That did not last too long - it changed when we realized that John & Paul were the real powerhouses behind the Beatles, and just about anyone could of done Ringo's job.

They toured, they played the BBC in England, but in America, they had 3 gigs on Ed Sullivan, this terrific appearance on Shindig, and the televised Shea Stadium concert a year after it happened. Aside from that, all we had were their movies

Hard Days night and Help. We were starved for visual contact with them; no doubt this fed their status as the white-hot center of the universe.

@MrBuc128 They are the Beatles and yes it's easy to hear the songs, but you can find the lyrics if you're having trouble making them out. The thing around John Lennon's neck is a harmonica and Paul is playing bass not a Violin with no bow. Hope that helped.

Regardless of the Harmonica and I know the Beatles were infatuated with Dylan by this period - to see john Lennon with acoustic guitar, singing a bluesy/country style tune is a haunting thing.

Dylan and Lennon, born only a year apart, but in different continents - It's unusual how similar they can appear. Very strange.

The most astonishing thing in this clip though - the gutt-wrenching grimace Lennon makes when singing "My tears are falling like rain from the sky".
