It is better to practice with tennis balls. You will get through more balls if someone throws them down at you. Your technique looks good and you should look to adapt your drive to play it on the leg side and the lofted drive is good to push the field back
There are many shots you hit which show a top batsmen but you miss a lot of balls or miss time work on your consistency and you could be a useful batsmen
There are many shots you hit which show that you are a top batsmen but you miss a lot of balls or miss time them if you could be more consistent you could convert yourself into a middle order player
hey mate. first thing i picked up on is that when the ball is delivered, your movement cary everytime (from the bobbing up and down) try stay still and keep a straight head and no bobbing when you the bowler is running in. I use to do exactly what you did. but changed it for the better.
sometimes your hands are to far away from your body... so sometimes a straight shot that you can play up the ground your are actually playing around the ball.... i had the same problem than a coach from Australia told me the right way and it works...watch big players and when they bat everything is close together
what i would consider for a batsman like you is trigger movement, as you back foot is fine but if you look at the back and across trigger movement for seam bowling you will find this more easier to play shots on both front and back foot, and for spin take a little step forward and try not to have such a high backlift. you will find this alot easier when you have got it cracked as i have the same problem.
@willtuck1995 Cheers for you feedback mate, I ve tried the trigger movement before, stood around a foot outside leg stump. it helped a bit but I only did it for a couple bowls. I should make it a permanent movement.
i wish i had tailenders like u in my team, instead of being 6 for 340 and being bowled for out for for 350 we could break that 400 mark. If you had some half decent training you could push yourself into the lower order not the tail.
hey. One of the main problems with ur batting is that ur back leg is bending to much and this is putting all of ur weight on ur backleg instead of transfering it to ur frontleg and this is y u r missing them and hitting them in the air. what u need to do is keep ur backleg straight and try to stand as tall as possible when striking the ball. I hope this helps u, and good luck
basically you played some nice shots but when you are driving you need to bend your front leg put all your weight into the shot so your shots wont go in the air and also when balls are just outside your off stump just leave them because playing them will lead to outside edges and remember play straight.
@hugh127 Balistic bat are are fantastic but it comes down to personal preference when you buy a bat. Make sure you buy a bat that you feel comfortable with, pickup, weight etc.
Hey your not that bad for a tailender but here are a few tips....
1.Your doing to much with your wrists and hands meaning your bat ends up going out to the side and your not hitting the ball the whole of the blade. try and make it so you could rest your bat on the middle stump then just go through the ball with the bat in the same shape.
I have a few suggestions. Wait for the ball more, you are pushing too far in front of your front leg which is why you're not timing the ball so well. Also, it's really important to keep your RIGHT elbow tucked into your body, the moment you push it out to the offside, the bat doesn't come down straight and you'll slice your drives. Try it in the nets next time, you'll be amazed how much straighter you hit and you won't be late on the ball....small levers and all that
i think ur using ur bottom hand a lot..when u drive..make sure u transfer ur body weight towards the ball and try to time ur shot well..when u drive..try freeing ur arms more..let it flow..and ur left elbow need to be in line with ur bat when u drive
u try to hit it to hard on some shots, just try and time it, and your a tailender, wat number, because with a bit of practice if you arent a number 9 or 8 u could be come one
From what I can tell you have a bit too much wrists and not enough front elbow, focus on pushing that elbow up and through the shot - it will help you with the angle of the bat and keeping the ball a bit lower.
Obviously with such a high and timely backlift you will find it hard to time the ball outside off shown in 1:13. You look pretty solid but you have one major obvious flaw you don't keep your head over the ball as shown in 1:50 because it is behind your front knee and not over the ball you can't keep the ball on the ground and you play ahead of yourself You have some great back foot shots but try not to flick balls on your stumps and play straight. Wait for that half volley on off to go on one k
@Rasterius im an opening batsman but i have alot of trouble flicking off my legs. anything else is fine. my cover drive is my best shot. can you help? :)
@narungga Flicking off the legs isn't the ideal way to go about hitting balls on or outisde leg stump. Look to hit the ball around mid-on, but whatever you do don't play across the line. Get someone to underarm balls on leg and practice hitting them through midwicket and mid-on.
@Rasterius how exactly do i do this? do i need to move my front leg across more so im almost playing a cover drive through mid on? i fell as though im going to play it in the air alot too...
is this your own net if it's than how much you bought it

Your shoes is very good ......is it for cricket only ?
You have got such a good footwalk and your body movement .
Superb square cut ..superb on side play or drive . You seems like a middle order superbatsman like Ponting .
