A temperamental system. If you can log on with it at all, it takes so long it's quicker to type a password anyway. Plus the webcam can't detect 3d so could easily be fooled by a photo of you. The technology just hasn't advanced enough to allow implementation of this feature.

This works for me sometimes, normally only at night, though. At least it comes with the laptop unlike Dell who makes you pay $25 for it.

Guys don't be so silly, i had this crap on my Asus and this shit never ever detected my face, not even once. i tried alot, took alot of pictures but it still wound't recognize me so.... i eventually ended up deleting it.....its useless guys trust me !!!!

sorry might, this particular biometric security comes with Asus laptops because they have the built-in webcam.

You might be able to get it from an Asus mobo, but don't bet too much.

I have M50-Sv and I use Smart Logon sometimes..its really cool the only thing u should do is to save as many pictures of yourself as u can....to avoid delays and wrong recognition but overall its pretty nice feature :)

Yeah...I've had the laptop almost 3 months now =p

But for anyone who had the same question as me- It works decently fast, but I could definitely type in my password (8 chars) probably two or three times within the time that it takes the machine to recognize me.

I noticed you have to get a little close to the camera as it won't recogise your face from a distance.

Is there a way to use fingerprint scanner to lgon into email and facebook? I had SSO on but it was really annoying as it kept asking for confirmation so I switched it off

@lebambi you do realize that taking a picture of the person and putting that up to the camera works. i did it with my friend and his laptop, using my samsung captivate. have fun hacking!
