  • I hate to be "that guy" but whats this song? lol oh and I LOVE the video btw :)

  • great video man

  • this guy is right. no one can ever know the feeling of any of this until they can become a firefighter. i am a firefighter myself

  • I've got chills, and I haven't even finished my fire training.... This really put into prospective what I'm about to take on.

  • im a 21 year old firefighter...i have seen a lot...4 years on this video says it all..i love it

  • I wish for no one to ever see or experience what we do on a call. It is our burden to bear, if that burden is too heavy, move on before "that one call" effects you for the rest of your life. Every morning after shift is the same, Wife asks how was work, I answer with “Ehh; wasn’t too bad”

  • this is a touching video im a 17 year old volunteer i have seen alot my motto is "busting ours to save yours" being a fire fighter means everything to me

  • I'm a 21 yearold volunteer firefighter and while i havent seen anything yet mainly since i'm a probie but this video is beautiful god bless every firefighter

  • This is so true no one but firefighters, first responders will ever understand what we go through when that call comes in. I am a volunteer firefighter myself and my wife has spent some sleepless nights when my pager goes off for a house fire or a motor vehicle accident at 0300. She says "I love you" as I am leaving the house to go down to the fire hall cause she is afraid that I might not return that night.

  • The greatest honor and feelings from Denmark, i'm a volenteer firefighter my self and i know some of the pain/thoughts you are listing in this video.

    The brotherhood of firefighters all over the world will always be united no matter;

    who you are,

    what you belive in

    where you are from or

    what skincolor you have.

    Humbel reguards from Denmark

  • inherent dangers as not all situations can be understood, however training and different tactics might help

  • Im gonna go ahead and guess the guy/girl who wrote this obviously is new on the job, or a volly. No one wishes for people too feel the pain you see on the job. Plus it happens, shut up and stop talking about your feelings, if thats really what you want too do get of the rig and start going to grievance meetings.

  • Try being humble.

  • I can answer all your wishes as a former firefighter, except one. For better or worse I kept my family in blissful ignorance about my close calls...all I wanted them to know was I walked out the door on a call and I will walk back through. Usually they found out as we firefighters tend to be a gossipy breed, but I tried.

  • I am 16 years old. I am a volunteer firefighter training to become a paid firefighter. Just when I thought ive seen it all, something new comes up. god bless all firefighters and may you go home the way you went to a call.

  • Thank you it's beautiful so true From a retired volunteer firefighter

  • Im 17 and training to become a firefighter and I know how amazing this job is and what comes with it. This clip brings tears to my eyes not because of sadness but for the fact that no one can fully realize what they do and what I will do.

  • im completely in love with a firefighter and i cant stop worrying hes going to get hurt and i wont ever no what happend until days later.. im very proud of him but i dont want to loose him :/

  • Very nice video, Thanks.

  • my boyfriend(my hero) is a firefighter. i never stop worrying about him or any of the guys at the station, but i've never been more proud of anyone as i am of him. i may think FF's are crazy sometimes for wanting such a dangerous job, but i'm beyond thankful for what they do! God bless.

  • At the end of this video i said "So true" Going in to a fire i say to myself, I'll make it back, I have the will. And when you come back out and your okay but a firefighter got killed when the roof caved in and you were in that spot a second earlier but your buddy who was right behind you was the one to get killed... it made me think, I have the best and the worst job in the world.

  • my first house fire i wasnt to scared about going in,but coming back out drag a fallin brother was probably 1 of the most hardest things ive ever done in my life, im on the tower now and its a different story for that, but its a way of life for those of us who like it an understand it

  • seeing nothing the first time was the scariest thing for me, of course it was training but it was still smoke, i couldnt see my hand, even if i put it up to my mask, sucked, i mean it freaked me out, idk about anyone else.

  • I love your video and i may not know what it is like to be a firefighter but i know what it is like to be a sister to one. I know that i can never say that i know what it feels like to be in the fire or to fight to keep someone alive. But I know the constant worry that they could die at any moment and just kills you on the inside. But I know all you guys do this because you love it and I Thank you all for doing it. God Bless and Thank You.

  • @kblewett97 my mom is the same way, she used to chase fires because her dad was a firefighter, he used to chase fires because his dad was one, and etc. but the line has come to me, ive made my choice, being a fireman is the best thing ive ever done, she told me as long as she lives she wont ever go to a house fire as long as im there :\

  • from one fire fighter to another, all I can say is thank you for everything. I truly wish that one day I can save someone, as for now I will continue my training as a Jr. Fire Fighter in my home town where I have experianced manything already. You and all the other fire fighters mean the world to me. Thank you some much.

  • To those out there who dislike any of the firefighter tribute videos, including this one especially, please feel free to follow us in next time.

  • i'm a firefighter two (NFPA 1001 ),,, and i understand you,,,,,,

  • I know what it feels like. Going to every call not knowing what has happened or is going to happen. You do everything you can but sometimes its not good enough. I have been a firefighter since i was seventeen. I'm eighteen now and i love what i do. I wish more people could understand what we do and appreciate us.

  • This is a awsome video. I am also a firefighter for Hebron Kentucky

  • I'm lucky enough to have a firefighter for a boyfriend... i love him so much and i worry about him all the time, my heart drops everytime i hear his pager go off... just wondering if this will be his last call or not.. But i know he has good trainning and has his fellow firefighters to have his back....

  • something where it was family or friends involved and i told him id tell him when that day came and that night it was him. the last words out of his mouth when i talked to him at the scene and told him i was there and asked how he was doing.was i hurt bad and i love you and tell mom i love her 2.

  • @mcarp25 Sorry for your loss. Thanks for all you do.

  • at 2:11 it talks about extricating a teen from there vehicle and what if its a sister or brother or girlfriend or daughter or son or friend. i know how that feels i am a volunteer in indiana and i was called out to a roll over car accident which turned out to be my brother. i was the first on scene and cut and pulled him out of his truck to find out he had died in the accident. it is probally the hardest thing i have ever had to do. he asked me that day what would you do if you got called to

  • firefighters have a different sense of humor. We laugh at some of the weirdest stuff, pull some of the meanest pranks on our brothers, but yet fall to pieces over the passing of a pet. You will find no greater friend, nor fiercer enemy, nor more compassionate soul, or more of a man to proclaim a brother to another.. When one of us or ours bleed, we all kneel, and are damn proud to do it. Bryan Adams song, "Everything I do" pretty much says it. Ultraism at its best

  • I have to give you guy and girls much love and support for what you do,

It's not easy believe me, I used to be one.

  • the person that made this video is a true understanding American hero to me!

    God Bless!

  • darkblood you are absolutely correct. not only is it hard on the firefighter its hard on the family. hell ive had ex gfs tell me them or my job as a firefighter. and if you noticed i said they are exes. I love my job and wouldnt give it up for anything.

  • Life as a firefighter is tough, and people who aren't in don't understand. But the bonds you get from being in the dept make everything a bit easier

  • I just wnat oto say to all of you have to do this, you are a very strong person and are very insperational! keep up the good work, my orayers are with every one of you!

  • Nice video - I couldn't agree more. As a small town volunteer fire chief I've seen things and had to do things I wish I could forget, but I would do them all over again if I had to. It's an honor to be a volunteer fireman.

  • ive been there b4 i kno how you feel and agree with everything in your video

  • I have to say I have never heard of a calling that requires as much bravery as being a firefighter. I want to be a firefighter when I'm older

  • been a firefighter/cfr since the day i turned 18 i love it and it saddens me that people dont truly now what we endure day in and day out cuttin a friend u grew up with outta a mangled car hoping he still has some fight in him videos like this are what opens peoples eyes great video

  • Things like this make me honored to be a firefighter standing with my brothers and sisters in that maltese cross

    CTCFD

  • Amazing video!!! Its sad to think there are still people out there who don't understand why we do what we do. God bless all of those that put their life on the line to save someone's life.

  • Sunday, September 25, 2011 We regret to advise you that a veteran Firefighter/Fire Officer, Keith Rankin with the Lancaster Township Fire Department (Lancaster County, PA) died in the Line of Duty this morning. During training earlier today, Keith suffered what is reported to be sudden cardiac death but in spite of his members witnessing the event-and immediate life saving attempts, Keith did not survive. He leaves behind his wife and 2 step daughters.

  • That was beautiful!

    Thank you

    MFD64

  • That was beautiful!

  • This video gave me chills... Thank you.

    OGVFD 1222

  • if you die saving another life, i see that as a death worth dying

  • is the most incredible video I have seen to represent EMS, FF etc...

I am the Montana State Director of Fellowship of Christian Firefighters and we are looking for a video to use on our power points to get people to support the Fire service....would it be possible that you would be willing to burn me a CD or DVD of this and donate it to FCFI which is a 501c3 organization? montanaemt@live.com

  • Always remember brothers, stay humble and strong. We CHOSE this job. You see videos and hear stories about the horrors of the job. Then one day, you experience that horror. If you have a hard time with a job, LET SOMEONE KNOW!!!! Your fellow firefighters, your Lt., your Capt., your Chief. Get the help you need!! This is the greatest job in the world, but it can be terrifying and traumatizing. Don't EVER feel weak or less of a man for getting help. Take care and stay safe.

  • @TopGun8993 cisd

  • Nice video sir. But with all due respect, i would wish these experiences on nobody. We do it with hope that the average citizen never has to experience the horrors of the job. Just saying

  • amen brother. im a volunteer firefighter in central florida. everyone calls us heros but my heros are the families we come home to after a call because there the ones there to pick us up. idk bout all of you but somehow my family always knows when somethings wrong when i come home and they give me the motivation to answer the next call. THANK YOU to all firefighter families.

  • geat video, im a volunteer firefighter, but all i have to say is, i wouldnt wish any of this on anyone, there are just things that are way to heartbreaking that we as firemen and women have seen, and have altered our lives forever.

  • I know and I have been there I was married to a fire fighter then I became one. Even though I only got to do trafic control but i truely can relate to your video I all so have two kids and each call I'd go I prayed to god that I'd come back from the call unharmed and be with my kids.

  • Absolutely true.....

  • My daddy was a fire fighter so i know what its like to sit at home and wait for him to walk through the door. the longest wait we had was if it was a house fire or a barn fire thats the worst feeling in the world waiting cuz your either waiting for the fire chief to come to your door or waiting for him to walk through the door to hug you and your mother.

  • Hell I am a probie fireman and one of my first calls we had to pull a burn corpse from a car. the smell is still in my mind and the thought that we had to use a crowbar to free it from the car. also I agree with Justchilin598. people never get out the way...but thing that gets me even more pissed is the peepers. OMG FIRE!!! honey grab the kids time to watch the fire and get in the way of the firemen.!!

  • As a Firefighter I just wish cars would move out of the way. People need to learn to look in their mirrors... Time is critical as a firefighter and EMT.

  • i've been a firefighter from the age of 15 to i was 26. i've calls that gave me nightmares and hunted me for ytears.

  • Ive been a firefighter for 4 and half years and there are calls that will always be burned into my mind, but i still push on even threw the most worst and horrible times. The thoughts of all the children and friends and people that i have seen die or saved is waht drives me forward. This video is one of the bet i have scene out here and i would love to say Thank You for posting! Even if its not yours, still! Thank You!

  • i no this im a 14 year old jr firefighter its tough lots of hard work and dedication

  • i do feel this i do see this u know y coz i to am i proud firefighter for morrell v.f.d

  • a very good video

very well done, thanks for this!

What is the name of the song? Or of the actor from this song?

  • my mom and dad are firefighters and i know how bad it is out their and i found ur video very touching.Good job and be safe

  • when little children say "I wanna be a fireman" they never tell them about this. Good. btw, I am a firefighter too so I am not badmouthing them, good job and greetings from the hellam township fire department in hellam PA

  • my daddy is a volunteer fire fighter. he has searched for and found a five year old girls body after a five alarm fire.... having four little girls of his own at home.

he has had to see a young man he watched grow up be held back as he pulled the bodies of his fiance and sister from a destroyed car.. and then go home and tell his child that her friends are dead. and both girls are kids that grew up down the road from him and played with his children.

  • there are ppl out there who dis our firefighters but there are those who tahnk them and try to help them all they can. there are ppl who hate our firefighters because they couldnt save there family our there house. there are those who wish that our fire fighters will never come home. i am one of those ppl that want to live this life and feel these things so all those haters out there go to hell cause when your house catches fire we will be there to help you

  • This video touched my heart....It made me cry....We FFs go through this everyday....

  • My exboyfriend is volenteer firefighter. I worry everyday that he wont be okay. I still love him, I can see us together forever but I'd never tell him that. I guess like everybody else you've just gotta pray and hope he comes home. He's the bravest man I've ever known maybe one day ill get ot call him mine again.

  • I'm a firefighter in a rural community, the type of town where everybody knows everybody else, sometimes it makes it hard to do especially on some of the medicals. but i guess all we can say is its the good ones we try to remember.

  • what's the song that's playing?? i love the video by the way

  • @mockiiv

    it's wasted years by cold

  • we save lives, by risking our own to protect our friends and strangers and family, what makes it hard to explain is we have already calculated the cost and are willing to do our passion, firefighting. the hard part to explain is why, i dont consider this just a job, it is my passion. it takes courage, heart, passion to do this, what makes it hard is that u have to have these to understand and be able to do our thing.

  • im a volunteer firefighter in a rural area and it seems words cant explain the job of a firefighter or what we see or why we risk our lives for complete strangers great vid

  • ik what its like im a vol fighter and i have nightmmares about the things i seen hopin my family or no1 else goes through it i mean im a girl and ppl have a tendince to piss me off sayin firefighter dont do shit and dont care when then actuy do

  • @queenbit01 I completely agree, no one know the life of what we do.... no one, I am sick and tired of people telling me and trying to "show" me this.... I wish people could see this but then again I wish no one the horrors of firefighting on anyone but myself and my fellow firefighters.

"Everyone can be a cop, but only a few can be a firefighter"

  • @TheJad1917 agreed

  • This is a wonderful video. My father is a firefighter, and so are many of my friends. I can't count how many times we almost lost them, but the numerous amount of times that they have saved a life. It's amazing what they do. I would never be able to do it.

  • nice video im a volunteer firefighter and i gotta say this is one of the best ive seen so far.

  • i am a firefighter and i am proud of being one but my girl dont know way i am one and idk how two tell her

  • @rodderful Its hard. Just have a sit down. Take her to coffee or something and just explain. I had to do that with my boyfriend when I told him. (female firefighter here) if she really means something she will support the things you love and are proud of. And she will be proud too.

  • @rodderful Maybe learn to spell first..

  • when i read the parts where it said 'the doctors pernouncer the 5 year old i was trying to save will never go on her first date or say the words mommy i love you again' brout tears to my eyes cuz i have a lil sis thats 4 and has been in and out of the hospitle ever scince she was a baby. i always have a felling that once she gose in she will never come out. i love her so much she is the sunshine in my life. i told my mom befor my lil sis was born that if she wasnt a girl i would run away.

  • God Bless all other fire fighters i am a volunteer fire fighter in a small town in Tennessee and most of my friends don't know what its like doing the job but they keep telling me they can do it likes its the easiest job out there

  • @rebelhollar Yes same here, I am in a small city fire department in West Virginia, and I have to say the same. Or how they say that this or that job is harder than Firefighting.... I am sorry but don't say anything about something especially if you have no idea what he or she does

  • Fantastic video! Thank you.

  • 4 people are heartless... this is an AWESOME video thank you so much. thank you to all the firefighters who put their life on the line everyday. EGH 343 NEVER FORGET

  • Excellent! Please check out my new fire fighter 9/11 10th aniversity video. To all the heros, Thankyou! - the Bailiff

  • 4 people wish they had the balls to do this job

  • whats the name of the music?

  • godbless you

  • great video everytime someone bad mouths firefighters ill just show them this video. Nobody takes my word or understands what its like to do what we all do. STAY SAFE BROTHERS.

  • @charlieb131 its sad your right but know one notices the guys with over a hundred pounds of gear on and is running into the burning buildings and risking there lives for others or respect them until we show up at there front door step at 3 or 4 in the morning and then they notice us

  • AWESOME that's all I have to say!

  • amazing tribute.

  • i am a firefighter and that brought a tear. it is one of the most powerful tributes i've seen.

  • now i know how our neighbour feels, he is a London firefighter, and he must see lots of horrific things in the line of duty.

  • Im a volunteer in Alabama and wanted to say thanks to all my brothers out there paid and volunteers. Stay safe yall.

  • This Volunteer firefighter say thanks my brother. Some will never understand.

  • this is a great video!

  • Someone set my friends house on fire back in September. It makes you realise what you have in life..

  • I've been a volunteer explorer for almost 4 weeks now. I've got a minitor and a rotatinhg light on my Huffy. I hear all the stories that the old guys talk about at the firehall and they have literally been on hundreds of calls in the last 20 years. It makes me sad in my pussy area when I hear about old people falling down or tripping on the curb and pooping their pants. This job is really dangerous. I got old people pee on my hand last week. My uncle had a heart attack at a BLS call...RFB LODD.

  • someday when your laying in a ditch somewhere cause you were in a wreck and the Firefighters and Paramedics come to help you and save your life your gonna be thankful or someday when your house catches on fire and your trapped inside and a Firefighter comes in to risk his life but he saves yours you will be thankful i have been a Firefighter for several years and lost a friend and fellow Firefighter a few years ago when he was saving someones life he lost his life saving someone elses

  • @MrJackers95 How do u become a junior firefighter?

  • This vid and everything in it explained a lot to anyone who knows little about the fire service, it shows then the ugly side of it and i think anyone who watches this changes their minds about firefighters. good job on the video and goodluck to every firefighter male or female

    Dwayne - PVFD - 240 Trainee

  • No one who isnt a firefighter will ever understand what we go through.. nor will they truly appreciate life the way we do.. great video

  • As a firefighter my self this shows everything every firefigher has gone through and what rookies will see. Being a firefigher is no easy job but it must be done the ones brave enough too do it will remember everything seen. Its hard too drive up too a roll over and have too put a brother into a body bag thats one thing that has been stuck in my mind. I always told my friends in HS not to be dumb and drink n driver or just f**k around when driving i never want too put anyone i lov in a body bag

  • @2007lexi Very true. I am a rookie firefighter and I have already begun to see some very disturbing things. It sucked alot one night. An address came across for a gas leak that sounded too familiar. In the truck, I was dead silent and all I could think about was that address. Upon arrival on scene, I noticed that it was a fellow firefighter's house. Luckily, the leak was resolved and nobody was harmed, but it shook me a little bit.

  • @nsrailfann4life91 You will have alot of calls like that.I was rased in the FD and I LOVE IT but there are times that suck. But if you ever need to talk about a call dont be scared to ask for help because your broter & sister FFs have been there and they will help you out.Dont ever think that they will look down on you becasue if you dont ask for the help and something happens too you then they are going to say wy did you ask we would of showed you.If you need anything let me know.

  • @2007lexi Thanks. We had a car into a tree the other day and the vehicle description matched my mother's car. Fotunately it wasnt her car. It's unfortunate that it happened at all, but I was a bit more relieved when I could verify that it wasnt her. You never know sometimes.

  • @2007lexi We just had a probie in our dept who seen his first death of a citizen last week, its amazing that when we came back, he just left, and he came back and was afraid to talk to us cause of someone making fun of him or heckling him like we do to each other, he didnt know the difference......friends, please never, never be afraid to talk to your fellow FF's.......we may pick on each other for fun, but when it comes to this stuff, my God no one should ever laugh.....good point 2007lexi.

  • @stvoyager i know what you mean, i worked a small plan crash just a few miles from my station and bout a mile from my house and i was afraid to talk about it cause the couple was very mangled, i told my cheif who also is my uncle that i was having nightmares about it and was afriad to talk bout it and he said that he to had nightmares and we sat down with everyone who worked that call, we all agreed it was a good idea to talk about it

  • i have to say this video is great, by far one of best on here. The words speak volume. Being a pass jr firefighter going for firefighter and medic as well as a degree in fire science within two years... it makes you want the job more but remembing those ypu've lost.

  • thanks brother i hope that this video will help people understand what we all go through, much love and respect to all our brothers and sisters out there stay safe and put the wet stuff on the hot stuff

  • this video is amazing and realy shows how firefighters are. this video reminds me of how i am at a fire scen thank you my brother for showing our true feeling

  • Man this video really shows and tells what we all go through but cant put in to words thanks buddy

  • best video out there. thank you so much for the great video. It truely describes what firefighters go trough on a daily basis and why we have such a strong brotherhood

  • This video has touched me in so many ways. This video is probably one of the best videos I've seen for firefighters.

  • Reading this has made me realize that we do what we do not for fame but because we want to protect other people.

  • my friend sent me this so i would kno what he goes thru..it made me cry and just wish yall could be safer in doing this

  • mudslinger462 good jod it the first time i sow the fireman wish it is so true

  • i am a rookie with a small vfd in WI great job on the vid and keep them coming. giver em hell and god bless

    NLVFD

  • im a firefighter also and i know what he goes through i do it every day but nobody around here appreciates our firedepartment enough to realize what we do for them everyday...atleast some people out there are committed to what they do to save a defenseless life from a burning building or a over turned car

  • Im gonna be goin through EMT classes in the next few months to become an EMT and work my way up to a Paramedic. This vid just reafferms what I want to do with my life. Helpin others in their worst of times and to do what i can to help. I dont care about the pay i just want to make a difference and help

  • i'm a volunteer firefighter i've had to work a car wreck in which my best friend who was like sister to me was killed i cut the door off and held her limp body one last time and recently worked a wreck with two kids involved the mother was unresponsive the kids were screaming i love you mommy thats some of the things i will never forget

  • I made this video years ago, and my hard drive fried. I would really like to download it from my account. I know it can be done because Ive seen copies of this posted by other people hahaha. If anyone can tell me how I would greatly appreciate it!! Never thought it would be such a hit, thank you for all the comments!

  • @Mudslinger462 downloading im not so sure but you can get the video code through the embed beside the share

  • @Mudslinger462 Just Google search for Youtube Downloaders. There is a ton of them that are free. Love the video by the way.

  • @Mudslinger462 Do you still need this video.....please respond., thanks and stay safe bro.

  • @Mudslinger462 if you have real player like the new version it comes with a v video downloader what pops up above videos and depending on the size of the video i could download it for you and email you it if your intrested

  • @Mudslinger462

Download Real Player and put your mouse over the video and in the top right corner it will come up with a link to download it to Real Player then when you get it to download there open real player and tell it to convert to mp3 or avi or wma those are all compatible formats for windows media player

  • @Mudslinger462 if you download a program called 'Free Studio' you can do it there really simply. awsome video man massive respect for all the firefighters out there guys, hope this helps cheers

  • i was talking to someone about how i want to be a firefighter they said dont do it, it pays bad well its not about the pay its about helping the helpless

  • @hiiliketacos dude dont listin to them if u like helpin ppl then do it. no u dont get paid well but like u said its not bout that.
