actually North Africa and Middle East share a lot...this is known as a "handerchief" or veil dance which is known across the Middle East as well..You can find much on Google and Yahoo searches about these dances...

Dear Sandra, Yes. I know that you are correct.Yes, I know that is a greeting song called the Guedra. I should have been careful to extend my explanation....I had great fun learning the hands moves from women among the Tuareg while I was there.....but I know the same, or a simlar dance greeting is extended across parts of Middle East....I just wanted to emphasize how beautifully the Tuareg women perform the dance compared with others.
