My parents told me that twenty-some years ago Hal Lindsay told Pat Robertson that God told him (Lindsay) that we had fewer years left before the Second Coming than he had fingers on one hand. The rapture theory is just that a theory without biblical foundation started in the 1800 with a dream by a child. If you read the only verse that has to do with that is a tributed to the so called rapture, I want to be the one left behind as this will be with Jesus and the ones taken away are the not with Christ.

TBH, I do believe that the bible - as well as any other religious text, INCLUDING the Quran - to be wonderful moral guides and inspirational milestones. Yet, I find religion as a whole to be, for lack of better words, abominations. They are a bane of society, and the fact that people still crutch themselves on them are the main reason that the masses are still so easily swayed by those in power, and the reason that the world is still in such chaos. I think it should be done away with as a whole.

The Bible is just another collection of myths and fairy stories, many borrowed from earlier cultures in the area.
And they are hardly representative of the entire world's viewpoint - there are a multitude of cultures that work from different ancient bases that are just as rife with superstition, myth and ignorance.

My parents told me that twenty-some years ago Hal Lindsay told Pat Robertson that God told him (Lindsay) that we had fewer years left before the Second Coming than he had fingers on one hand. My dad said he didn't notice that Lindsay had an unusual number of fingers on either hand so we're all guessing it wasn't God who was speaking to him.

I think I started seeing a bible code 'documentary' and it was just so wrong.. they tried ALL the possible sequences that COULD be made to make it seem like a code. What didn't convince me was that the sequences were rarely the same :-/. Its like saying that word ostrich many times and say it can mean 'O Christ, O Christ, etc' and say its proof of the divine inspiration of the word ostrich. Maybe a bad analogy but w/e. =D
