurxi551 ive driven on the autobahns. theyre mostly 2 lanes. slow lane is full of lorries (trucks to you yanks). i dont feel comfortable going at 100mph+ past lorries (trucks to you yanks) which are known to pull out to overtake each other. german lorries are limited to 56mph, trucks from third world european countries such as poland, hungary, czech etc probably dont have their limiters on since they are lawless states, and will more likely try to overtake the german trucks.

  • @alexhamster1134

I see, but what did you want to say? :) I agree driving/riding after lorries is shit. Anyway I'm a motorbiker. :) Hungary has now a serious penalty to fast drivers some cases it could be €1000. It is for lorries too. Lorries avoid to drive saturday and sunday. If you go outside city, speed limit is 90kmh. Driving with 105 is €100 penalty.

  • @gyurxi551 would you like to tell me how to slow down 2tonnes of metal from 100mph+ to 50mph in the time a truck pulls out in front of you? very dangerous. so all this talk about no limits etc, is only for show offs who know fuck all about driving safely, and should be all given the darwin award instead.

  • @alexhamster1134

Ok, stats see the Germany has less accindent than USA or Hungary in realtive to population.

  • @gyurxi551 i forgot to mention to your reply about 55mph and 100+mph having the same fatality, yes if ur crashing into a stationary object. on a highway there are no stationary objects, all cars a moving relative to one another, my point is moving at a relative speed of 50mph towards a group of trucks who "might" pull out is more dangeours than if ur going say 70mph.

  • @alexhamster1134 that's why germans have decent cars which can stop fairly quick and in most places you usually have either three lanes or it is forbidden for the trucks to go in the second lane (first lane only). or if the trucks can drive in the second lane, nobody drives at 150mph, because the conditions are not ok. i've crossed germany from north to south on the autobahn and I can say it's really safe driving there, even at such speeds, because everybody is paying attention.

  • Probably because people in Germany grow up with high speed cars flashing by on the road and USA people are definitely not... In the Netherlands we have even a lower statistic fatalities in automobile traffic... And most people here are even overspeeding like they just don't care about the speeding tickets.. ;)

USA is too much standardized, people don't even think anymore.. Let people face dangers and threads... And they will be more alert for them... ;)

  • @underverser agreed. Chaos increase safety. Search youtube for "All Directions Green (ADG) Groningen, The Netherlands" video. :)

  • @gyurxi551 what the hell are you talking about? In the USA the speed limit varies from state to state but 90% is 80 MPH on highway.. NOT 55!

  • @Nerdcoreification Incorrect unless Utah and 11 counties in Texas counts for 90%.

  • @sketchers356 there is 0 interstate highways with 55 MPH speed limit sir. except for worksites or inside a City

  • @Nerdcoreification Okay sorry, so speedlimit varies but present, and that is the point.

  • @gyurxi551 limit in US is 112kph in some states, and 105kph in most others. German drivers are much more educated in driving than US citizens.

  • @fragzem If we speak about education, main broblem is that in USA you can buy 1liter benzin for ~$0.76. Here in Europe 1L benzin is $1.89!! And USA and Arabic countries dont spare with benzin and only these countries can you buy 3000-4000ccm engined cars. :S I have a friend near Richmond and he doest care that his car eats 15-17liter/100km. :-O

  • @gyurxi551

    It's just about freedom.

USA is often great when talking about freedom but they heavily lack in giving it.

  • @TheFuckthisshit And money. Speed limits are a revenue generation for the pigs and their radar guns. G. Celente once said, you drive 5mph over limit there's a cop waiting just for you. But some can steal billions and get bonuses. That's how the two tiered justice system works.

  • @TheFuckthisshit sorry to say, but u.s.a is a very hypocrate country!

  • @TheFuckthisshit it's about safety dummy. Let there be no speed limit here and see how many more people die. P.S. in Germany they decide for you what you occupation you will do when you are in school. That's not exactly freedom-y is it?

  • @TheFuckthisshit it's also about responsibility. The driver isn't 18.

  • @TheFuckthisshit if there were unrestricted speed limit roads in the US, people would die on them by the hundreds daily. a good 80% of Americans can't drive safely. they just can't.

  • @gyurxi551 yeah, you're right..As in Slovakia, where i live is speed limit 130km/h & more accidents..

  • @gyurxi551 55mph? OMG Mr.Obama I have to cancel my Green Card application!!!

  • @gyurxi551

    For me its true

The 3 times i though "wow that was close - could have gone really wrong" were in a speed limit when i got tired because it is so damn boring.

If i drive at 180-220 (really dont like it faster - too exausting for me) im actually very concentrated and try to drive as save as possible. If you swim in the flow for 2h and you cant go faster its really exhausting imho.

  • hah did you see the mini van doin like 120 mph haha. now thats what i call an extreme family man

  • can you remove the limiter ? as im looking at buying a e39 540i 6 speed manual and i think it would do 170mph easy

  • gotta love no speed limit ahhh

  • Nice one!

  • M-Sportfahrwerk ?

  • bäh,ne automatikschaltung ist was für ältere herren mit gewissen gebrechen.

  • @aga060 true but stick shift is hard to drive

  • @jason854656 yeah, it's hard for noobs :D

When it's the only thing you've ever driven (as it is for most Europeans) it doesn't feel hard.

  • @Overdrive872 i get stuck on stupid hills, i drive perfectly with stick everywhere but then if a stop light grabs me at a hill i get stuck. other than that manual is definitely much better than auto

  • ich weis bei solchen autos redet man nicht über verbrauch^^ aber mit was muss man bei so nem auto rechnen im kombinierten verbrauch?

  • Anazing video!!! Amazing car!!!

  • danke schön!!!! gut zehr gut her maister!!!

  • When this baby hits 350 km/h you're gonna see some serious shit.

  • Boring.. get a gearshifted bmw ;)

  • you make it look so easy lolz

  • momentanverbrauch schmerzt mir im herzen

  • Use two hands dude !!!

  • .....Fick auf BMW ,weil ich einen BENZ Fahr !!!!!

  • @ARMENIEN65 NEIN! BMW ist besser!

  • @ARMENIEN65 benz sidn geil * hust was der kann kann unser benz längst ( cls 63 AMG sp-edition max speed 340 :D )

  • that bmw hauls ass!!!

  • the bad think is the automatic transmition...with the manual you actually are completely "connected" with the car itself...

  • My 540i is just like this! :D

  • Automatic? xD

  • thats impressive

  • Oh nice BMW what kind of car?

  • ein rechtsfahrgebot gibts bei 250 also nicht mehr? ;)

  • @maenuuu wahrscheinlich taut sich im rückspiegel schon alles xD

  • @maenuuu Englische Sprache wohl auchnicht..

  • i want to have autobahn in slovenija like your's in deutschland!=)))

  • !!!Das ist mein Video der Woche ::::-) !!!

  • Bei uns zählt immernoch das Rechtsfahrgebot...

  • Klasse Video !

  • suPergUt

  • It's got a good sound to it. Must be fun to lay the hammer down much more aggressively and know it's still legal. Guess I'll just have to enter a few open road races here in the USA. Sand Hills Open Road Challenge here I come.

  • Bitte nächstes mal das Rechtsfahrgebot beachten - und nicht die linke Spur blockieren!
