  • she always rockd and still sounds good was hOT back in the day too !

  • this is cool

  • Rock on Mama!

  • It was Rhonda in 1956,

  • I would bet that most people in that audience had no clue how famous this wonderful living legend, actually is. Just take a look at how many listings there are for Wanda Jackson, on youtube. More than most. She stood out among most female singers in the 50's and later.

  • "Silver Threads and Golden Needles", a song written by Jack Rhodes and Dick Reynolds, was first recorded by Wanda Jackson in 1956. The original lyrics, as performed by Jackson, contain a verse not usually included in later versions, which also often differed in other minor details.

  • Hunny Loretta Tammy And Dolly did it first. They are better than Linda and you.

  • Wanda is the original singer of this song in 1956 i think.

  • Enjoyed this!

And I think the correct last line for the verse is "To think your PRIDE would let you live by the golden rule."

  • her stuff is all so good

  • She's cool. I love her version. More relaxed eventho I love linda ronstadt's version too.

  • Welcome to the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of fame little lady............

  • wasnt she featured in that 90s women of country PBS Special?

  • I wonder if Wanda ever thought of doing this one with JANIS Joplin??!

  • Its a bit difficult to hear clearly ... prety hot micraphone and crowd white noise. I'd really like to hear that second verse clearly.

  • "I grew up in in faded gingham where love is a sacred thing

You grew up in silk and satin where love is a passin' game

I know now you never loved me and I know I was the fool

To think your cry would let you live by the golden rule"

  • shouldn't it be, to think your pride[instead of cry] would let you live by the golden rule. just asking!

  • you are correct, sir! Thanks for that.
