Well, it seems that climate change isn't as severe as once thought. They had me going, what with their "facts" and "data."
However, there are still the issues of air-pollution, water-pollution, soil contamination, deforestation, farming run off, acid rain and desertification.
Plus there is racial and religious tension in the middle-east, severe air pollution in China and India, and dozens of species dying of every year.
So if we as humans haven't changed our ways (meaning we haven't come up with any useful alternative to the pollution: not enough "green" cars, factories still pollute just as bad as they have, and people still drive as much as ever), then what caused the cap to grow? Kinda shows how little we know about our planet and how little effect we really have on it.
the effects could be as simple as the change in weather patterens or could effect entire ecosystems, the truth is these things havnt been recorded for long in comparison to our earth's hystory, theres simply no guessing the outcome
the ice is obviously expanding at a dramatic rate so thinking about this, if the northern ice cap is melting and the southern cap is growing wouldn't that change the flow of the ocean currents beneath the sea?, i mean lets think about it over 70% of our world is covered by sea which heats and cools at the equator and poles, most scientests will tell you that cold water is heavier when it reaches a certain temporature which travels then along the sea floor in major currents in the deep seas
Actually it has everything to do with politics because we need to stop the global warming denialists who want to continue ruining our environment by drilling for oil everywhere when the main goal should be to switch to alternative clean renewable sources of energy. Wake up america. Oil is NOT THE ANSWER neither is "scary" Nuclear and "Dirty" Coal

If our oil supply got cut off for three months half the world would starve, WWIII would break out and society would collapse back to a feudal state.
