hey ive got a peavey mark iii and it only works with the guitar turned down to almost no volume then when you turn the guitar up it cuts out does anyone know wat that is?
Wow!There isnt much to this thing..I just repaired one a few weeks ago but It was a dsl series I thought it was an MG.What a difference in components..That dsl is an awesome amp..I know it had the british flag on the back. All I had to do was replace the preamp tubes and bias it.I got a Fender Strat for the job..Yeay!
I recently took the boards out of a valvestate to replace caps and had to remove all the knobs etc just like this one.... at some point in its life someone superglued one of the knobs on to the plastic shaft... had to break the damn thing off....
I had so many amplifiers come in with loose solder contacts, where the jacks had cables hooked in and they either got hit, or were just bad soldering. The most common problem of amps that people bring me is this loose jack.
got the mg 100, good amp, its given me no problems yet and i had it for almost 2 years. As much as i liked that amp i still had to move up to the 60 watt Fender DeVille tho :P Now that a sweat amp! Love it so much the Marshall sadly, never gets played anymore.
My 2 cents is that when you took the cover off and started trouble shooting the dust or what ever it was became free that was causing the problem....even if it does work now still throw it away...LOL
maybe the owner just had a bad cable. Hey..... but this video reminded me of the guitar with the ghost in it. What happened to that one? (a guitar showing malfunction the being perfectly all right) Did you figured out what it was?
I've got one of these -- put it through hell, and it's never failed. For not having to pay up the fricken' wazoo for actual Marshall, these aren't too bad (they're actually made in Viet Nam -- talk about off-shore!!!) They're pretty ballsy for a small amp!
Could have been a bad customer's guitar cord to start with. Maybe some spooge on the plug got wiped onto the jack's contacts accidentally at customer city. Then when you plugged a nice clean plug into it... you fixed it! Not much in a "modern" amp today... Lots of pots though!
i have the 100 watt version ,it's a beast
