Do you ever wonder why the so called expert on "marriage" the one and only Maggie Gallagher is never seen with her husband? If marriage is so great...why is he absent? The reason is Maggie Gallagher is married to a black man. She is in an interracial marriage. being gay may or may not be a choice but living the gay lifestyle is a choice and that's why we are here. the government doesn't ask you whether you are gay or straight. sexual orientation has nothing to do with the issue.you can't compare an immutable characteristic (race, gender, etc) to somebody's behavior. A lifestyle is not a minority. Jews, blacks and women were discriminated agains,t for who they were not for who they were having sex with

Whether you believe that someone is born gay like someone is born black or whether you believe that you chose to be gay like you chose to be religious...the fact of the matter is being gay is IMMUTABLE, like being black, jewish, or women.

What's amazing to me is how this decision has triggered important Iowa Democrats to publicly endorse same-sex marriage. Sometimes, all it needs is a little push--and we are SOOO close to breaking down the dam of intolerance and bigotry to create a flood of equality for GLBT people. THIS IS THE CIVIL RIGHTS ISSUE OF THE EARLY 21ST CENTURY, and we're making it happen!
Congrats to the couples, and to the State of Iowa, for doing what is right!
