  • video sux but i love this song! Heading4 the 90's- ya I remember when the 90's sounded like the future......I dare anyone2 listen2 tgis song & not want2 dance!!

  • I've got wood

  • I finally remebered this song!

  • o_O

  • Will Smith did a shit job of covering this song...

  • @teamtrox67 uh he didn't cover it....

  • @Lottech96 - Wow...you must have a "wet" sense of humor then...

  • I thought I had seen this before it was in the short stack movie because of Trevor Steele

  • loved it for many many years.. still do

  • All I remember is that my friend made me go to a strip joint and they were playing this song as the women were "dancing".

  • @jbranstetter04 haha oh your friend made you go.......

  • Holy Cow-that guy is so freakin hot!!!

  • it was number 1 in the US but i think its totally unknown in europe...

  • those floating arms are so freaky!

  • Does that drummer look excessively **BORED** through the whole video, or is it just me??

  • is this a remake of 'Pump in up' by elvis costello?

  • wtf is up with the US flag in the video? These guys are from England.

  • @Youcanonacanon The song is about America, so the flags are pretty relevant.

  • Love the song but the video is the worst one I have ever seen.

  • I have to say, the lead singer is one of the least gay looking people in a band in the 1980's.

  • Funny how the bassline is busier than both guitars put together

  • The day this song went # 1 in the US this band was playing Sweet Springs Saloon a bar that boasted to be the biggest, littlest rock club in the US. Maybe legally held 40 to 50 patrons. The day started calmly enough but by show time it was a mad house. Could you imagine their managers indignity having to let the band play a venue that small on that day. Limos up the yin yang and only local bar bouncers to police the crowd. Fortunately everything went off with out a hitch. Only in America.

  • @Insight200801 haha yeah we couldn't hear a thing cause of the screaming, Happy Days!

  • 80's hit.

  • @emericanwonder007 "Ronny's got a new gun' Reagan "I love her eyes and wild wild hair" Thatcher

  • I work alone. I don't play alone, and that was no partner.

Listen to you, you fuckup.. "yeas! YES!"

A fuckin CLOWN like your 2 predeccesors and that inbred retard in the Privy birdcage press club...

    oooh...such a "temper", Pentagon Daves...

  • I swear, I had this album on wax, when I was like 11, also had Dr Feelgood and a few others. (plus a shitoad of six inch record+story book combos, truly awesome)

  • ronnie's got a new gun........cold war song?

  • Go Lucy's Tavern

  • Spoony his cover is way better =P

  • OH YEAH!!!!!!! LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!! Spent many night dancing to this at Shooter 2 in Raleigh near NC State University!!!!

  • its funny trevor is one of the guys who discoverd short stack

  • looking at the clip now i reckon the lead singer looks like that dude out of the Aussie tv series "Neighbours" i think the guy in Neighbours is called Lucas but he doesnt have long hair like the escape club dude but the same sort of face how trippy hey lol

  • I loved this video as a kid, those floating arms with the mirror trick were the coolest back then!

  • @harryfromwork i only liked the one at 1:53

  • @harryfromwork just curious how old were you then? cause i wondered why my nephew loved it so much at the age of "5"...who has passed...

  • @dhorton51 I was about 12 or 13, just starting listening to music really.

  • ok, simple question that has been bugging me since i 1st saw the video 20 yrs ago: who sings/talks the bridge? guitar player or bass player?? (both shown in the video singing/talking it). which one. from the sound of the bass players voice when he is speaking in the beginning, I am guessing the guitarist (or someone else) did it (and they just acted). Anyone have the liner notes from the album? thanks. (p.s. the 'bridge' is the Spanish/tongue roll part with, "this ones called the outlaw")

  • Sorry JohnnyHammer10, you are right that Trevor is an epic win but it was actually "Escape Club Forever!".

  • I used to love watching this video on MTV and VH1.

  • They certainly went all out with the film clip.

  • song came out when I was in the 3rd grade !

  • !reverof bulC epacsE!

  • si creara mas canciones como esta le daria lo q me pidiera creo q es su unica cancion exito y no tiene mas asi d buenas???

  • "I don't care as longs as she comes(cums) tonight" - HAHA! I love it!

  • I love the knees, they are a great place to grab :)

  • Pump up the thumbs alright. Oddly enough this song always seemed to be a rip off of Elvis Costello's Pump it up. Definitely an icon of the 80's though.

  • Remember this was No 1 for weeks in Australia when I was there in 1988. When I got back to UK after 12 months couldn't believe it never charted here. I was saying what about that great song Wild Wild West and nobody had a clue what I was talking about. Got all three of their albums. Great band, would love to see them live.

  • Ironically enough, at exactly the same time this song was out, Kool Moe Dee also had a song named "Wild Wild West".

  • @philaman1972 How is this Ironic?

  • This was the first album someone gave to me. I remember moving from New Jersey out to Colorado and for some reason I listened to this album from start to finish a few times through, all the way there on my Walk-Man haha

  • For anyone out there who loves I'll be There and The Escape Club they've got a new song on You Tube which is amazing called '80's Love Song - it's amazing!

  • Song is about living in the West End of London.

  • I remember being 9 years old, and my aunt would blare this song while I would be riding in her old Mustang...good times

  • No it didn't chart in the UK because at that time to have a hit in the UK radio 1 had to play your record, they were quite happy to phone us up at 5 am in the morning when we were touring the US and say, Wow! isn't it great your number 1 in the states, but still wouldn't play our records........Strange!

  • Lol... I always make my husband dance with me when they play this song at clubs Wild Wild West. :) <3333

  • great song....

  • I bemember the floatin' arms and leggs, kinda kreepee...

  • Ia it funny that they came from UK and they use the American Flag.

  • hit #1 in the US. Wasn't as popular in the UK, Did it chart there? God bless!

  • ive always loved this song i just checked out U2's version its horrible, and makes me feel wierd

  • Knew fav song

  • This is such a great song =)

  • Pauly Shore

  • this song was popular during the Yellowstone wild fires of the late 80's. The fires were so bad they called the ARMY and Marines.

  • The group has reunited for a new album, expected to be released in 2010, and actively provide updates on their band's Facebook page. The previously disbanded in 1992.

  • the singer looks like my ex-husband

  • I brainwashed my friends with this. Now it's like the whole schools theme song :)

  • Also, I think it would be doubly cheesy and awesome if they sung, "the wild, wild East."

  • Damn this was fun to barn dance to back when!

  • I wish youtube had a way to skip ahead to when the music video actually starts, at 0:54 seconds.

  • i take bak everytrhing i was about to txt comment u cheers dude

  • I met Trevor last month <33

  • Long live the eighties!

  • OMG, I love this song. It was the rage for about 6 months on KROQ in LA and the clubs. Fun tune!

  • Nice song! Trippy video.

  • my dad worked at tweetsie railroad in greensboro nc in 1988 to 1989. the cowboys all made a music video in accordance with this song. if anyone has seen that vid please comment back

  • i love these guys cant help it they did have a couple a fun tracks between the 2 records

  • Wow this song was freaking HUGE back in the day...and then nuthin. Crazy...

Same thing with "Life is a Highway" Man, I'm old as hell LOL

  • I had this tape... I played it endlessly, lol

  • Their was a parody of this song, it was about batman using this song as the template for that song (sort of like the american pie song had a star wars parody version to it) I cant seem to find it tho on youtube if it has yet to be uploaded. If anyone knows where on youtube i can find this songs parody for batman could you plz tell me

  • I thought both the song & video were so good. But I wondered what happened?

I remember seeing it and hearing it on the radio for maybe a few months and then puff!! it disappeared into la la land.

  • I haven't seen this video since I was 10. & I learned that that camera trick probably uses a concave mirror (or lens or whatever). I learned to mimic the floating arms using the concave part of a grand piano.

  • These guys remind me of the Levellers.

  • every junior high dance,baby

  • 1988: yes memories.. I remember MTV would bleep "sex" in this song on tv! wow..we come a long way?? pump up the thumbs!!

  • I'm guessing they left the 200 innuendos in :P .

  • @AmyJ808 i think ur sooo right.......it seems mtv was so innocent....now its trash tv lol. its all about the women, sex and money. not to diss that. mtv is bad... but yeah mtv has come a long way 4 sure

  • ahhhhhhh, memories.

  • i remeber this song from for ever ago!

  • i love the cowbell!!! "it needs more cowbell"

  • I have a question, Did anyone else get the urge to do the Electric Slide when they heard this song??? Just curious

  • I must agree with GothGaara92 and his comment regarding WMG. They are nothing but corporate lice who only want more and more of the Yankee Greenback Dollar in their company coffers. To WMG it is every man for himself and the Devil take the hindmost. Good old Yankee Capitalist avarice, there is nothing else like it on Mother Earth.

  • this is the only vid that has the actual song

    FUCK YOU WMG!!!!!!

  • dammit man, I had to download some sound editing ware cut out the entire annoying beginning where they talk and then resave all cause you thought it was a good idea, how do you expect people like me to completely abuse this site for personal gain when you make it so hard?!

  • whers the fuken video

  • I had no idea what safe sex was when I was 7/8 but I loved to sing this song anyway :P .

  • i like the lead singer, wish they would get back together... love their music...

  • Aaaahh this song brings back fond memories of the Barn Dance routine at Charlies country and western bar in Chicago! Great to get two massive circles going and switching partners throughout this song!!

  • I´ve heard about that part when they speak some rare words, they are saying diferents names of food. Do anybody knows the exact lyrics of this part?

    Prrrrr y comemos .......... choriza,en.....

    etc....!!!

    dont understand????!!!!!

  • Sooooooooooooo COOL!

  • When I first heard this song, I couldn't find the album anywhere. I lived in Delaware and this group was unheard of. My aunt from Hollywood had to mail me the album. I miss good finds like this one.

  • i dated a few girls that would get horny listening to this. ...thank you . thank you

  • miss these days of good music videos with fun eye candy

  • They are alive and well, and just finishing up they're new album, the first for 15 years..

  • Are you taking the piss??

  • Nope.

  • ahh great to hear that, grew up watching this video havnt heard any of their others

  • what ever happened to this group?

  • How they doing?D.J.Hide and Ted at the works.I just remind them,eh

  • oh the memories of being about 5 years old =)

  • Lol In Elemeantry school we used to do this dance xD, But we didnt play the bad part :P

  • How did they do that optical effect with the arms & legs?

  • I think it's wonderful when we have a video from 20+ years ago with effects so basic and generally no longer used that it just doesn't occur to us now exactly how they did that.

It's just one arm/leg with a mirror making it appear to be a pair.

My favorite line is "Heading for the nineties Living in the wild wild west" which really dates the song now.

  • it's called a mirror

  • these lads might be english but they sound american

  • This would be a great song for a stripper to dance to on the job.

  • It was! When I came of age back in the late 80s and I went to a few strip clubs, there were hot girls dancing to this song wearing only a cowgirl hat, high heels and a big smile :)

  • @Lalo3001 Amusing. ;)

  • @Lalo3001 that's what I call coming of age!

  • @Lalo3001 a vertical smile? ;)

  • pump it up!!

  • Great tune. What year was this single released?

  • 1988

  • This song was released back in 1988. I remember out in California when working and out for the evening to relax. Guys I was working with went into a dance club and ALL the hot girls coming over to use to dance with them. What a night.

  • you are so right ! i played this for all my girlfriends. they loved it.

  • the other songs in their album were equally great. one of the most under-rated pop groups at that time...

  • Saw them along with 10 other people at the Princess Charlotte Leicester in the late 80s

  • wild west!! bangggggg la wea mala xD

  • I was 10 when this song came out, I loved it, and the video is awesome with the arms and legs. Me and my sister used to roller sk8 to this like every Sat. morning, good times.

  • I love this song so much. The reason I searched for this is because I just found the 45. In pristine condition. Thank you for posting this song....Wild Wild Hair!!

  • These guys really had some staying power, eh?

  • i like them

  • Wow. I loved this song as a kid and I still love it today. However, having finally watched this video for the first time, it makes me cringe a bit. Yikes. Brings back awesome memories anyway. Rock on 1988.

  • man, compare escape club's version of the wild wild west to kool moe dee's version and tell me who's the best.

  • whoa...they slipped in some naughty language in there.

  • I love this song, i usta rock out in my mom's car with this cassette tape!! I wore that out so fast, lol :) Good times, great memories, even better music!!!

  • kool moe dee's version is better damnit!!!

  • HELLO! They are two different songs.

  • NO! The would is Shew! (Believe it or not - I do know how to type and spell!!!!

I am South African this a word that expreses shock you say "Shew"!

  • shew, you learn something everyday.

  • Who's the lead singer ?

  • Trevor Steel

  • Cool video.

  • Wow! The Bees really lifted from this band quite heavily....

  • when I was in 5th grade this was my favorite song.

  • i totaly L-O-V-E-LOVE this song and i'm even only 13 wow rite!! i can never get this song out of my head it is ABSOULUTLY my favorite song in the WORLD!!!!!!!

  • Fabulous! Hot sexy men singing my favorite song!

  • I wish this was the long version! , I heard it on the radio last week and it was just awesome

  • I love this song....thanks pal^^

  • I DJ'ed during this time and that song got Everyone up! I still love it!

  • You know how a video can ruin a great song? I realize that they probably had a miniscule budget, but why would someone think disembodied limbs are a good idea for this video?

Anyway, can someone tell me what they are saying between 3:30 - 3:52? I love this part, I just wish I could understand more than 5 words....

  • The video was the thing that broke this song, MTV was in its heyday and they played it like eight times a day.

  • Brrrrrrring forth our voices like this cuz our people i've been waiting for, this ones called the outlaw, wow, say won't you act like a raegaen like you're riding a bike, shine on me, my raegaeshata when they shut in the night, so if u keep them rocking til the broad day light i give them the escape club to rock it so right !!!

  • Whoa! Where did you get these lyrics and what is a raegaen and a raegaeshata? I am mucho impressed!

  • Nice try underdode, but it is

Brrrrrrrrrrr here come this musical disc some people have been waiting for, this ones called the outlaw, wow say about me, ride a rythem like your riding a bike, jah no me, murder me chatter when me chat on the mike, sure this willl keep you rockin to the broad daylight, and here come this escape club to rock it so right!!!

  • look up there ^

  • i liked "working for the fatman" and "shake for the sheik'.i saw lead singer on australia tv as a judge and he is some record executive.
